Ayurveda is attaining the attraction globally not only as an ancient life science but also as a successful aid to treat and manage the ailments in style, Apart from the common sayings that Ayurveda does not have quick-acting treatment modality, Nowadays Ayurveda is successfully managing sports medicine effectively and smoothly, as far as sports medicine and athletes are concerned Injuries are part & parcel of a sportsperson’s life. They are a class of people who torture their body to the maximum to get the maximum result. Injuries are sustained due to faulty techniques, accidents as in the case of contact sports. In the process, they sustain a lot of injuries. Despite advanced treatment techniques injuries tend to recur. It severely hampers the progress of their career & shortens their active sports life. It forces them for early retirement. Ayurvedic treatment like sringavacharana & bandaging technique help to heal the injuries more effectively. Sringavacharana is an essential tool in the armarium of Ayurvedic physician to deal as emergency care in low back pain.here the technique and step involved in executing the Sringavacharana in the modern era and swastika bandhana is explained with essential photographs and also with the help of a clinical study.

Sports medicine assessment and treatment techniques are ever developing and becoming more holistic. Traditional musculoskeletal assessment is changing to incorporate neural tissue pathology. Neural tension tests assess the mobility of neural tissue in the extremities and spinal canal. Positive adverse neural tension tests suggest poor mobility of neural tissue. Athletes with adverse neural tension often present with pain and decreased range of motion. These disorders can occur individually or can be associated with sports injuries. Ankle sprains, hamstring strains, tennis elbow, and thoracic outlet syndrome are some conditions that respond well to treatment of adverse neural tension. Reports of improved treatment outcomes following neural tension assessment and treatment suggest that adverse neural tension should be considered as a possible source of pain and dysfunction. This paper outlines concepts necessary to understand adverse neural tension including neuroanatomy, pathology, assessment techniques, and common sports injuries that may have an adverse neural tension component.

Chronic back and neck pain are common clinical entities in ayurvedic practice. Most of the patients are not rendered pain free with the current ayurvedic treatment regimens. Ayurveda considers agni (digestive power) derangements as the basic cause for all nija rogas (endogenous diseases). The term agnivaishamya is implied for functional derangement of agni. Emerging evidences through modern researches point to the role of GI dysfunctions in pain pathologies.  A cross sectional analysis of patients with chronic pain in the neck and back was conducted at VPSV Ayurveda college hospital to explore associations between pain and features of agnivaishamya in koshta (GIT). In the twenty eight patients analyzed, significant association has been found between pain in low back and koshta (GIT) features like Arsas (hemorrhoids) and vibandha (Constipation). Strength of association was more between arsas and low back pain with OR  of 4.2 (P<0.05). In the case of cervical pain , multiple features of Koshta like avipaka (feeling of indigestion), aruchi (anorexia), amlodgara (sour eructations), urodhumayana (chest burn) and muhurbadha muhurdrava pureesha (alternating constipation and loose stools) were found to be associated. Hence it can be concluded that there is significant association of agnivaishamya with chronic pain in neck and back.

Sciatica is most common musculoskeletal disorder. Affecting the movement of leg is low back pain.  It is a pain dominant disease and reduces human activity. It restricts the movement of the affected leg. Gridhrasi can be equated with Sciatica. were Pain, Weakness, Numbness, and other Discomforts along the path of Sciatica nerve often accompanies low back pain. The common symptoms of Gridhrasi is pain starts from Spike and then radiates to Kati, Prushta, Uru, Janu, Jangha, Paad along with Stambha, Ruka, Toda, Spandana and causes Sakatiutkshepa Nighra (restricted movement of lifting of the leg). [1]           In Ayurveda Basti Chikitsa is considered to be half chikitsa for vat dosha. So, Katibasti with Bala Tail [2] and Shaman chikitsa was selected for the patient.

This article focuses on the main contemplative principles of the ‘Heart Essence’ (sNying thig), a Tibetan Buddhist tradition that is characterized by a vision of non-duality and primordial wholeness. Due to this vision, which asserts an original reality that is not divided into perceiving subject and perceived object, the ‘Heart Essence’ advocates a contemplative practice that undermines the usual intuitions of temporality and enclosed selfhood. Hence, unlike the common principles of intentional praxis, such as deliberate concentration and gradual purification, the ‘Heart Essence’ affirms four contemplative principles of non-objectiveness, openness, spontaneity and singleness. As these principles transcend intentionality, temporality, and multiplicity, they are seen to directly disclose the nature of primordial awareness, in which the meanings of knowing and being are radically transformed. Therefore, the article will also consider the role of these non-dual contemplative principles in deeply changing our understanding of being and knowing alike.

Ali Bin Abi Talib once said that children should be educated in accordance with the  development of the times. The Ali bin Abi Talib’s statement could be considered as his attention more to the development of human civilization. For that reason, there should be studies focused on the role of educational institutions in facing the challenges of the times. On this stand, the writer raises the existence of pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) for being considered to have been able to survive amid the onslaught of civilization increasingly obscuring cultural identity. In addition, this study also aims to identify and discuss the role of pesantren in the modern era. This is a literature study using a descriptive and exploratory approach. It can be concluded that pesantren are non-formal Islamic educational institutions. Pesantren have permanent and distictive methods and learning models. The purpose of pesantren education is the same as Islamic education in general, instilling a sense of virtue, familiarizing themselves with courtesy, preparing for a holy, sincere and honest life entirely. Pesantren could be seen from three aspects: (a) pesantren that are seen from facilities and infrastructures, (b) pesantren that are seen from disciplines taught, and (c) pesantren that are seen from the fields of knowledge.

This article highlights the role of Charles de Gaulle in the history of united post-war Europe, his approaches to the internal and foreign French policies, also vetoing the membership of the United Kingdom in the European Community. The authors describe the emergence of De Gaulle as a politician, his uneasy relationship with Roosevelt and Churchill during World War II, also the roots of developing a “nationalistic” approach to regional policy after the end of the war. The article also considers the emergence of the Common Agricultural Policy (hereinafter - CAP), one of Charles de Gaulle’s biggest achievements in foreign policy, and the reasons for the Fouchet Plan defeat.

The published document is a part of the working record of The Secretariat of the CPSU Central Committee on May 5, 1969. The employees of The Common Department of the CPSU Central Committee started writing such working records from the end of 1965. In contrast to the protocols, the working notes include speeches of the secretaries of the Central Committee, that allow to deeper analyze the reactions of the top party leadership, to understand their position regarding the political agenda. The peculiarity of the published document is that the Secretariat of the Central Committee did not deal with the most important foreign policy issues. It was the responsibility of the Politburo. However, it was at a meeting of the Secretariat of the Central Committee when Brezhnev raised the question of inviting G. Husák to Moscow. The latter replaced A. Dubček as the first Secretary of the Communist party of Czechoslovakia in April 1969. As follows from the document, Leonid Brezhnev tried to solve this issue at a meeting of the Politburo, but failed. However, even at the Secretariat of the Central Committee the Leonid Brezhnev’s initiative at the invitation of G. Husák was not supported. The published document reveals to us not only new facets in the mechanisms of decision-making in the CPSU Central Committee, the role of the Secretary General in this process, but also reflects the acute discussions within the Soviet government about the future of the world socialist systems.
