People have become more sensitive to the local discomfort of the anus in recent years as their quality of life has improved. Anal bulge, which is related to Chinese medicine’s “post-heavy,” is a prevalent symptom in the anorectal department. The causes of disease are complicated, involving both objective and subjective elements. There is currently no precise plan for diagnosing and treating anal swelling. In the last ten years, Chinese medicine has briefly described the treatment of anal swelling.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the clinical experience of Zan Qiang, a famous doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Shaanxi province, in the treatment of perimenopausal osteoporosis. Zan believed that the main etiology and pathogenesis of perimenopausal osteoporosis were "deficiency of kidney essence, decreased marrow and bone", "deficiency of liver and kidney" and "stasis caused by deficiency". Although it is a chronic physiological disease, and the pathological process is irreversible, the treatment groups of "tonifying kidney and filling essence", "tonifying liver and tonifying kidney" and "tonifying deficiency and promoting blood circulation" can significantly improve the symptoms of patients, slow down the progress of the disease and improve the quality of life of patients.

Abstract Background Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) liver depression infertility quality of life scale is developed to provide a scientific and reliable tool for TCM treatment and intervention in the treatment of liver depression patients with infertility, as well as basis and assistance for clinical decision-making.Methods Literature research method: Through the retrieval of Chinese knowledge network (CNKI), Wanfang (WANFANG), Vip (VIP), Springer, PubMed database of existing Chinese life quality scale and infertility dedicated quality of life scale, an entry pool is built with symptoms, emotional state, social function state and satisfaction as dimensions. Using the Delphi method to screen the entries. Screening entries according to the results of expert review, and evaluating the positive degree coefficient, authority degree and coordination coefficient by the experts. Using the clinical questionnaire method to screen the entries further. To form the Chinese medicine liver depression infertility life of quality scale. Scale evaluation: the reliability and validity of the scale were evaluated based on the results of the clinical questionnaire. Results After two rounds of Delphi method, there are 33 entries remained. The clinical questionnaire rescreened entries, formed the traditional Chinese medicine liver depression infertility quality of life scale containing 4 dimensions of symptoms, emotional states, social function states and satisfaction, with total of 29 entries and VAS score scale. Evaluation results: the Kronbach alpha coefficients performed well in total and each aspect. The validity of the scale: the structural efficiency evaluation results are in good agreement with the scale structure envisioned at the time of design. The relationship between the quality of life scale and the standard scale (FertiQoL International2008) showed a high absolute value. Conclusion In this study, the quality of life scale of Chinese medicine liver depression type infertility was developed by literature research, Delphi method and clinical questionnaire, with good reliability and validity of the scale evaluated. It could be used as a tool for efficacy judgment tool or quality of life evaluation in Chinese medicine treatment or intervention for patients with liver depression infertility.

Sleep disturbance is a persistent source of suffering in palliative care patients. Symptoms such as difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, early awakening, or nonrestorative sleep are all indicative of sleep disorders. Poor sleep can have consequential effects on perception of pain, fatigue, mood, and quality of life. It is not only a prevalent symptom in the primary care population but also may in fact affect more than 60% of the palliative care population. In addition to the complexities of treatment, insomnia often serves as a red herring to alarm physicians of underlying conditions. Therefore, it is essential that palliative care physicians maintain a high index of suspicion for such confounding conditions as restless leg syndrome, sleep apnea, and delirium. This chapter highlights the intricacies of sleep disturbance and focuses on the most common patient presentations.

Emotional freedom techniques (EFTs) are an innovative combined somatic and cognitive therapy. Derived from key principles within traditional Chinese medicine, they incorporate elements of exposure, cognitive and other conventional psychotherapies. Increasing evidence suggests that EFTs are effective in treating various physical and psychological conditions and across several population groups. Studies indicate that the somatic component is essential to its ease of use, rapid effect and durability of results. EFTs can be used as self-help tools or applied therapeutically in groups or individually. There is a lack of research specifically examining its applicability to older adults, but a ground-breaking project with nurses in France suggests that EFTs may offer significant potential to moderate pain and stress levels and to improve mood, interaction and quality of life among this group, including those with multiple and complex comorbidities.
