Introduction: Accidental tetanus is an infectious disease with systemic repercussions and high lethality. Due to the complexity surrounding the care for these patients, nursing care must be conducted in a systematic, scientific and individualized way. Objective: To report the experience of systematization of nursing care to a patient affected by accidental tetanus in the light of the Basic Human Needs theory. Outline: This is a descriptive study, an experience report, developed in March 2019 after nursing care for a patient diagnosed with accidental tetanus, admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU) of a public hospital. Results: The elaboration of the care plan included information about the risk diagnosis and real diagnosis, nursing interventions and expected results, associated with the affected basic human need. Implications: It is well known that the provision of qualified care in the admission of patients with suspected accidental tetanus as well as their proper referral to the ICU contributes to a better prognosis.

Summary Morbidity and mortality rate for stroke and ischemic stroke (IS), in particular, have ranked Bulgaria at a top place in the European Union. In the acute recovery stage of the disease, patients need continuous and personalized health care. The assessment of individual needs and adequate planning for nursing interventions, known as nursing process stages, are the basis of effective care management for patients, surviving ischemic stroke (PSIS). Therefore, the study and application of the nursing process in practice have proved to be an objective prerequisite for improving the quality and development of nursing care for PSIS. The objective of the study was to analyze the opinion of nurses working in clinics/departments of Neurology and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation in three towns in Northern Bulgaria, on health care (HC) planning for PSIS and the required documentation. A direct anonymous inquiry was carried out, using specially designed questions to investigate the opinion of the respondents on the problems studied. Of the 81 individuals approached, 75 (93%) responded. Of these, 52 (69%) were familiar with the main points of the nursing plan concept, and 34 (65%) had heard about the concept during their basic training in the speciality. According to 67 (89%) of the respondents, a care plan was necessary to increase the health care (HC) efficiency in IS patients. Our results showed that healthcare professionals considered care planning an important tool to ensure continuity, evaluation and control of the care provided. According to the respondents, documenting health care and evaluating the activities performed will contribute to improve the quality of nursing care and promote research into nursing care.

Method: Methodological research, developed in two stages: documentary study, for the validation of content of the operational definitions of nursing diagnoses; and secondly applied research, via clinical cases, performed with children from 0 to 5 years. Results: The 126 diagnoses were submitted to consensus validation and 55.6% were validated. Six clinical case studies were carried out, using the phases of the nursing process, based on the theory of Basic Human Needs, identifying 24.3% of the validated diagnoses and 54.5% of the nursing interventions listed in the Nomenclature. ABSTRACTObjective: to propose a Nursing Care Systematization in an ‘Agreste’ of Pernambuco hospital rooming. Method: It´s a descriptive, exploratory study realized in two steps: first, a data collect tool was created, grounded on Horta’s conceptual model which is based on the Basic Human Needs. In the second step the tool was submitted to validation of content and appearances. The research was done by six nurses, called the research judges, who answered the questionnaire to validate the tool and besides they did the direct care to patients in the rooming of Jesus Nazareno Hospital in Caruaru- Pernambuco, after the approval of Research Ethics Committee with human beings – CEP/ASCES, under protocol 062/10. Results: despite the fact that 100% of the evaluators judged the tools as clear and adequate, the majority of judges suggested it should be more practical because the tool was long and of hard application in clinic practices due to work overcharge. Conclusion: the research enabled the reflection about the necessity of elaboration of an action plan which must include group sensibilization, involvement and participation in order to implement the systematization of care. This paper applies the Human Needs Theory to Uighur terrorism. The theory posits that people become violent when their basic human needs are unfulfilled, denied, or taken away from them. Also referred to as the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM), Uighur terrorists are a minority group of Muslim extremists in the western Chinese Autonomous Region of Xinjiang. Until the mid-1700s, they were considered a peaceful group, but when they lost their autonomy during the Qing dynasty rule (until 1910), and faced oppression by their new government, they resorted to violence. In this case, the Uighurs’ human need “stolen” by the Chinese was their identity. Not only is the Uighur issue underrepresented in the media; it has also received such negligible attention that most governments and scholars believe that the Autonomous Region of Xinjiang is mostly occupied by terrorists.

OBJECTIVE: to analyze nursing care provided to cancer patients with oral mucositis based on the Nursing Process (NP). METHOD: this exploratory, descriptive, cross-sectional and quantitative study was conducted with 213 patients undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy in two cancer facilities: one philanthropic and one private service. RESULTS: the participants were mainly female, aged 45.8 years old on average, with up to 11 years of schooling and income of up to one times the minimum wage. Severe mucositis was related to chemotherapy associated with radiotherapy. Only 25.3% of the patients reported having received guidance from nurses during their treatment concerning self-care. The perceptions of patients regarding quality of care did not significantly differ between the private and public facilities. The basic human needs mainly affected were comfort, eating, and hygiene. Based on this finding, one NP was established listing the diagnoses, interventions and expected results to establish an ideal, though individualized, standard of nursing care to be provided to these patients. CONCLUSION: to understand oral mucositis is crucial to establish nursing care that includes prevention based on the implementation of an oral care plan.
