Students discipline problem is developing into an epidemic in Nigerian schools. Every culture has its own values and norms, and these are communicated to its young generation through disciplinary strategies; and being culturally conceptualized and negotiated, these strategies and the languages therein, can only be understood by the members of the identifiable cultural group. The study evaluates some relevant information on teachers’ routine experiences and their views on the effectiveness the enforcement of order, control and disciplinary actions in secondary schools and how school disciplines are influenced by the cultural background of the Staff and students. This study explores teachers’ views on the common approaches and school disciplinary models in Nigeria. The paper suggests that the current educational administration and policies erodes the powers of the secondary Staff to such degree that teachers are disempowered hence, indiscipline among students continues to gather momentum causing poor academic performances.

Wider web space, the searching of a relevant data is the most curious problem for the common people accessing the web. For retreving the relevant information the user request is given to search engine. The relevant pages combined with irrelevant pages are returned to the user. The proposed work emphasizes an Improved Memetic Algorithm Enabled Intelligent Multi Agent (IMAEIMA) for searching the most appropriate pages when submitting complex queries. Improved Memetic algorithm is the traditional genetic algorithm combined with local search and random selection. In this proposed system Improved Memetic algorithm additionally enhanced with logarithmic weight function for more accuracy. Intelligent Agents are introduced in this IMAEIMA to improve its performance and accuracy by reacting intelligently based on feedback and previous experience. This system helps to retrieve relevant pages from web databases with high precision and recall. The derived architecture reveals greater precision and recall overriding the conventional search algorithms.

In the article Polish and Ukrainian historians will analyze scientific achievements of researchers, who in the Polish and Ukrainian historiography occupy a prominent place as regards the haidamak movements and Koliyivshchyna, i.e. Franciszek Rawita-Gawroński, Władysław A. Serczyk, Petr Mirchuk, and Grigorij Hraban. Authors agree with the opinion that the historian does not judge, but tries to understand. The common Polish-Ukrainian research program on the haidamaks and Koliyivshchyna, thanks to which at least necessary queries and a discrepancy report will be developed, remains a main postulate. Only in that way the vivid use of history for current ideology and shaping of young generation will be minimized. Unfortunately, apart from substantive arguments, still there will remain other arguments of ideological or political context. The point is, however, that a discourse on Polish-Ukrainian relations in various epochs should be reduced to a normal scientific discussion that should take into account limitations resulting from cultural imputation only, the fact that has not been preserved on the part of both Ukrainian, and Polish side so far.

The creative process in Malang mask making has a strong tradition of creation which has produced a unique form. The Malang mask art has been popularized based on the Panji story. Despite being properties of an art performance, the masks are works of art. The visual characteristics of the faces and their carved ornaments are the main elements that determine the typology of the mask’s facial appearance. The characteristics of form, color, expression, and function create a unique style or identity of the group of traditional mask artists in Malang. Masks can be classified according to four general types of character: the figure of Panji, antagonistic characters, servants, and animals. In terms of the traditionality of creation, including aspects of material, technique, and function in the community of craftsmen, the style of the masks refers to previously existing forms. This essay is a qualitative description of the artistry of Malang masks, through the formation of the Panji story – based on kidung as indigenous stories in the practice of adaptive Hinduism – and leaning on a dichotomy with the Kakawin form. Malang masks are used by the wayang topeng community in art performances to present the narration of the Panji story – against the spiritual cultural background of the common people.

Problem Statement. The article regards specific features of film reviews being a relevant subject of research. Seen as an epitext a review serves as a cinema text constituent. The latter includes the film itself, trailers, posters, advertisements, critical comments. Such an approach proves of principal importance and novelty. Results. Epitext is considered as a paratext constituent together with peritext and aims at commenting the main text meaning the film. It is the epitext that contributes to the cinema text designed functioning as a holistic system. Linguocultural potential of review is reflected in the latter belonging to certain culture, which determines the information presented in the form of cultural codes for the audience as representatives of the same cultural group to decode. The code that proves impossible to decode or triggers misunderstandings adds to inability to reach the pragmatic aim of a review which is not only to inform the reader about the film release but also to impact them, forming their opinion about the film. It is how the advertising and promotional functions are realized - the author tends to «lure» the audience, persuading to watch the film or, on the contrary, not to waste time on it. Conclusion. The functions enlisted to be realized along with an attempt to prove the information presented is relevant call for the reviewer to be clear and scrupulous in selecting self-identification options. The author’s identity takes the form of evaluative structures. The latter reflecting and relying on the author’s cultural background contribute to the pragmatic potential of the review structuring the cultural context taking into account the audience’s cultural background. Moreover, the review designs and demonstrates the author’s view of the film plot in concordance with the value system communicated by the reviewer as an individual as well as social addresser. The latter function is also realized due to evaluation markers.

The common agricultural policy over the years has expanded the tools of promotion and protection of farm produce quality. At the national level but also from Europe we are witnessing a change in consumer behavior: they become more and more relevant information needs, safety and food security, increasing demand for quality products and the willingness to pay for those products that meet consumer expectations. The paper focuses on the perceived quality of local products in order to identify those variables that influence purchasing decisions and dietary habits and consumer group. The survey was conducted using a principal components analysis to summarize the information that characterizes the choices of consumption, followed by cluster analysis which allowed us to confirm the presence of different segments of consumers of local products.

As new cancer treatment regimens demonstrate increased potential to improve patients’ survival, more focus is directed toward the quality of that extension of life and to obtaining additional information from patients regarding their experience with treatment. The utility of capturing patient-reported treatment-related symptoms to complement traditional clinician-rated symptomatic adverse event reporting is well-documented. The National Cancer Institute’s Patient-Reported Outcomes version of the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events is an item library aimed at capturing patient-reported symptoms to inform the patient perspective on a treatment’s tolerability. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has recommended using the Patient-Reported Outcomes version of the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events in clinical trials. A practical guideline is needed to inform a priori selection of specific Patient-Reported Outcomes version of the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events items for use in any given industry-sponsored oncology clinical trial. Standardizing this selection process will foster systematic and consistent data collection as part of drug development and enhance our knowledge on how to use patient-relevant information as part of a treatment’s risk/benefit assessment. This article presents methods and consensus recommendations for selecting specific Patient-Reported Outcomes version of the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events items to include in early-phase and late-phase oncology clinical trials.

In this paper, we focus on the relationships between international accounting harmonization (IAH) and the paradigm of Fair Value Accounting (FVA). Accountants rely on the accounting concept of comparability in defining IAH and are in agreement that a set of internationally implemented Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required for a “complete harmonization.” We argue, however, that a second requirement—a common denominator for measuring, recording, and reporting business transactions, assets, liabilities, and equities—is necessary to reach a state of a “complete IAH.” We explain the logic behind the requirement of a common denominator and assert that IAH is feasible under the paradigm of FVA, but not under that of Historical Cost Accounting (HCA). This is true because the concept of fair value, but not historical cost, provides the common denominator necessary for a meaningful comparison of accounting data. We then argue that the paradigm of FVA acts as a catalyst in a harmonization cycle: FVA propels IAH and IAH provides more relevant information that may foster the efficiency of global markets, which improves the quality of the FVA figures.
