The article dwells on the problem of theoretical elaboration and implementation of competency-based approach in education as one of the conditions of modern higher school development and a way to eliminate contradictions between education results and labour market demands to graduates` level of preparation. The concept of key competences, possession of which can assist personal success in different life spheres is concretized.Differences between competency-oriented and traditional education are defined; it is stressed out that within competency-oriented education students should not only get knowledge but also use them for solving social and professional problems often characterized by indefinite factors, lack of data; the necessity of re-orientation to research and practice-oriented students` educational activity is proved.The article justifies the necessity of the cultural and educational surrounding creation (surrounding, that allows a student to realize the responsibility for the choice of content and forms of activities) as a requirement to satisfy the students` need to develop professional competence. The article stresses out the peculiarity of lecturer`s role in the cultural and educational surrounding of a higher educational establishment, having possibilities to satisfy students` need in the development of professional competence by providing them a choice of content and form of an individual organization of educational process and provision of appropriate tools. It is stated, that with the aid of the cultural and educational surrounding, a positive value orientation of learning is made and positive behavior experience is shared.

For effective forming of creative competence in future social work experts, we suggested using the creative approach to organization of educational process in a higher educational establishment, using the potential of different disciplines in the process of professional training. We clarified the main aspects of shaping of creative competence in future social workers in classroom and outside classroom, as well as main forms of the methodology of such training. The use of the mentioned approaches will give an opportunity to shape creative competence in future social workers for work with gifted children.

The article identifies the structure of translator’s professional competence, grounds its model and suggests the ways of its implementation. The following sub-competences necessary to be acquired by future translators have been identified and analyzed with the aim of providing best training: linguistic competence, intercultural competence, subject (thematic) competence, instrumental competence, psychophysiological competence, interpersonal competence, strategic competence, self-reflection competence. The role of the subject (thematic) competence for specialized translation is analyzed. The ways of the translator’s professional competence model implementation are highlighted.

The complexity of the components of the complex cartographic literacy and subject-oriented methodological professional competence, as well as the process of their formation, requires the use of specific diagnostic tools and parametric and nonparametric methods and techniques for quantitative and qualitative analysis. The subject of this paper is the model of the processing of data from the study, the main results found during the experimental work and their statistical and qualitative analysis.

При написанні статті автор переслідував мету висвітлення переходу української школи у тридцятих роках до предметної системи навчання, яка мала стати базисною основою побудови нової політехнічної школи. Вона передбачала озброєння підростаючого покоління системою теоретичних знань, достатніх для продовження навчання у вищих навчальних закладах та формування практичних навичок і вмінь, необхідних для швидкого опанування робітничими професіями. Це зумовлювалося завданнями розбудови держави у 30-ті роки ХХ століття. Ключові слова: система навчання, предметне навчання, політехнічна школа, теоретичні знання.  Writing this article the author aimed to illuminate the transition of the Ukrainian school in thirties to the subject system of education, wish had become the basis of  creation of a new politechnic school. It foresaw the younger generation’s arming  with the system at theoretical knowledge sufficient enough for continuation of studying in higher educational establishments and forming practical habits and skills  necessary for a quick mastering working trades. It followed from the state-building tasks in thirties of the ХХ century. Key words: system of education, subject of teaching, polytechnic school, teoretical knowledge.
