This article is a continuation of the series of articles by the authors on defects and damages of industrial buildings, it describes typical defects in coating structures - trusses and coating plates, the causes of defects, the consequences of which can lead to the development of the revealed damage, recommendations for assessing the technical condition and recommendations for eliminating the identified damage. The article also provides a generalized analysis of the causes of defects and the most likely areas of damage formation.

Effective production activities of organizations is impossible without the concept implementation of the constant reproduction of capital assets, a significant part of which is represented by buildings and structures for various functional purposes. Increased deterioration of industrial buildings does not allow to solve such important tasks as improvement and automation of production processes in their entirety, and has a negative impact on the working conditions and safety of personnel. The analysis of scientific and normative literature is showed that the issue under consideration requires further research. Author’s approach to the reproduction of capital assets, the use of which allows to increase the management decisions efficiency on the basis of a complex of tasks for the joint estimation of damage and deterioration, planning of works under the given constraints with the use of mathematical apparatus and technological solutions for monitoring the technical condition of buildings is presented in the article.

The urgency of the issue being studied is determined by widespread large-scale implementation of ground penetrating radar (GPR) method within the study practice of technical state of various engineering-geological sites over a long operational period. Such buildings and structures as dams, architectural landmarks, residential and industrial buildings, temples and churches, roadways and takeoff runways may be referred to main engineering and geological sites which have been studied via ground penetrating radar method. Cracks of different length, orientation and opening, as well as cavities of various localization, being distinguished by filling material, are the main types of irregularities in the above-mentioned sites, which were being formed in the process of prolonged or improper operation. However, due to vastness of the irregularities being studied and the impossibility to include all the types of possible defects into this article, we have settled on the cavities which are the most commonly encountered in the course of practice only. This article considers the approach to analysis of the electromagnetic wave field frequency characteristics being applied during conducting ground penetrating radar studies of irregularities in the structure of engineering-geological sites on the basis of the results of electromagnetic wave fields mathematical simulation, and of the results obtained in experimental studies at real engineering-geological sites as well. There has been proposed a method based of inverse Fourier transformation for studying spectrum shift in georadargrams. The georadargram is a set of registered signals, which is obtained during even movement of the georadar along the survey line. Due to that, this article is aimed at attraction of analysis of wave electromagnetic field attributes in addition to standard methods of ground penetrating radar (GPR) data processing and interpretation, which allows to extend significantly prospect capabilities of GPR method by obtaining extra data on heterogeneous zones parameters at engineering and geological sites, and, thus, proceed from qualitative notions on technical condition of studied object to quantitative ones.

The article deals with the issues related to the assessment of the technical condition of structural elements, taking into account the stages of engineering research, design and installation. The importance of the topic under consideration is due to a large number of accidents at civil and industrial facilities that occur before the exhaustion of the bearing capacity. The analysis of the object (the metal frame of industrial buildings) is carried out on the basis of project documentation, data obtained by a full-scale survey, visual and instrumental control, numerical methods of research. The qualitative and quantitative parameters of the capital construction object necessary for assessing the technical condition are presented. They include design schemes of frame structures, materials, their characteristics, defects and parameters. The study shows the importance of comprehensive assessment of capital construction facilities in terms of constructive safety. Identification of errors at each stage of construction allows to prevent emergencies that lead to the destruction of the load-bearing system and to develop measures to establish the possibility (impossibility) of repair or reconstruction

The article discusses the main reasons for the physical wear and tear of metal crane beams of industrial buildings at hazardous production facilities. The analysis of the existing methods for determining the physical wear and the residual life of various structures, as well as regulatory and technical documentation, regulating the issue of conducting inspections of structures and the appointment of the technical condition of structures is carried out. The analysis of characteristic defects and damages of welded crane beams and an analysis of their influence on the bearing capacity is made. The dependence of the amount of physical wear and tear on the duration of operation of crane girders has been investigated. A method is proposed for determining the physical wear and tear of individual structures on the basis of their effect on the bearing capacity of the structure and their operational characteristics, based on the existing methods for determining the physical wear of structures of non-industrial buildings. A method is proposed for determining the residual life of metal structures by the Poisson method, depending on the degree of physical wear and the duration of operation. The use of this technique provides more accurately approach the determination of the residual life of building structures when conducting an industrial safety examination. Based on these data, it is more reasonable to approach the reconstruction, strengthening or overhaul of existing structures, as well as their complete or partial replacement.

Due to the excess operating life of the operating coke oven batteries in Ukraine, it is necessary to systematically carry out repairs to maintain the proper technical condition of the fixed assets of the coke oven production, primarily coke oven batteries. The article provides definitions of such concepts as the system of scheduled preventive maintenance of industrial buildings and structures, the system of maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment, maintenance, current repairs, major repairs, and the like. A classification of coke oven masonry repairs according to the scope of work, conditions and time of performance is stated, as well as documents regulating the procedure for their implementation are named. A brief overview of the types of repairs that are used to maintain the technical condition of coke oven batteries: preventive and current repairs (gunning, etc.), Medium repairs (partial relocation of the heads of the regenerator walls, heating walls and replacement of the reflowed packing), overhaul, which consists of partial re-laying a group of furnaces in a cold state (repairing furnace masonry with shifting walls to different depths, repairing and replacing reinforcement, repairing and replacing chimney and gas supply fittings). The main defects of coke oven battery masonry, which are subject to major repairs, are listed. It is noted that the cold group partial relocation of the furnaces is performed with gradual cooling and heating, which requires a complete or partial cessation of operation of the chambers adjacent to the ones being repaired (buffer and semi-buffer furnaces). It is emphasized that the work performed as part of the overhaul is determined by the technical condition of the battery, regardless of its age. It is noted that in modern conditions, the most effective is the relocation of the extreme and pre-extreme verticals of the coking chamber to a depth of 4-6 verticals on both sides without disconnecting the repaired chamber from heating. Приведены данные исследования и применения нового способа идентификации коррозии систем внутреннего водопровода, изготовленных из стальных оцинкованных труб. Способ может быть использован для периодического мониторинга технического состояния систем холодного и горячего водоснабжения жилых, общественных и производственных зданий. Способ основан на определении в составе осадка на тестовом образце продуктов коррозии, в частности цинка и меди, входящих в состав металла трубопроводов и оборудования. Техническим результатом предлагаемого решения является возможность его применения непосредственно с начала эксплуатации системы водоснабжения, а также сокращение времени для идентификации коррозии трубопроводов и оборудования в ходе продолжительной эксплуатации.The data on the research and application of a new method for identifying corrosion of house water plumbing made of galvanized steel pipes are presented. The method can be used for regular monitoring of the technical condition of cold and hot water supply systems made of galvanized steel pipes in residential, public and industrial buildings. The method is based on determining corrosion products of pipelines and equipment, zinc and copper in particular, on a test biscuit. The technical result of the proposed solution is the possibility of its application directly from the start of the operation of the water supply system as well as reducing the time to identify the occurrence of corrosion of pipelines and equipment during longterm operation.

The analysis of the results of the examination of the technical condition of buildings and structures of enterprises in the sphere of public utilities has been carried out. The basic principles and methods of functional and technological renovation of architectural objects are revealed, accompanied by the transformation of the architectural space and planning schemes of industrial buildings and structures. A number of architectural and structural studies have been carried out in the direction of finding optimal technical solutions for repair, restoration of operational ability and reconstruction of industrial architecture objects in the field of public services for the purpose of their renovation. Technical reports based on the results of technical condition survey of building constructions of buildings and structures exploited for a long time, especially if there were long breaks in exploitation and maintenance, should include a section “Activities to renovate the object”. There is a need to adjust the regulatory framework for design and construction in order to speed up the process of “survey – renovation project – construction of the object”, as well as to restore and improve the base of the construction industry for the implementation of renovation projects. Complicating factors in the process of developing renovation projects of buildings and structures are the lack of design documentation for most facilities, lack of quality certificates for building structures and materials of buildings and structures, the long process from technical inspection to implementation of working design documentation, lack of interest of city authorities in development and renovation of service facilities.

The methodology contains principal provisions on defining reliability and accident risk of industrial buildings and establishes requirements necessary to identify the life expectancy of a building. The methods are intended to be used in diagnostics and identification of the technical condition and life expectancy of buildings that exceeded the lifespan established in their design, reference documentation or after accidents and renovations.
