In today's digital environment, using technology in learning is a requirement for staying relevant to the needs of the twenty-first century. The goal of this study is to develop learning tools that combine Project-based learning (PjBL) with STEM-based e-learning to assist students enhance their creative thinking skills and self-regulation. This study is a quantitative descriptive study using a one-shot case study research design and a research sample of 25 high school students in class for the academic year 2020/2021. The N-Gain score is used to collect data using test and non-test instruments before and after treatment to assess if there is an improvement in learning outcomes. All indicators of critical thinking skills and self-regulation increased as a result of the study. On the fluency indicator, the creative thinking skills indicator received the highest score of 0.86, while self-regulation received the biggest rise on the organizing and transforming indicator with a score of 0.83. The average increase in critical thinking skills is 73.66 percent, and the average rise in self-regulation is 79.42 percent, both of which are high

To prepare people to live in the 21st century successfully, it is needed more than subject contents. It is very crucial for the people to know in how to apply their skills and knowledge by critical thinking, using knowledge in new situations, comprehending new ideas, collaborating, communicating, problems solving, decision making and so on. This research is an innovation of disruptive education that aims to design learning models that can empower students' critical thinking skills through descriptive analysis based on data and literature review. This study used a sample of 180 high school students in the city of Surakarta, Indonesia. The results of the measurement of students' critical thinking skills in the category are very lacking in all aspects, for instance, 52.80% of analysis aspect, 37.28% of inference aspects, 45.16% of explanation aspect, 35.01% of self-regulation aspect are in very low criteria as well as 41.14% of interpretation aspects in very poor criteria. The results of measurement of students' creative thinking skills also shows very concerning category in all aspects involving: fluency of 45.83% of fluency aspect, 42.50% of flexibility aspect, 44.86% originality aspect, and 47.50% of elaboration aspect are all in very low criteria. Literature review results also found that chemistry teachers’ design model has not maximized the ability to think critically so that it needs a learning design that can empower critical thinking skills. Through a data-based literature study a form of inquiry social complexity (ISC) model was formulated to empower critical thinking skills.

One of the problems faced in education in the 21st century is the critical thinking skills of students who are still considered lacking. One of the learning tools that need to be improved to help improve students' critical thinking skills is the Student Worksheet (LKPD). This study aims to describe the effectiveness of LKPD on the concept of Structure and Function of Plant Tissue Based on Critical Thinking Skills. The validation subjects were 3 experts, individual test subjects were 3 high school class XI students and small group test subjects were 6 class XI high school students. This type of research is development research to produce valid, practical, and effective products. The results showed that the effectiveness of LKPD expectations based on the assessment of students' critical thinking skills in working on LKPD had both categories (including interpretation, analysis, inference, and explanation) and very good categories (including self-regulation). Interpersonal skills (collaborating) and intrapersonal skills (meticulous) students have very good categories.

The study was conducted to develop science module based on project-based learning that is feasible to be implemented in science learning and has potency to build critical thinking skills of junior high school students. The study was Research and Development (RD), modified from Borg Gall steps covering only research and information collecting, planning, preliminary form of product development, expert judgment, product revision, and final product. The subjects were 2 expert lecturers (content expert and media expert) and 2 science teachers of SMP N 1 Wonosari. The types of data were quantitative and qualitative. Data were collected by means of SSP validation sheets and disaster preparedness identification sheets. The techniques of data analysis were descriptive analysis of qualitative and quantitative to 5 grading scale. The result of the study shows that science module is feasible to be implemented in science learning and has potency to build critical thinking skills of junior high school students.

This study aims to determine the critical thinking skills of class X science students in Talang Ubi District on virus material. Type of quantitative descriptive research. The population of all students of class X Science in Talang Ubi District. The sample used in class X IPA 1 in SMA Negeri 1 Talang Ubi, SMA Negeri 2 Unggulan Talang Ubi, and SMA YKPP Pendopo. Data collection techniques using purposive sampling. Retrieval of data using instruments about the ability to think critically on virus material using the framework developed by Facione (2013), consist of five indicators namely: interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, explanation, and self-regulation. The results of the study of Critical Thinking Ability in the District of Talang Ubi can be categorized as low, with a percentage value of 59.26%. For the average number of indicators obtained in Talang Ubi District, namely: interpretation indicator has a percentage of 87.94%, and analytical indicator of 60.27%, and evaluation indicator of 45.52%, an inference indicator of 52.83%, an explanatory indicator by 40.00% and self-regulation indicators by 69.01%. This study can be concluded that the critical thinking ability of high school students of class X IPA in Talang Ubi sub-district on virus material is categorized as low. These results indicate that strategies, teaching materials, and learning media need to be developed to facilitate students' thinking skills.

This research is aimed to develop learning device of Guided Discovery model with PhET simulation to trill students critical thinking skill. This research uses 4D development model and tested on 15 students of class XII IPA with test design using one group pretest-posttest design. Learning tools developed include: (a) syllabus (b) RPP, (c) student books, (d) LKS, and (e) tests students' critical thinking skills. Research data obtained through validation method, observation, test, and questionnaire. The results are analyzed descriptively quantitative and qualitative. The students' critical thinking ability is analyzed by n-gain. The result of the research shows that (a) learning device developed categorized is very valid, (b) learning activity is done very well, (c) critical thinking ability of students have moderate improvement, and (d) students respond very positively to learning which has been implemented. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it was concluded that the learning device of Guided Discovery with PhET simulation model developed is feasible to be used for trained critical thinking skills of high school students.

<p>The purpose of this study was to determine the profile of critical thinking skills of senior high school students. The paper-based essay questions and the questionnaires were used as the instruments to measure critical thinking skills in daily chemistry problems, which is based on Facione’s critical thinking aspects included interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, explanation, and self-regulation. The research was conducted in one of government senior high school in Central Java, Indonesia. The descriptive-qualitative method was used for the research method. The qualitative approach was used to analyze the data by using essay questions and questionnaires. The criteria for critical thinking skills were categorized as null, low, medium, and high. The result showed that most of the students have weak or low skill in critical thinking, especially in analysis, evaluation, explanation, and self-regulation whether their skill of interpretation and inference are medium. This finding can be used to develop a new strategy in teaching chemistry related to critical thinking skill.</p><p> </p>

This research aims to describe the initial ability of critical thinking, of high school students in Surakarta on static fluid. This study is part of the learning tools development study to improve critical thinking ability. The critical thinking skills test is compiled into ten questions. The analyzed critical thinking skills are students' critical thinking abilities before a model is applied that is expected to develop a student's critical thinking skills. This research includes descriptive research. The subjects of this study were 35 students of Class XI in SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta. The data collection methods used are test methods. Data analysis techniques use quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the achievement of critical thinking in the analysis aspect with sub-skills of detecting arguments and analyzing arguments was 41,75%. The inference aspect with sub-skills of making a logical conclusion was 29,25%. The interpretation aspect with sub-skills of classifying the meaning was 44,1 %. The explanation aspect with sub-skills of stating re-sults, justifying procedures, and presenting arguments was 57,7%. And the evaluation aspect with sub-skills of assess the credibility and assess the quality of arguments was 24,65%. These results show that students' critical thinking skills are still low, especially in evaluation aspects.

This research is aimed to produce physics learning instrument with appropriate project based learning models and be able to train critical thinking skills in senior high school students. The research was conducted in the second semester of 2018/2019 academic year in the Senior High School of Amanatul Ummah Surabaya. Learning instrument developed refers to the design of 4-D development. The data were collected by observation, tests, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis techniques used include analysis of validity. The results showed that the learning instrument developed (syllabus, lesson plans, teaching materials, student worksheet, and critical thinking skills test instruments) were valid categories, it can be concluded that the learning instrument developed has satisfy the criteria of validity so that it is worth using to train critical thinking skills in students.

Students in Indonesia have problems in critical reading competence and understanding in the field of science in the form of misconceptions. This is indicated by the fact that students in Indo-nesia are only able to solve routine problems and will have difficulty when faced with unusual problems. In addition, this problem is also exacerbated by the unavailability of laboratory facili-ties and the process of critical thinking skills has not been implemented properly. The purpose of this study was to develop science learning tools to improve the critical thinking skills of junior high school students on additive and addictive substances. This study uses the development of learning tools with the Tessmer model. Starting from the self-evaluation stage, prototyping (vali-dation, evaluation/FGD, and revision), then field test. The learning tools developed include the syllabus, lesson plans, teaching materials, LKPD, assessment sheets, and LP to practice critical thinking skills. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, teacher and student activities, documentation, and tests of learning outcomes and critical thinking. The trial subjects were 51 people who were divided into 3 stages of prototype testing with different stu-dents at each stage. The results of the development and research show that the learning tools de-veloped are considered practical so that they are feasible to use. The results of the research find-ings are that there is a tendency for the initial knowledge level of students to be weak and low concept understanding caused by interest in learning and low literacy levels.Keywords: guided inquiry, science, critical thinking skills, development research. AbstrakPeserta didik di Indonesia mempunyai permasalahan dalam kompetensi membaca kritis dan pemahaman pada bidang studi IPA dalam bentuk miskonsepsi. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan peserta didik di Indonesia hanya mampu menyelesaikan permasalahan rutin dan akan mengalami kesulitan ketika menghadapi masalah yang tidak biasa. Selain itu permasalahan ini juga diperparah dengan tidak tersedianya fasilitas laboratorium dan proses keterampilan berpikir kritis belum dilaksanakan dengan baik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran IPA untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMP pada materi zat aditif dan adiktif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran dengan model Tessmer. Mulai dari tahap Self-evaluation, prototyping (validasi, evaluasi/FGD, dan revisi), kemudian field test. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan meliputi silabus, RPP, materi ajar, LKPD, lembar penilaian, dan LP untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritisnya. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, aktivitas guru dan peserta didik, dokumentasi, dan tes hasil belajar dan berpikir kritis. Subjek uji coba sebanyak 51 orang yang terbagi dalam 3 tahapan uji prototipe dengan siswa yang berbeda di tiap tahapannya. Hasil pengembangan dan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dinilai praktis sehingga layak untuk digunakan. Hasil temuan penelitian yaitu ada kecenderungan tingkat pengetahuan awal peserta didik yang lemah serta pemahaman konsep yang rendah yang disebabkan oleh minat belajar dan tingkat literasi yang rendah.Kata kunci: inkuiri terbimbing, IPA, keterampilan berpikir kritis, penelitian pengembangan.
