Abstract This research was conducted to determine the partial or simultaneous influence of entrepreneurship motivation, entrepreneurship learning and the using of social media on entrepreneurship interest of Economics Education departement students class of 2017, State University of Malang. The research method in this research is quantitative with the type of explanatory research. The population in this study were undergraduate students of Economics Education class of 2017 State University of Malang, with a total sample of 100 students. The sampling technique used purposive sampling and primary data collection using a questionnaire. The analysis prerequisite tests in this study include normality, multicollinearity and heteroscedasticity. The data analysis technique in this study used multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The results of the study show (1) partially there is an effect of entrepreneurship motivation on entrepreneurship interest, (2) partially there is an influence of entrepreneurship learning on entrepreneurship interest, (3) partially there is an effect of using social media on entrepreneurship interest, and (4) simultaneously there is an influence of entrepreneurship motivation, entrepreneurship learning and the using of social media on entrepreneurship interest. The conclusion of this study is that there is an influence of entrepreneurship motivation, entrepreneurship learning and the using of social media on entrepreneurship interest of Economics Education departement student at Malang State University class of 2017. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan pengaruh parsial atau simultan dari motivasi kewirausahaan, pendidikan kewirausahaan dan penggunaan media sosial pada minat berwirausaha mahasiswa jurusan pendidikan ekonomi, Universitas Negeri Malang, tahun 2017. Penelitian ini merupakan penilitian kuantitatif dengan tipe penelitian eksplanatori. Sampel dari penelitian ini merupakan 100 mahasiswa jurusan pendidikan ekonomi, Universitas Negeri Malang, tahun 2017. Sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan data didapatkan melalui kuesioner. Tes statistic prasyarat pada penelitian ini meliputi tes normalitas, multikolinearitas, dan heteroskedastisitas. Teknik regresi linear berganda digunakan untuk proses analisa data. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa (1) adanya efek partial dari motivasi kewirausahaan pada minat berwirausaha, (2) adanya efek partial dari pendidikan kewirausahaan pada minat berwirausaha, (3) adanya efek partial dari penggunaan media sosial pada minat berwirausaha, dan (4) adanya efek simultan dari motivasi berwirausaha, pendidikan kewirausahaan, dan penggunaan media sosial pada minat berwirausaha. Sehingga, motivasi kewirausahaan, pendidikan kewirausahaan, dan penggunaan media sosial membawa pengaruh pada minat berwirausaha mahasiswa pendidikan ekonomi tahun 2017, Universitas Negeri Malang.

This study aimed to assess the impacts of social media gadgets on academic performance of the students. The study was conducted in two randomly selected universities in Punjab, i.e., University of Agriculture Faisalabad and University of Sargodha. The sample size for the study was 200 (100 from each university) purposively selected undergraduate students enrolled in B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture. Data was collected through the valid, pre-tested and structured questionnaire and analyzed through SPSS. Descriptive statistics was applied for the meaningful interpretation of the results. The results of the study showed that average age of the respondents was 21.09 years. Of the total respondents, 59.8% belonged to rural areas and 40.5% belonged to urban areas. Less than half (46%) of respondents were small farmers and 13.5% had no land. Most of the respondents (76.3%) were owners of their lands. Farming was the key income source for 58% respondents. Average area under cultivation was perceived 10.61 acres. Regarding use of social media gadgets, 87.5% of respondents had an account on WhatsApp for contacts and information sharing thus WhatsApp was the widely used gadget (x̄=3.42±1.30). Pertaining to use of social media gadgets, improved students’ confidence (x̄=3.28), developing high quality multimedia products such as presentations (x̄=3.27), enhanced opportunity of discussion (x̄=3.26), enforcement and encouragement to independent learning (x̄=3.19) were the leading impacts as perceived by the respondents on their academic performance. This study affirms the overwhelmed effectiveness of social media and urged universities to develop a framework to integrate social media in educational system.

Purpose The use of social media is prevalent and having the largest number of members than any other online platform available on the internet. Members of all age groups use social media websites according to their needs. This study aims to investigate the impact of social media usage on the academic performance of college students in Kashmir. Design/methodology/approach A structured questionnaire was formulated and a survey was carried out to collect data from the undergraduate students of different government colleges in Kashmir. The questionnaires were distributed randomly among both, male and female of the first, second and third year students of different undergraduate programs. Findings The findings show a majority of the students use social media networking sites to fulfill their educational needs. YouTube is the most largely used social media network among undergraduate students. A majority of the students feel that social media networks are easy to use and they have been using these sites for the past three years. The use of social media greatly helps the students to share knowledge and information with others, to improve their academic grades and to improve their reading and writing skills. A majority of the students spend an hour in using social media networks. Students use their laptops, mobile phones and personal computers to access social media websites. Social implications This study will help to highlight the important role of social media networks in the pedagogical activities of students. Originality/value This study affirms that students do use social media networking sites for academic purposes, which is a good factor to improve their academic skills and grades. Teachers must encourage their students to make the best use of social media networking sites for recreational and academic purposes.

<p>The purpose of the study is to investigate knowledge acquisition using social media among final semester students in the Faculty of Information Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). This study used a survey method to collect data. A total of 173 respondents answered to this survey questionnaire which was a self-developed questionnaire. The questionnaire measures the methods of knowledge acquisition through social media, factors influencing knowledge acquisition through social media, and students’ academic performance who acquire knowledge through social media. The results showed that respondents quite agree on the methods of knowledge acquisition through social media (Mean=3.35) and factors influencing knowledge acquisition (Mean=3.49) and about their academic performance (Mean=3.83). The implication of the study is that the academic institutions and organizations can use this study in enhancing the students’ academic performance and productivity in the organization by using social media as a medium to acquire knowledge. For future study, the study can highlight on barriers in knowledge acquisition through social media and extending the target population to the employees in the organizations.</p>
