The modern visual communication design has experienced a transition from the industrial society to information society, expanding the scope of design, every time the media and changes in technology have given the new connotation. Interesting interactive new media art experience to inject vitality into the visual communication design, interactive visual communication design make the works as a starting point, to guide the audience participation, and interpret new information, which led to the integrity of the information communication. New media art is the "one" and media art, between art and technology, with the development of science and technology continue to spread content and form their own. The interactive nature of the interesting experience and high-tech magic of visual communication design works blur the media art and visual communication design limits, expand and deepen the field of visual communication design.

This paper provides an in-depth study and analysis of big-data-driven data visualization and visual communication design models. The characteristics of new media and the definition of traditional media are analyzed; the importance of the new media environment is derived through comparison; and the successful cases of new media integration today are analyzed. In this process, we will optimize the traditional science and technology intelligence service model, optimize the various components that make up the science and technology intelligence wisdom service, achieve model optimization and reflect the four characteristics of science and technology intelligence wisdom service, and reconstruct the science and technology intelligence wisdom service using the literature research method. The design based on imagery schema theory is manifest, inclusive, and somewhat innovative and at the same time has a high degree of consistency and internal logical relationship with the visual representation of multidomain heterogeneous data at the cognitive level and displays purpose. This internal logical relationship is systematically organized and deeply analyzed, and the methodology from subpattern extraction and visual interaction design to the deep integration of visual representation is proposed in combination with specific application scenarios and cases.

Arts and Technology has been involved in an interaction with each other since the existence of Human being. Technological innovations have not only included the society but also the art. ’The New Media’concept which has been the focus of this issue has also affected the visual communication design. The visual communication design has acreative process in which the technology and design are combined and communication is established. Additionally, the decrease in the interest in desktop publishing has led to the development of the concept of ‘the new media.’The new media design concept has been an important field especially in the developing countries. Because, in our century where competency almost disclaims right of living to the other, the companies and trademarks are making use of the power of visual communication design in order to bring up their productions one step forward than the others, to boost their pre-occupyingness, and to turn will of purchasing into permanency. In this study, the reasons for the innovation-visual communication design into the digital field, along with the new media concept have been addressed. Keywords: new media, visual communication design, design, digital, mass communication, consumer.

Color is the dominant element of visual communication design. For cities, color is one of their characteristics. Improving the overall style of a city through the control and planning of architectural color has been a hot issue in urban control and planning in recent years. Considering color pollution in urban planning, we analyze the important role of color in visual communication design from the perspective of the visual communication concept of media art. The current situation of residential building colors in Shanghai City is investigated. We determine the residents’ preferences and requirements related to architectural exterior color on the basis of a data analysis of color and material selection, color matching, composition, and others. This study changes the traditional architectural color design concept that centers on individuals and lacks overall control. Specifically, we construct a set of multi-scale color controlling and planning systems at the macro-, meso-, and micro-scales. We also guide and control the urban architectural color such that it is in accordance with the systematic color planning strategy. This method enables the systematic and holistic external color planning of urban residential buildings.
