This devotion was accomplished because it was found that the implementation of learning with the 2013 curriculum had difficulties, many teachers did not yet understand how to learn the scientific approach. In addition, Muhammadiyah 3 Gresik Elementary School Teacher experience weaknesses in the development of assessment sheets and student worksheets (LKS) using only LKS from related agencies or certain publishers who collaborate with schools. The solution provided is assistance and implementation of a Lesson study with a Scientific approach. The results of the implementation of learning showed an increase from cycle I with an average of 56 to 88 in cycle II. Learning is much more interesting and vibrant. When learning the teacher freely controls the class so that students can study seriously but with a pleasant atmosphere. Thus it can be concluded that lesson study assistance carried out in grade 3 of Muhammadiyah 3 Gresik Elementary School was successful as expected. A program to train Elementary School teacher in developing science learning media has been conducted in Dapena Elementary School and St Theresia II Catholic Elementary School, Surabaya. The training aims to improve teachers’ skills on making science learning media and teachers’ understanding on science concepts. In this training, teachers have made science learning media on the themes of air, electricity, and energy. According to pre- and post-test result analysis, teachers gain knowledge on scientific approach learning and science concept related to air, electricity, and energy themes. The calculated gain of average can be categorized as medium gain. In addition, according to the evaluation by participants, the program has been conducted very well.

The aim of the research is to develop teaching materials of Indonesian education in beginning class of elementary school course based integrated science and social studies based Scientific Approach to optimize students competence in Elementary School Teacher Education Department. The specific objective of the first study to explain the validity of teaching materials of Indonesian education in beginning class of elementary school course based integrated science and social studies based Scientific Approach to optimize students competence in Elementary School Teacher Education Department. This study consists of two main steps: Firstly, to design teaching materials refers to the 4-D model of development; Secondly, to explain validity the teaching materials. Data collection techniques is questionaire. The research instrument consisted of Questionaire respon. Data from this study were analyzed by descriptive statistics, such as score of quesionaire Response students and lecturer. The results showed that the teaching materials of Indonesian education in beginning class of elementary school course based integrated science and social studies based Scientific Approach to optimize students competence in Elementary School Teacher Education Department was valid.
