Grounded on educational achievement data between 2005 and 2020 from the Digest of Educational Statistics, this paper makes the point that despite considerable academic achievements, Latinas continue to underperform when compared to women of other races and ethnicities while concurrently outscoring Latinos. When differential attainment rates are disaggregated among co-ethnics Latinas, there is enough evidence to suggest that national development and quality of life, particularly the rate of women’s participation in secondary schooling, condition the association between ethnicity, gender, and educational achievement. Besides contributing to the literature and methodology of transition rates, the research supports the advocacy for more inclusive and equitable educational attainment announced in Sustainable Development Goal 4 and it suggests that more attention should be paid to how transnationalism affects education.

AbstractEducational settings, both in and out of the school environment, not only affect one’s educational opportunities, but may also result in structural disadvantages and barriers. In this chapter, we explore political programs and initiatives aimed at improving educational opportunities and related settings on a local scale in Freiburg, Germany. Drawing upon educational statistics and biographical interviews conducted with adolescent students who are confronted with severe educational barriers, we sketch out a local pattern of fragmented geographies. Moreover, we critically assess how the local initiative “Lernen Erleben in Freiburg” (LEIF) implemented the national program “Lernen vor Ort” (Local Learning). With this example, we show that educational programs and initiatives—framed according to the New Public Management paradigm and neoliberal logics of competition, rankings, and best practices—have a limited potential to transform educational landscapes and work against educational inequalities and prevailing fragmented geographies of education.

The practical significance of the work lies in describing the functionality and features of these systems, the structure of their sets of indicators, as well as their potential for use in national systems of educational statistics and analytics: analysis of the current state and dynamics of education systems in different countries and their comparative analysis. As an example of the effective use of the international systems of educational statistics at the national level, a description of the system of educational analytics «The Conditions of Education» (USA) is presented. The main goal of the article is to provide information on the international systems for educational statistics and analytics to a wide range of citizens: the active members of the civic society, educators, researchers, experts in the field of national statistics and analytics, education leaders and policymakers for promoting the integration of Ukrainian education systems into the world and European education communities. This study aims to identify learning outcomes through the media used by students, focus student knowledge to determine the contribution of media in their learning, improve student expertise / knowledge, and provide opportunities for students to become innovative teachers. This research method applies descriptive qualitative data analysis and comparative quantitative. The research data was measured through test and non-test instruments. The research sample was FKIP students majoring in Indonesian and English through 2 general subjects, namely learning media and educational statistics. The results of the study have shown that the learning outcomes of the two majors do not show a significant difference. Furthermore, 24 questionnaire items showed that social media contributed more to student learning activities than audiovisual media. On the other hand, the observations show that students are more likely to behave negatively during research activities. Students feel uncomfortable if learning activities are dominated by media. Plus the imposition of online learning which requires virtual learning activities. So this research concludes that the existence of the media will be increasingly felt if it is collaborated with other relevant learning methods. Keywords: Media, Learning, Existence, FKIP Students

Background: National Education Policy 2020 aims to eliminate existing disparities in access to education for children from any gender or any under-represented group. After independence, India makes considerable strides in reducing gender gaps in education, but even today the goal of gender parity in school enrolments remains elusive. India provides Universal Elementary Education to all and this commitment has been articulated through Constitution, National Education Policies and other Innovative Programmes. All these initiatives put a strong emphasis on the education of girls and some of the programmes have been started particularly to eliminate gender gaps in school education. Purpose: This paper is an attempt to review the Innovative Programmes started by the Government of India to redress the gender gaps in school education and also to analyze the impact of these programmes on female literacy rates and enrolment rates of girls in elementary education. Before analyzing the innovative programmes and their impact on educational statistics, the paper briefly assesses the status of education in the Constitution of India and also studies the national policy perspective regarding universal elementary education of girls in the country in order to provide a sound background to this study. Methods: The method of document analysis for the review of policy documents and innovative programmes has been utilized and trend analysis method has been applied to study the educational statistics from the year 1950 to 2015. Results: The female literacy rates and enrolment of girls in total enrolments for the classes VI-VIII have registered an increase after the implementation of these programmes. Conclusions: It has been observed that these community-based programmes of the country have received a lot of international recognition for their contribution towards reducing gender gaps in elementary education. So, the experiences of these Innovative Programmes can prove quite beneficial for other countries struggling with gender gaps in school education.
