Dobiveni rezultati mogu pomoći u izradi edukativnih programa o suodnosu tjelesnog i mentalnog zdravlja te u savjetodavnom radu s osobama s izraženim psihosomatskim simptomima.

Research demonstrated that personality traits of fighter pilots have impact on their performance. The prediction of supersonic fighter pilots performance and professional success can be made by assessment of the levels of personality traits of those individuals that are selected to practice this profession. The present research examined if the personality traits (self-efficacy, orderliness, dutifulness and altruism) can predict the level of performance of the fighter pilots on supersonic aircraft, by using the “IPIP NEO” (International Personality Item Pool NEO) based on Big Five model and inter-evaluation method within group of supersonic fighter pilots. The results indicated that the high performance of supersonic aircraft fighter pilots can be predicted by high levels of above-mentioned personality traits and that there is a significant positive relation between those variables. The great need for success, the desire to adapt, to overcome their limitations and to face the difficulties, allow pilots to exercise their profession with all the special requirements of missions and the challenges in air combat.

There has been an increasing interest in personality study over the years. This has led to the necessity for personality measures with good psychometric properties. However, good personality measures are usually too cumbersome to apply in real practical settings due to their length. This study aims to validate a commonly used short personality measure of the Big Five model, i.e., Mini-IPIP (Mini International Personality Item Pool), which has never been validated and used in the substance abuse population in the local setting. The participants were 239 individuals attending one of the six methadone clinics in Malaysia. Structural analysis was conducted using confirmatory factor analysis. Results showed a good model fit for Mini-IPIP when item-parcelling and adding-in correlated uniqueness items were applied (fit indices: Comparative Fit Index = 0.949, Standardised Root Mean Residual = 0.044). Our study supported the five-factor solution for the Mini-IPIP. It is valid and reliable to be used among individuals with drug abuse in Malaysia.

Goldberg’s International Personality Item Pool (IPIP) big-five personality factor markers currently lack validating evidence. The structure of the 50-item IPIP was examined in two different adult samples (total N=811), in each case justifying a 5-factor solution, with only minor discrepancies. Age differences were comparable to previous findings using other inventories. One sample (N=193) also completed additionally another personality measure (the TIPI Short Form). Conscientiousness, extraversion and emotional stability/ neuroticism scales of the IPIP were highly correlated with those of the TIPI (r=0.62 to 0.65, P=0.01). Agreeableness and Intellect/Openness scales correlated less strongly (r=0.54 and 0.58 respectively, P=0.01). The IPIP scales have good internal consistency (a=0.88) and relate strongly to major dimensions of personality assessed by the two questionnaires.

In English, The game or game is an interactive activity that can quickly provide feedback between players and the system. Players can learn through discovery, practice, and feedback rather than absorb information so that it is easier to transfer the knowledge they gain from playing experience to the real world of work. The International Personality Item Pool - Neuroticism, Extraversion & Openness (IPIP-NEO) is a personality test based on the Big Five Personality theory in which the test takes the form of a questionnaire. The purpose of this research is to design an alternative media in using IPIP-NEO especially the neuroticism part in a simulation game. The problem raised was that IPIP-NEO's personality test was a questionnaire that did not provide a situation description of the questions asked to respondents. Based on existing problems, data collection in the form of literature studies, questionnaires, and interviews with experts, can be made the need for making games. The game results are then evaluated using a questionnaire aimed at samples from Non Probability Purposive Sampling. Based on the evaluation results from the questionnaire, NeuroTest gets 76% of users who feel that the results of the game provide the right depiction for themselves.

Indonesia is a big country with high pluralism. Country like Indonesia requires a high tolerance attitude. This research aimed to obtain the description about tolerance in the students based on personality type. The participants were 350 UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung’s students with quantitative approach. The variables were personality type and tolerance attitude. Personality types using a scale compiled from the Big Five theory formulated from the International Personality Item Pool (IPIP). Tolerance attitude was measured using the scale developed by van der Waltz. The results show that the type of personality Conscientious dominates the subject and there is no subject that has the Agreeableness type. From the four personality types, Analysis of Variance (Anova) found no significant difference in their tolerance attitudes. It seems that the majority of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati’s students have good moral values so they can tolerate the difference.

The aeronautical profession of fighter pilots on supersonic aircraft is strongly connected to the motivation, performance and excellence achievement-striving. The supersonic pilot represents the highest and most desirable position in the air force. Research showed that their selection is made by choosing the potential elite candidates after testing the physical, mental abilities and personality traits specific to this profession. The present research examined the personality trait of conscientiousness with achievement-striving facet in fighter pilots on supersonic aircrafts, by using the “IPIP NEO” (International Personality Item Pool NEO) based on Big Five by comparison of two groups, one of fighter pilots on supersonic aircraft and one of non-pilots. The results indicated that fighter pilots on supersonic aircraft have higher level of excellence achievement striving in their performance, they tend to be more competitive to become the best and the desire for victory is needed in their highly risky air missions.

A child’s disability is a risk factor for its parents experiencing parental burnout (PB). Here we investigate this problem in hearing mothers of deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) children. We look at the psychological dimension of the mothers’ personality in terms of the Big Five model, satisfaction with life (SWL), and posttraumatic growth (PTG). The study takes account of the sociodemographics of the mothers and their children and other factors related to the child’s deafness and their type of hearing assistance. The study was conducted through letters sent to 559 hearing mothers of which 29% responded. Responding mothers completed several questionnaires: the Parental Burnout Measure (PBM-12), International Personality Item Pool–Big Five Markers-20 (IPIP-BFM-20), Posttraumatic Growth Inventory (PTGI), and a general questionnaire. A VAS scale was used to assess SWL and satisfaction with the child’s rehabilitation. Results showed that the level of PB the mothers experienced was significantly lower than in mothers of children with non-deafness disabilities. SWL and emotional stability, intellect/imagination, agreeableness, extraversion, and satisfaction with the child’s rehabilitation were inversely correlated with PB, but only SWL and emotional stability were significant PB predictors. PTG in the mothers was at an average level and not correlated with PB. Similarly, the sociodemographic characteristics of mother and child and child’s deafness-related factors were not correlated with PB. Low levels of emotional stability and SWL are associated with vulnerability of the mothers to PB. Our finding of a lack of relationship between PB and PTG suggest that some mothers of deaf children may experience “illusory PTG”, which is related to avoidance-oriented coping strategies including denial coping.
