This paper presents a proof of concept for a Military Logistics Network Planning System (MLNPS) to be used during mission planning to quickly identify a robust logistical footprint that can adequately sustain units deployed in an expeditionary environment. The logistical network is modeled using an efficient form of goal-seeking deterministic discrete event simulation to process supply requisitions through the logistical network. The queuing information obtained from the simulation informs capacity adjustments to the network to maximize efficiency. This process of simulation and network tuning continues interactively until an adequate and robust logistical footprint is found. During the planning stages, the MLNPS can be used to identify and mitigate logistical problems instead of waiting to react to backlogs when the military's operations would have already been affected. Designed to run as an app on the Army's enterprise resource planning (ERP) system (Global Combat Support System-Army), the MLNPS can also be used during operations to inform commanders of expected operational impacts on logistics. Contingency operation scenarios are used to demonstrate the MLNPS' capabilities.

Uncertainty is rampant in military expeditionary operations spanning high-intensity combat to humanitarian operations. These missions require rapid planning and decision-support tools to address the logistical challenges involved in providing support in often austere environments. The US Army’s adoption of an enterprise resource planning system provides an opportunity to develop automated decision-support tools and other analytical models designed to take advantage of newly available logistical data. This research presents a tool that runs in near-real time to assess risk while conducting capacity planning and performance analysis designed for inclusion in a suite of applications dubbed the Military Logistics Network Planning System, which previously only evaluated the mean sample path. Logistical data from combat operations during Operation Iraqi Freedom drive supply requisition forecasts for a contingency scenario in a similar geographic environment. A nonstationary queueing network model is linked with a heuristic logistics scheduling methodology to provide a stochastic framework to account for uncertainty and assess risk.

The article is dedicated to pointing out the main principles of choosing modern enterprise resource planning (ERP) system for highly technological domestic enterprises. The article provides criteria for choosing ERP system and the risk group for their implementation. The close dependence of the success of the implementation of ERP systems on the proportion of projects for which the budget has not been exceeded has been revealed; the share of projects for which the excess of the actual period over the planned period of the project occurred and the share of implementation of solutions of the “box” type. The authors conclude that it is necessary to develop an information system that meets the specifics of a particular enterprise, as well as careful planning for the timing and cost of implementing this system.

The case describes the implementation process of an ERP (enterprise resource planning) system at Alimentos Peru, one of the largest foods manufacturing companies in Peru. It discusses the organization’s major concerns during the mid-1990s, including increasing competition, inefficiency of business processes, and lack of timely and accurate information. To address these concerns Alimentos Peru launched several projects, one of which involved the implementation of an ERP system. The case explains the criteria used to evaluate and select the system, as well as the main issues and problems that arose during the implementation process. More specifically, the case focuses upon a set of implementation factors, such as top management support, user participation, and project management. Finally, the case concludes with a discussion of the benefits obtained from the introduction of the system as well as the new organizational challenges.

The objective of this study is to examine the mediating role of enterprise resource planning (ERP) system adoption on the relationship between performance of medium enterprises (PMEs) and organizational culture (OC), communication process (CP), organizational structure (OS), information technology readiness (ITR), technological change (TC), government policy (GP), information access (IA) and technology infrastructure support (TIS). This study also includes the role of top management support (TMS) as a moderating variable on the relationship between ERP and PME. This study proposes a theoretical framework based on theories such as resource-based view, contingency theory and diffusion of innovation. The data were collected from medium-sized enterprise (ME) organizations operating in South Western Nigeria. A total of 658 questionnaires were distributed to selected MEs and only 355 were returned and used for the analysis. The empirical data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that CP, ERP, GP, IA, ITR, OC, OS, TC, TIS and TMS have significant direct relationships with the ERP and PME while GP is not significantly linked to ERP adoption. Moreover, IA, ITR, OC, OS and TC have no significant relationship with PME while ERP system adoption mediates the relationship between the CP, OC, OS, TC and TIS with PME. The findings showed that the presence of CP, OC, OS, TC and TIS will influence the PMEs in the adoption of ERP and confirmed that TMS plays an important role in moderating the relationship between ERP and PME. The findings provide important insights to CEO, managers, policymakers and researchers to help them understand the importance of using the ERP system to enhance the performance of medium-sized enterprise (PMSE) organizations. Limitation of the study is based on MEs only. In this light, future research can focus on the evolution of not only small enterprises but also large firms.

Abstract This paper proposes the application of the Analytic Hierarchy Process method to support decision making regarding the selection of an Enterprise Resource Planning system in a manufacturing company. The main assumption of the work is that the management of the selection of an ERP system should consider that the most important selection criteria are concerned with the functionality of the ERP system. Besides this, the aspects of total cost of ownership, technical support and implementation time or vendor experience are taken into consideration to guarantee a successful ERP implementation. The proposed procedure of an ERP system selection is dedicated for small and medium manufacturing enterprises. A structure of attributes for the AHP method is proposed on the basis of an analysis and identification of critical success factors. Different kinds of production (make-to-stock, make-to-order and engineer-to-order are taken into consideration). Illustrative examples are also given.

Enterprise Resource Planning, a collective integrated approach for all business solutions, has been broadly accepted across various industries since 1990 as the upcoming generation of Manufacturing Business System and Manufacturing Resource Planning software. ERP can be taken as to be “the cost of entry for running and growing a business” (Kumar and van Hillegersberg, 2000). An ERP is an information system, which seamlessly integrated and configured for planning, execution and managing all the resources and their maximum use in the enterprise, and streamlines and incorporates the business threads within and across the functional or technical boundaries in the enterprises. With the use of such information system, an organization can automate its elementary business requirements by reducing the complexity and cost of the related integrations for its components. Enterprise may also apply business process reengineering for optimum utilization of its ERP system, and finally output as growth in business can be recorded. Thus, ERP Security plays major role in protecting an organization business data and their employee’s and customer information as well. Study of Access Control Model of ERP Security is very important to keep the enterprise IT environment safe and secure. This paper focuses on the Risk of Fraudulent behavior of user roles across in terms of usage of ERP system. The case study used the information and data based on questionnaire and various inputs from industry experts.

The purpose of this evaluation is to evaluate user acceptance of the Glovia ERP system, whichever embedded in PC to assist operator staffs to record material stocks. The research methodology used in this study is the UTAUT model adjusted for the research problem's conditions. The issue happens because the Staff feel more comfortable with the old procedure and think it has supported their performance well. The respondents, as the sample in this study, are the staff operator from the MRP division. Data analysis is done using Partial Least Squares—the result of the research state that the Performance Expectancy variable has a significant effect on the Behavioral Intention variable. On the contrary, the other variables do not significantly affect the Behavioral Intention variable. The behavioral Intention variable has an R square value of 0.352 percent, which states that four independent variables can explain 35.2% of the Behavioral Intention variable. From the test results, it is suggested that the MRP division of PT can use the recommendations. Xacti Indonesia, as a consideration that can be used to improve the system currently applied.


The purpose of this research is to use the ERP system based on SAP with Financial Accounting module at PT. Kimia Farma, Tbk. The research methods used were data and information collection with observation, interviews, questionnaires, literature studies, and analysis with Fit / Gap Analysis methods. SAP Financial Accounting module which has been implemented by PT. Kimia Farma, Tbk is considered to have a degree of fit of 84.6154%, a degree of partiality of 10.2564%, and a degree of gap of 5.12821%. Thus, it is concluded that PT. Kimia Farma, Tbk information system according to the users' requirements in the gap in this research.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is an information system which integrates business functions and processes. ERP systems are widely used in different commercial organizations and industries. For a number of reasons, ERP can be the cause of success in an organization and help improve individual’s performance in an organization by supporting better decision making. It is especially useful in helping an organization improve its productivity, reduce its operational cost and improve quality by efficient use of resources and effective communication. ERP implementation strategy greatly influences an industry‘s business process performance and can help lower organizational resistance to it. It also plays a vital role for business process performance because there is a passionate reaction to ERP that is a characteristic response to change connected with new innovation in an organization. This work is conducted to evaluate the ERP implementation and its influence on enterprise infrastructure, especially how the business performance is improved. The method used in this study is survey based, using interviews from more than 100 experts from different organizations in Karachi, Pakistan. The results show significant role of ERP system in raising business process performance of the organizations. Overall, ERP system impacts heavily an industry in terms of business process performance and also helps improve individual performance, considering how organizational resistance is managed using various strategies and communicating well.
