LAN network design must also consider the cost budget so that the use of tools can be maximized and not cause losses. If the connection is problematic, then all types of applications that run through a computer network cannot be used. Computer network connection is a fundamental thing in a network because if a connection is problematic, then all types of applications that run through a computer network cannot be used. Cisco Packet Tracer can be used for simulations that reflect a picture of the computer network connection on the network system used. This paper designs two designs, namely the design with a star topology from one server using Cisco Packet Tracer software and connecting networks between computers. The results of this study are the connection between computer networks. This study was conducted to find out whether the server and client computers can communicate with each other

In a computer network system when using more than one router that is interconnected will experience a problem in the process of sending data packets. The problem is that if the main line is disconnected, then the data packet is unable to send data to a computer network system. The purpose of this study is to make a computer network system design with fail over technique on the type of static routing that is not directly connected. In this case the researcher used the Microtub Router Board RB-951-2nd. Failover technique is a way to transfer routing paths when the main line is broken, so it can be diverted to the backup routing path, this is so that the computer network connection path continues smoothly. The researcher used a recursive network connection case or the router is not connected directly to the main point center (main gateway), so the researcher used the optimization of the Target Scope and Distance features in the Microtic Router Board. The results of this study was that the backup routing path was able to channel data packets within the network if the main line did not respond or could not be connected.

Abstract :Knowledge of computer science today is very necessary especially for students. One of them learns computer network which is a science that many people need. Associated with the existence of computer network so many jobs like send data, print paper to one printer by many computers easy to do. However, the knowledge of this is difficult to be able to by students in schools due to many obstacles such as incomplete equipment, competent tutors in their field no, that is experienced by students of SMA Negeri 1 Air Joman Kabupaten Asahan. Then need a solution that provides that knowledge. Cisco packet tracer which is a free application that can provide an overview of the computer network. With these applications it will be easy to provide knowledge of computer networks that can be provided through lectures, frequently asked questions and practice. The lecture method used is intended to provide a theoretical explanation of computer network material. Practice method is used to show directly how to make network cable and data communications. So that the benefits gained from this workshop activities is to increase students' knowledge of network technology and students are able to make a network connection with cable.Keywords :Network, Computer, CiscoAbstrak :Pengetahuan akan ilmu komputer saat ini sangat diperlukan terkhusus untuk kalangan pelajar.Salah satunya belajar jaringan komputer yang merupakan ilmu yang banyak dibutuhkan masyarakat.Berhubungan dengan adanya jaringan komputer maka banyak pekerjaan seperti kirim data, cetak kertas ke satu printer oleh banyak computer mudah dilakukan. Namun, pengetahuan akan hal ini sulit di dapat oleh pelajar di sekolah berhubung banyak kendala seperti peralatan yang tidak lengkap, tutor yang berkompeten dibidangnya tida ada, itulah yang dialami oleh siswa SMA Negeri 1 Air Joman Kabupaten Asahan. Maka perlu solusi yang memberikan pengetahuan tersebut.Cisco packet tracer yang merupakan aplikasi gratis yang dapat memberikan gambaran atas jaringan komputer. Dengan aplikasi tersebut maka akan mudah memberikan pengetahuan akan jaringan komputer yang dapat diberikan melalui ceramah, tanya jawab dan praktek. Metode ceramah yang digunakan dimaksudkan untuk memberikan penjelasan secara teori terhadap materi jaringan komputer.Metode praktek digunakan untuk menunjukan langsung cara membuat kabel jaringan dan komunikasi data. Sehinga manfaat yang diperoleh dari kegiatan workshop ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa terhadap teknologi jaringan dan siswa mampu membuat koneksi jaringan dengan kabel.Kata kunci : Jaringan, Komputer, Cisco

The design of a computer network is an essential and important instrument in institutions or universities, one of which is at the Riau Province Sports High School. To support maximum human resource performance, the Riau Province Sports High School applies the use of computer networks to manage administration and teaching and learning processes, so that the use of computer networks is urgently needed. Then it is necessary to have a better and more efficient network system to regulate information sharing, so as to facilitate access to information between employees in Riau Province Sports High School. This research uses simulation and implementation methods. Data collection is done by library research, observation and interviews. Before the implementation of computer network design that was built in the Riau Province Sports High School Building will be simulated with Cisco packet tracer in accordance with the data already obtained (needs analysis). The results of this study are network design used for the Riau Province Sports High School building. The network created can facilitate the performance of employees and instructors of Riau Province Sports High School. The design is done as well as possible so that the School does not have difficulties when doing network development.

Due to the problem of network structure, security, redundant path in traditional network, this can be solved by Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) technology. As the network laboratory in colleges and universities is not perfect because of high cost, a virtual simulation tools named Packet Tracer has been introduced to computer network experimental curriculum, this paper put forwards the detail design scheme by the example of VLAN with three switches, and provides the experiment and theoretical analysis and simulation verification .The practice has proved this method not only deepens students comprehension of network, but also cultivates the students' actual comprehensive ability.

Security issues of a system are factors that need to be considered in the operation of information systems, which are intended to prevent threats to the system and detect and correct any damage to the system. Distributed Denial of Services (DDOS) is a form of attack carried out by someone, individuals or groups to damage data that can be attacked through a server or malware in the form of packages that damage the network system used. Security is a mandatory thing in a network to avoid damage to the data system or loss of data from bad people or heckers. Packages sent in the form of malware that attacks, causing bandwidth hit continuously. Network security is a factor that must be maintained and considered in an information system. Ddos forms are Ping of Death, flooding, Remote controled attack, UDP flood, and Smurf Attack. The goal is to use DDOS to protect or prevent system threats and improve damaged systems. Computer network security is very important in maintaining the security of data in the form of small data or large data used by the user.

ABSTRAKOSPF (Open Shortest Path First) adalah suatu routing protokol bersifat terbuka dan didukung oleh berbagai perangkat network. IPv4 telah mencapai batas maksimum dalam jumlah alamat sehingga IPv6 merupakan solusi dalam hal tersebut. Seperti IPv4, IPv6 juga sudah mulai diimplementasikan untuk routing protokol OSPF, oleh karena itu pada penelitian ini akan dirancang suatu routing protokol OSPF IPv6 dan sebagai bahan perbandingan akan dibandingkan dengan OSPF IPv4. Software Cisco Packet Tracer 5.3 digunakan untuk mensimulasikan perancangan jaringan yang dibuat. Pada penelitian ini akan dibandingkan 2 buah jaringan berbasis routing protokol OSPF, yaitu OSPF untuk IPv4 dan IPv6. Skenario pertama dilakukan 100 kali dalam 5 kasus untuk mengetahui nilai delay OSPF IPv4 dan OSPF IPv6. Skenario kedua dilakukan pemutusan link dilakukan sebanyak 30 kali, hal yang dilihat dari pengujian ini adalah hasil trace route dari cost yang ada. Skenario ketiga dilakukan dengan mengamati waktu konvergensi dari OSPF IPv4 dan IPv6. Secara keseluruhan nilai delay OSPF IPv6 lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan OSPF IPv4 sebesar 3-6%, Trace route dan nilai cost pada OSPF IPv6 dan OSPF IPv4 sama tetapi nilai delay OSPF IPv6 lebih kecil sebesar 3-6% dan waktu konvergensi OSPF IPv4 bernilai sama dengan OSPF IPv6 yaitu 10 detik.Kata kunci: OSPF, IPv4, Ipv6, delay, konvergensiABSTRACTOSPF (Open Shortest Path First) is a routing protocol that opened and supported by a wide range of network devices. IPv4 has reached the maximum limit on the number of addresses that IPv6 are a solution in this case. Same as IPv4, IPv6 also has begun to be implemented for the OSPF routing protocol, therefore this study wiould design an IPv6 OSPF routing protocol and as a comparison will be compared to IPv4 OSPF. Cisco Packet Tracer 5.3 software was used to simulate the made network design. This research would compare two pieces of network-based routing protocol OSPF, OSPF for IPv4 and IPv6. The first scenario was done 100 times in of 5 cases to determine the value of delay OSPF OSPF IPv4 and IPv6. The second scenario was carried out link terminations 30 times, it was seen from the tests was the result of trace route from the existing cost. The third scenario was done by observed at the convergence time of OSPF IPv4 and IPv6. The overall delay value OSPF IPv6 better than IPv4 OSPF by 3-6%, the trace route and the OSPF cost value of IPv6 and IPv4 OSPF were same but delay OSPF IPv6 was better 3-6% and convergence time was the same as IPv4 OSPF OSPF IPv6 as 10 seconds.Keywords: OSPF, IPv4, IPv6, delay, convergence
