The objectives of the research were to find out the kinds of teacher talk and learner talk used by English teacherand learners during the classroom  interaction  and  to know the language mostly used in the classroom. The participants of this study were 35 students and 1 English teacher that were taken using purposive sampling technique. This descriptive study used recording and interview in colecting the data. The results of clasroom interaction recording was then analyzed using Flander’s Interaction Analysis Categories (FIAC). It was obtained that teacher talk (75,5%)  dominated the interaction during the classroom. In the interaction, the teacher mostly used ask question category (30,2%) meanwhile the learners mostly used pupil talk response category (9,1%). Furthermore, Indonesian language (57,2%) was dominantly used, while English was only 28,1%. From the research result, it can be concluded that the English teacher dominated the class by asking so many questions and mostly used Indonesian language during the classroom was taking place. It gave the students less chance to explore and practice their English. Keyword: Teacher Talk, Learner Talk, Classroom Interaction.

This study aimed at finding out the categories of teacher and students talk and the percentage of teacher and students talk during classroom interaction. This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitativedesign. The subjects of this study were the tenth grade students of SMAN 1 Salak and the English teacher who taught at that class in 2017/2018 academic year. The data were the utterances of both teacher and students during the classroom interaction process which were collected by using observation and recorded by using smartphone and recorded it about three meetings.The data collected were analyzed by using Flanders Analysis formulate. The findings of the study showed  Analysis showed, there are ten categories of students and teachers talk that could be found during the classroom interaction and the percentage of each of category was: 2,05% for accepting feeling, 5.88% for praising and encouraging, 5,29% for accepting students’ ideas, 11,17% for asking question, 11,76% for lecturing, 8,52% for giving direction, 14,41% for criticizing, 32,35% for students talk response,6,17% student talk initiation and2,35% for silence and confusion.so the teacher talk percentage was about 60,3% and 38,52% for student. Keywords: classroom interaction, Flanders interaction analysis category system

This study was aimed to find out the teacher and students talk percentage, teacher characteristics and the roles of the teacher during classroom interaction classroom interaction at SMPN 1 Berastagi in 2016/2017 academic year. This study used descriptive design. The subjects of this study were 38 students Grade VIII and an English teacher. The data were analyzed by using Flander’s formulates and interaction observation tally sheet. The instrument of collecting data ware observation tally sheet and video recording. The analysis showed that teacher talk percentage was 71,90 %  and  28, 09% for students. It was found that teacher was dominant in talking than student. The teacher highest characteristics found were teacher control means dominated by commands or direction and content cross which were dominated by lecturing and questioning. For the roles of teacher, the two highest were teacher as controller and teacher as resource. From the result the writer concludes that the students were passive in the classroom interaction, on the other hand teacher hold almost the whole activities in the classroom.     Key words: Classroom interaction, Flanders interaction analysis category system

The thesis deals with the dominant category used by teacher and the students during English classroom interaction, and the percentage of teacher’s talk and students’ talk during English classroom interaction using Flanders Interaction Analysis Categories System (FIACS). Moreover, this study used descriptive qualitative design .The data of this study were utterances between English teacher and students during English classroom in XI-2 IPA of SMA Negeri 11 Medan.The instruments for data collection were observation tally sheet and video recording. The result showed all of the categories used in the teaching and learning process. It found from the percentage of all categories , the dominant category used by the teacher was Giving Direction (40.41% ). In the other hand the dominant category used by students was Student Talk-Response (57.60%). In addition, the percentage of Teacher Talk was 59.76%, and the percentage of Student Talk  was 36.72% during classroom interaction in English lessons .It showed, the teacher more active and dominant talking than the students during verbal classroom interaction.Key words: Verbal Classroom Interaction, Teacher Talk, Student Talk, Flanders Interaction Analysis Categories System

The purpose of this research was to know what teacher talk constitute in classroom interaction, what learner talk constitute in classroom interaction and what percentages of the teacher and learner talk in classroom interaction. The methodology of research used in this research is interaction analysis. An English teacher and whole learners of VII A grade class at SMP N 2 Sindang were chosen as the sample in this research. The class is in the second semester in academic year 2009-2010. In this research the writer applied interview questions for teacher and learners and FIAC (Flanders Interaction Analysis Category). The result of this research showed that teacher more active than learner in the interaction. The teacher generally did most of talking during the lesson. In the available data showed that the teacher used more in indirect influence of FIAC category, they are; accepting feeling, encouragement, accepting or using idea of the learner, and asking question) rather than direct influence (lecturing, giving direction, and criticizing). It is about 49.6% / 16.4 %. Thus the total of teacher talk is 56.4% of the class time. Meanwhile the learners did more response rather than initiation with percentage 30.4% / 12.4% from the total learner talk is 42.8%

This study focuces on analyzing the process of classroom interaction through Flanders Interaction Analysis Category (FIAC) model. The objective was to describe how the teacher and students use the categories of classroom interaction in English class by using Flanders Interaction Analysis Category (FIAC) model. The data was found based on the data transcription. The source of the data was the utterances between English teacher and 7th grade students at SMP N 1 SEIBAMBAN. The instruments for data collection were observation, video recording, and note talking. The data analysis applied descriptive qualitative research. It was found that the total percentage each categories classroom interaction were accepts feelings (0.57%), praise and encourages (1.34%), accepts or uses the ideas of the students (0.19%), asks questions (13.74%), lecturing (7.06%), giving directions (30.9%), criticizing or justifying authority (3.91%), students talk-response (28.81%), students talk-initiation (0.29%), and silence or confusion (13.17%). The success of teaching depends to a large extent on the way teachers talk and interactions that occur between teachersand students. The happening of interaction is affected directly by ways of teacher talk. This study entitles “Classroom InteractionAnalysis in the EFL Speaking Class” aimed at analyzing the categories of teacher talk, student talk and classroom interaction typesused during EFL speaking class. The research employed a qualitative design and applied a case study. Subjects of the research werean English teacher and 35 students at the second semester at English Department of IAIN Imam Bonjol Padang. The data weregained through naturalistic observation and document analysis. The data were analyzed by using Foreign Language Interaction(FLINT) system. The findings revealed that both teacher and students applied all categories of talk as mentioned in FLINT systemand classroom interaction types.

The main objective of this research that was to known about what were types and the functions of code-switching used by English teachers, and what were factors cause the English teachers to use code-switching in classroom interaction at SMKN 1Enrekang regency. This research employed a descriptive qualitative design and purposive sampling technique. The participant of this research that was an English teacher at SMKN 1 Enrekang regency. The participant consisted of 3 English teachers who belong to three grades. There were some instruments were used to collect the data in this research namely observation, interview, questionnaire, and triangulation. The main findings of this research that was the English teachers of SMKN 1 Enrekang regency known types and functions of code-switching in classroom interaction, and know some factors cause they must to use code-switching in classroom interaction.

This research used qualitative research method. The research design of this study is descriptive study. The researcher used interview as the instruments. The participants in this study were teachers of SMK Negeri 5 Samarinda and the researcher took three teachers. The research used purpose sampling technique. In this research the data collection techniques is using interviews to find out the types of teacher talk and the reasons for the teacher used teacher talk. The findings showed that there are three teachers talk used by teacher such as asking question, lecturing and giving direction. Nevertheless, there are three main reasons for the teacher used the teacher talk such as students’ language ability, students’ motivation and students’ participation.

Kehilangan gigi dapat menimbulkan dampak emosional serta menyebabkan berkurangnya kemampuan untuk melakukan aktivitas pengunyahan dan berbicara. Melihat akibat yang ditimbulkan maka seharusnya gigi yang hilang diganti dengan gigi tiruan. Pada umumnya untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pembuatan gigi tiruan, masyarakat lebih memilih mengunjungi tukang gigi daripada pergi ke dokter gigi. Salah satu alasan yang memengaruhi seseorang memakai gigi tiruan yaitu persepsi terhadap status kesehatan gigi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Penelitian dilakukan di desa Treman kecamatan Kauditan berlangsung selama bulan April-Oktober 2013. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling dengan membagikan kuesioner pada sampel yang berjumlah 107 orang.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persepsi masyarakat berdasarkan waktu memiliki skor tertinggi yaitu 398 termasuk kategori baik, persepsi masyarakat berdasarkan keterjangkauan memiliki skor sebanyak 395 termasuk kategori baik, persepsi masyarakat berdasarkan biaya jumlah skor yaitu 379 termasuk kategori baik, persepsi masyarakat berdasarkan kebutuhan memiliki skor sebanyak 366,6 termasuk kategori baik, dan persepsi masyarakat berdasarkan kompetensi memiliki skor terendah yaitu sebanyak 236,25 termasuk kategori cukup.Kata kunci : persepsi masyarakat, tukang gigi, pembuatan gigi tiruan ABSTRACTTooth loss can cause emotional effect and also reduce the ability to chew and speak. Based on these, missing teeth should be replaced with dentures. In general, to meet the needs of dentures, same people prefer visiting dental handyman rather than dentist. One of the reasons that affect a person to wear denture is the perception of dental health status. This research is a descriptive study. This study was conducted in Treman village, on april-oktober 2013. The sampling technique was done with purposive sampling by distributing questionnaires to the sample that consist of 107 people.The results of this research showed the public perception based on the time has the highest scores that is 398 including good categories, the public perception based on the affordability has 395 scores categorized as good, the public perception based on the cost has 379 scores including as good categories, the public perception based on the needs has 366,6 scores categorized as good, and the public perception based on the competence has the lowest scores as many as 236,25 including enough category.
