The article investigates the possibilities of using a 3D tomograph with a limited-sizes registering screen for detecting arbitrarily oriented crack-like defects in large industrial objects. Circular and spiral scanning schemes are considered, the principal possibility of detecting defects in the case of two-pass spiral scanning and a registering screen covering half of the view field of the test object cross-section is shown. The performance of the 3D reconstruction algorithm for the selected scanning method has been demonstrated.

AbstractWe design and implement a compact and lightweight hyperspectral scanner. Based on this, a novel rotational hyperspectral scanner was demonstrated. Different from translational scanning, rotational scanning is a moveless and stable scanning method. We also designed a relevant image algorithm to reconstruct the image from an angular recorded hyperspectral data cube. The algorithm works well even with uncertain radial and tangential offset, which is caused by mechanical misalignment. The system shown a spectral resolution of 5 nm after calibration. Finally, spatial accuracy and spectral precision were discussed, based on some additional experiments.

AbstractA net immersed in fractal-induced turbulence exhibit a transient time-varying deformation. The anisotropic, inhomogeneous square fractal grid (SFG) generated flow interacts with the flexible net to manifest as visible cross-sectional undulations. We hypothesize that the net’s response may provide a surrogate in expressing local turbulent strength. This is analysed as root-mean-squared velocity fluctuations in the net, displaying intensity patterns dependent on the grid conformation and grid-net separation. The net’s fluctuation strength is found to increase closer to the turbulator with higher thickness ratio while presenting stronger fluctuations compared to regular-square-grid (RSG) of equivalent blockage-ratio, σ. Our findings demonstrate a novel application where 3D-reconstruction of submerged nets is used to experimentally contrast the turbulence generated by RSG and multilength scale SFGs across the channel cross-section. The net’s response shows the unique turbulence developed from SFGs can induce 9 × higher average excitation to a net when compared against RSG of similar σ.

A computed tomography problem as a 3D reconstruction of density distribution is considered. The input data are obtained as a result of irradiations. The solution of the computed tomography problem is presented as a set of cross-section images. The reconstruction in a single cross-section is performed by algorithm of convolution and back projection. The parallelization is fulfilled over a set of cross-sections by use of the MPI technology.

A pole regularized nonlinear spinor theory may be a suitable test object to compare scattering calculations of Stumpf's functional quantum theory with LSZ-results. To apply the LSZ-technique in this theory, a dressing of the occurring massless Green's function is necessary. It is shown which special approximations allow for this dressing. The renormalized nucleon-nucleon coupling constant yields the right order of magnitude for the elastic nucleon cross section.
