Re-design Business Process at Forwading Company Based on EAP

To be able to become a service company that is superior to other service companies, it requires assistance from the application of IS / IT in its business processes. Both main activities and supporting activities. Enterprise Architecture Planning or EAP helps make planning for the implementation of IS / IT more mature and better, so that the implementation of IS / IT in the company's business processes can run and work in accordance with the company's vision and mission. Zachman Framework is one method that can be used to help do EAP. The Zachman Framework will map the entire system in the company based on 6 different viewpoints along with 5W + 1H. Therefore, this research is expected to be able to provide input to companies that are the object of research to implement IS / IT in accordance with business processes and vision and mission. Later the results of this study will be in the form of proposals for new business processes both supporting activities and the main activities of companies that use the application of IS / IT in them.

Pengembangan sistem informasi memerlukan perencanaan untuk melengkapi arah strategi perguruan tinggi.Perencanaan dibangun dengan mendefinisikan arsitektur data, aplikasi dan teknologi dalam penggunaan informasi untuk mendukung business process kemudian perancangan arsitektur untuk mengidentifikasi kebutuhan dan membuat skema arsitektur pada Universitas. Pemodelan bisnis utama yang digambarkan pada penelitian ini dalam bentuk value chain memiliki aktivitas utamanya yaitu Penerimaan Mahasiswa, Operasional Akademik, dan Penglepasan Mahasiswa. Ruang lingkup enterprise architecture  planning untuk pengembangan sistem informasi ini meliputi bagian akademik. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam perancangan arsitektur enterprise Enterprise Architecture Planning dengan kerangka kerja zahman (Zachman Framework) yang mengacu baris pertama dan kedua yang merupakan perspektif perencana dan pemilik, serta tiga kolom pertama yaitu kolom data, fungsi dan jaringan. Hasil perancangan arsitektur enterprise berupa cetak biru sistem informasi untuk data, aplikasi dan teknologi.Cetak biru sistem informasi berguna sebagai landasan bagi pengembangan sistem informasi secara keseluruhan yang lebih baik dalam business process perguruan tinggi. Kata kunci: enterprise architecture planning, arsitektur data, arsitektur aplikasi, arsitektur teknologi, business process, value chain, pengembangan sistem informasi.

The successful application of Information Technologies (IT) in an organization depends on the business processes used for managing such technologies. It is widely recognized that the use of the Enterprise Architecture (EA) practice for organizing these technologies into a framework is a key factor for achieving a better IT - business alignment. This article presents a business process model for the IT Management that can be used in medium and large organizations as a framework for modelling and analysing their IT management processes. The main difference between the described model and others found in the literature is that our model places EA concept at the centre of the organization of IT Management activities. It provides a better definition, organization and comprehension of the essential and support IT management activities. The described model is being used in several organizations as a referential framework to improve their current IT Management processes.

This paper reports on a quasi-experimental field study in which business process redesign groups in four different US organizations used two different business process representation types. One of the representation types emphasized an activity flow (or workflow) view of business processes, which appears to currently be the most prevalent in actual operational-level business process redesign projects; the other emphasized a communication flow view. The study suggests that, contrary to assumptions likely underlying most of the current business process redesign practice, communication flow-oriented representations of business processes are perceived by those involved in their redesign as significantly more useful in the following aspects than activity flow-oriented representations: identification of opportunities for process improvement, application of process redesign guidelines, visualization of process changes, and development of generic information technology solutions to implement new business processes. Important implications for managers and researchers stemming from these results are discussed.


The implementation of several modern concepts of enterprise architecture creation is analyzed and real-time business process generation is described. Cloud-based self-generated business service is constructed as a basis of the resulting concept with an aim to increase the flexibility of enterprise and introduce AaaS (architecture as a service). Under particular business request in form of correctly formulated strategic goal the generation of business process model is produced. The result of the generation is cross-cutting business process architecture model, which is approved or rejected/corrected by business owner expertise. During generation all necessary requirements for supporting resources, such as information, know-how, intellectual and professional skills, inputs and outputs, quality and operational risk limitations, control and monitoring, are formed. All formed requirements have to be satisfied by appropriate selections from the cloud facilities and again approved. Finally, after several iterations, the business model will be able to be realized in reality and could be executed with predicted results. Briefly, that means that certain sets of valued and weighted business process replicas are located in clouds and served in clouds. Thus, enterprise architecture becomes a regular service from clouds extending row of SOA in the name of AaaS. In addition, the advanced view on the topic is provided with an attempt to install a virtual SOA torrent that catches services from the internet and makes them available to customers and represents a business service basis for real-time business processes.

Abstrak— Aset adalah hal penting yang dimiliki oleh setiap perusahaan atau organisasi. Proses manajemen aset yang dilakukan dengan tepat akan membuat aset yang dimiliki oleh perusahaan atau organisasi lebih optimal. Karena proses manajemen aset belum terlaksana dengan maksimal, maka pada penelitian ini direncanakan sebuah arsitektur enterprise untuk proses manajemen aset untuk kelompok perusahaan PT. Musdalifah Group dengan kerangka kerja Zachman melalui tujuh tahap. Tahap pertama adalah pengumpulan data terkait manajemen aset perusahaan yang digunakan sebagai acuan perencanaan. Tahap kedua adalah inisialisasi perencanaan yang menghasilkan rencana kerja arsitektur perusahaan sesuai ruang lingkup dan kondisi perusahaan. Tahap ketiga, meninjau kondisi enterprise saat ini perusahaan, dengan hasil tinjauan model proses bisnis dan katalog sumber daya perusahaan terkait manajemen aset. Tahap keempat adalah analisis hasil tinjauan enterprise dengan analisis SWOT, sehingga dapat dihasilkan 5 rencana proses bisnis serta usulan sistem dan teknologi terintegrasi. Tahap kelima melakukan perencanaan arsitektur enterprise yaitu arsitektur data dengan hasil 34 kandidat entitas data, arsitektur aplikasi yang menghasilkan 9 kandidat aplikasi, dan arsitektur teknologi dengan hasil 3 kandidat perangkat keras dan platform aplikasi yang terintegrasi. Sedangkan tahap terakhir, perencanaan implementasi hasil penelitian yaitu, rencana pemenuhan komponen, rencana migrasi, dan evaluasi dampak arsitektur. Evaluasi dari hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa cetak biru arsitektur dapat diterima oleh perusahaan dan dipertimbangkan untuk diimplementasikan beberapa tahun kedepan.Kata Kunci—Perencanaan Arsitektur Perusahaan, Kerangka Kerja Zachman, Manajemen Aset.Abstract— Asset is an important thing that owned by any company or organization. Asset management process aims to manage an organization’s assets optimally. Because of the asset management process has not been implemented maximally, so in this study planned an enterprise architecture for the process of asset management for the group of companies PT. Musdalifah Group using Zachman framework through seven phases. The first phase, data collection, and the results is relevant information of company’s asset management as a design reference. The second phase, planning initialization, generates enterprise architecture work plan according to the scope and conditions of the company. The third phase, reviewing the company's current enterprise conditions, the results of the review are models of business processes and enterprise resource catalog of related asset management. The fourth phase, results review analysis of enterprise with SWOT analysis, so it can produce 5 plan and proposed business processes and technology systems terintegrasi. The fifth phase, enterprise architecture planning of data architecture with the results are 37 data entities candidates, application architecture which produces 9 applications candidate, and technology architecture with the results are 3 hardware and application platform candidates. The last phase, planning the implementation of the research’s result, plan fulfillment component, the migration plan, and evaluating the impact of architecture. Evaluation of the result of research is describing that the architectural blueprints can be received by the company and considered to be implemented next few years.Keywords— Enterprise Architecture Planning, Zachman Framework, Asset Management.

Today’s enterprises need to be agile, to be able to cope with unexpected changes, to increasingly be dynamic, and to continually deal with change. Change affecting business processes may range from ad hoc modification to process evolution. In this chapter we present dimensions of change concentrating on a specific ability of an enterprise to deal with change. To support business in being agile we propose a semantically enriched context model based on well known enterprise architecture. We present a context aware workflow engine basing on the context model and on rules which trigger process adaptations during run time.

The revision of the business process of operation and repair of locomotives also led to revision of the indicators that characterize the quality of repairs and maintenance performed. The article considers a new indicator that characterizes the quality of work of locomotive repair enterprises of service companies. The components of the equation are investigated and the procedure for calculating the technical readiness coefficient is analyzed. The analysis of the order regulating the procedure for accounting for the time when the locomotive section is in the condition was made. According to the results of the analysis, all accounting conditions are collected in groups in accordance with the calculation formula. The source of obtaining the initial data on the location of the locomotive section in the accounting condition is determined. The initial data is analyzed and the results are presented. The actual value of the technical readiness coefficient is calculated with and without taking into account administrative costs. The term «locomotive technical readiness corridor» is defined. The actual availability of serviceable locomotives at the disposal of the operational locomotive depot along the upper and lower boundaries of the corridor is calculated. It is revealed that the new indicator can be used to characterize the quality and completeness of the work performed by the service company, but it is not enough to assess the actual availability of serviceable traction rolling stock.

Major assets such as buildings, infrastructure and defence systems are long term investments that require many outsourced sustainment activities to maintain satisfactory performances over their service life. When multiplied by the number of years that the sustainment is planned to be undertaken, the contracting cost is high. Many business processes are established to govern these asset sustainment activities and eventually become the source of inefficiency. This paper analyses the performance of these processes using a performance driven approach. Combined with input data of requests for engineering change in similar assets, this paper evaluates a new business process redesigned from an existing process to achieve significant savings in total cost of ownership as well as improving other non-financial performance indicators.

well- organized data in one managed data source is the goal of company development to make this happen, strategy and planning are needed. It is known  that  Cv. Ria Kencana Ungu requires  management in the development  of information technology. One problem faced by RKU Computer is the application of business process design, most of which have not used the system and are still manually recording to copy transaction process data as well as reporting  data  services  so  that  the  data  processing  is  not  yet  used.  effective  and  not  sustainable.  The implementation of enterprise architecture planning with the zachman framework results achieved in the implementation of enterprise architecture planning to produce a blueprint that can serve as a guideline that can illustrate designing architecture in Cv. Ria Kencana Ungu is proven to be very important for an enterprise. With the proposed application candidates can improve information systems based on current business processes so that the need for information technology that supports business needs can be a reference in long-term technology investment in Cv. Ria Kencana Ungu. Pentingnya sebuah data yang terintegrasi didalam perusahaan disebut enterprise adanya data yang tesusun baik dalam satu sumber data yang dikelola merupakan tujuan pengembangan perusahaan untuk mewujudkan hal tersebut diperlukan strategi dan perencanaan. Diketahui bahwa Cv. Ria Kencana Ungu memerlukan pengelolaan dalam pengembangan teknologi informasi satu masalah  yang dihadapi pada RKU Computer yaitu penerapan perancangan proses bisnis sebagian besar di setiap bagian belum menggunakan sistem dan masih melakukan pencatatan secara manual untuk menyalin data proses transaksi juga pelaporan data service sehingga menjadikan proses pengolahan data belum efektif dan tidak berkesinambungan. Penerapan rancangan enterprise architecture planning dengan  zachman framework hasil yang dicapai dalam pelaksanaan  enterprise architecture planning menghasilkan  sebuah  cetak biru yang dapat dijadikan  sebagai pedoman  yang dapat menggambarkan  dengan merancang architecture di Cv.Ria Kencana Ungu terbukti menjadi hal yang sangat penting bagi sebuah enterprise. Dengan kandidat aplikasi yang di usulkan dapat memperbaiki sistem informasi berdasarkan proses bisnis yang sedang berjalan saat ini sehingga kebutuhan teknologi informasi yang mendukung kebutuhan bisnis yang bisa menjadi acuan dalam investasi teknologi jangka panjang di Cv. Ria Kencana Ungu

Though Web services offer unique opportunities for the design of new business processes, the assessment of the potential impact of Web services is often reduced to technical aspects. This paper proposes a four-phase methodology which facilitates the evaluation of the potential use of Web services in e-business systems both from a technical and from a strategic viewpoint. It is based on business process models, which are used to frame the adoption of Web services and to assess their impact on existing business processes. The application of this methodology is described using a procurement scenario.
