AbstrakPada zaman sekarang, pembelajaran semakin menigkat. Begitu pula pada pelajaran matematika. Siswa lebih dituntut untuk bukan hanya sekadar mampu berhitung saja, tapi mampu mengaplikasikannya dalam memecahkan masalah dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemapuan literasi matematis siswa SMP kelas VIII di Kp. Panawuan Rt.02/Rw.10. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah deskriftif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 4 orang yang diambil secara acak. Berdasarkan hasill penelitian, meskipun soal yang diberikan adalah soal-soal standar atau rutin dan tergolong mudah karena mengambil level 1 dan 2. Seluruh subjek penelitiannya merasa kewalahan dan kesulitan dalam menafsirkan dan mengaplikasikan rumus yang sudah mereka ketahui dalam menyelesaikan masalah yang diberikan. Simpulan yang dapat diambil adalah kemampuan literasi matematis siswa dalam penelitian ini masih terbilang rendah karena siswa masih merasa kesulitan dalam menghadapi soal PISA dengan level 1 dan 2. AbstractIn this day and age, learning is increasing. Likewise in math lessons. Students are more required to not only be able to count, but also be able to apply it in solving problems in everyday life. This study aims to analyze the mathematical literacy skills of the VIII grade junior high school students at Kp. Panawuan Rt.02 / Rw. 10. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects consisted of 4 people who were taken randomly. Based on the research results, although the questions given are standard or routine and are relatively easy because they take levels 1 and 2. All research subjects feel overwhelmed and have difficulty in interpreting and applying the formulas they already know in solving the problems given. The conclusion that can be drawn is that students' mathematical literacy skills in this study are still low because students still find it difficult to face PISA questions with levels 1 and 2.

This research believes that junior high school students in eighth grade need suitable and interesting reading material to develop their literacy skills which one way to achieve it is to design graphic novels of learning material on it. This research designed in the form of design and development (D&D) model proposed by Richey and Klein (2007). The development model used in this research was Richey and Klein’s (2007) ADDE model. The result was a graphic novel as an attractive literacy media that was developed for assisting eighth grade junior high school students’ literacy skills. Based on the content validity judgement, the graphic novel was highly relevant to the twelve criteria of a good graphic novel with minor revision. The quality judgment was utilized to determine whether or not the graphic novel was already qualified to serve as a good literacy source by using expert judgement. There were two expert judges and twelve users who took role in judging the quality of the graphic novel. Based on the quality judgement, the graphic novel was categorized as excellent media. Thus, the graphic novel was categorized as excellent media for assisting eighth grade students’ literacy skills.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan literasi sains fisika siswa SMP Kelas VII di Sumatera Selatan menggunakan kerangka PISA. Metode penelitian adalah deskriptif kuantitatif untuk mendapatkan gambaran kemampuan literasi sains dalam IPA (fisika) siswa tanpa memberikan perlakuan kepada siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data berbentuk tes tertulis.  Penilaian disesuaikan dengan kriteria penilaian PISA. Variabel penelitian ini adalah pencapaian kemampuan literasi sains siswa pada konten fisik. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan purposive sampling meliputi SMP N 1 kota Palembang, SMP N 1 kota Prabumulih, dan SMP N 1 kabupaten Ogan Ilir pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Hasil Penelitian diperoleh persentase pencapaian siswa yang paling tinggi pada level 2 sebesar 54,9 dan terendah pada level 5 yaitu hanya sebesar 28,1 dari skala maksimum 100. Secara keseluruhan rerata persentase hasil kemampuan literasi sains siswa SMP di Sumatera Selatan berdasarkan Kompetensi Proses Sains, yaitu 47,1. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kemampuan literasi sains siswa SMP di Sumatera Selatan secara keseluruhan ditinjau dari level soal dan kompetensi proses sains diperoleh hasil masih sangat rendah. This research aims to analyze the ability of Physics Science Literacy of Grade VII Middle School Students in South Sumatra by using the PISA Framework. The research method is a quantitative descriptive method that aims to get a picture of scientific literacy abilities in science (physics) students without giving treatment to students. The assessment is adjusted to the PISA assessment criteria. The variables of this study was the achievement of students' science literacy skills in physical content. Data collection techniques by written tests. Samples were taken using purposive sampling and the research sample are SMP N 1 kota Palembang, SMP N 1 kota Prabumulih, dan SMP N 1 Kabupaten Ogan Ilir The results of the study showed that the highest percentage of student’s achievement at level 2 was 54.9 and the lowest was at level 5, which was only 28.1 from the maximum 100 scale. While the overall percentage of the results of the scientific literacy skills of junior high school students in South Sumatra was based on Science Process Competence. that is 47.1. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the scientific literacy skills of junior high school students in South Sumatra as a whole in terms of the level of questions and competency of science processes are still very low.

The development of the science student worksheet based on the bioecology of cuttlefish (Sepia sp.) cultivation is an effort to improve the scientific literacy skills of students at the coastal village school of East Lombok. The purpose of this research is to produce student worksheet that is feasible, practical, and effective in improving students' literacy skills. This research is research and development using Thiagarajan 4D development model which includes design, define, develop, and disseminate stages. The research subjects consisted of 1 SMP/MTs equivalent in East Lombok which were determined using purposive sampling technique. The instruments used include validation sheets, student and teacher response questionnaires, and scientific literacy assessment instruments. The feasibility and practicality data were analyzed using the percentage formula, and the effectiveness data were analyzed using the N-gain analysis. The results showed that 1) student worksheet science based on the bioecology of cuttlefish cultivation (Sepia.sp) was feasible to use with an average score of 73 for the content/material aspect, 73 for the language aspect, and 85 for the appearance aspect, 2) science student worksheet based on the bioecology of cuttlefish cultivation. (Sepia sp.) is practically used with an average percentage of student responses of 81% and teacher responses of 88%, 3) student worksheet science based on the bioecology of cuttlefish cultivation (Sepia.sp) is effective in improving students' scientific literacy skills with an average N value -gain of 0.5 in the medium category. Thus, it can be concluded that the science student worksheet based on the bioecology of cuttlefish (Sepia sp.) cultivation is feasible, practical, and effective to use in science learning as an effort to improve the scientific literacy of junior high school students in coastal village schools in East Lombok.

Abstract Representation is the embodiment of a student's idea of a problem, and representation is used to assist students in solving the problem. This research is qualitative research that aims to analyze students' representational abilities in solving problems of a two-dimensional figure. The research instrument consisted of test questions with two-dimensional figure material and interviews. The research subjects were 2 junior high school students in Surabaya City who had different representational abilities. The results showed that students had moderate representational abilities because they gave rise to 2 indicators of representational ability, namely indicators of verbal and symbolic representation in different ways of conveying, but the two subjects had not yet produced indicators of visual representation. Keywords: Representation ability, junior high school, two-dimensional figure   Abstrak Representasi adalah perwujudan ide dari seorang siswa terhadap suatu masalah, dan representasi digunakan untuk membantu siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan representasi siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal bangun datar. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari soal tes dengan materi bangun datar dan pedoman wawancara. Subjek penelitian adalah 2 siswa SMP Kota Surabaya yang memiliki kemampuan representasi berbeda, subjek AM memenuhi indikator representasi A1, C1 dan subjek MIS memenuhi indikator representasi A1, C1, A2, C2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa memiliki kemampuan representasi sedang, karena memunculkan 2 tipe kemampuan representasi yaitu tipe representasi verbal dan simbolik dengan cara penyampaian yang berbeda, namun kedua subjek belum memunculkan tipe representasi visual. The aim of this study was to investigate the improvement of the students’ attentionafter using there different methods of HICAI-SOI, HICAI-Media, and with out CAIthree exell-1, exell-2 and regularly class.The research method was Quasi-experiment.The sample of the research were 90 persons from class VIII Junior High SchoolStudents 7 Padang, that was selected randomly. Prior knowledge of student as bilinearcovariant is obtained through cognitive domain test and attention score of learning iscollected through questionnaire. The validity and reability of both instrument weretested, and the coefficient 0,83 and 0,92. Result of examination applies bilinearcovariant analyst technique (ANACOVA) factorial 3x3x1, successfully controls initialability equal to 67%. Attention of student learning increases in signifikan from studytrivariable, to three treatment classes [F(2, 253)=183,92, p<0,05] with effect size equalto 59%, difference of class to attention also highly significant [ F(2,253)=8,39, p<0,05]with effect size equal to 6%, medium of interaction influence between various studieswith class also highly signifikan [F(2,253)=8,39, p<0,05] with effect size equal to7%.Result of analysis shows the contribution of various study to increase attention offar bigger than difference of class and interaction. Therefore, the conjecture of thewriter that the attention influences learning process in provable emperical. Thisresearch showed that the student Junior High School Students is more interested tostudy physics with HICAI-SOI. Its gives more impact on the students’ attention atregular class, It is concluded that the use of HICAI can improve the attention of JuniorHigh School Students.

The task of organizing education is primarily the responsibility of parents and assisted by the community as long as it is needed. The task of organizing education is also the responsibility of the Church. The Church takes part in the world of education, among others, through Catholic religious education in Catholic schools. The learning process of Catholic Religious Education is intended to improve the faith of Catholic youth. The research was conducted by using qualitative research method. Qualitative research method is a form of research designed to examine attitudes, views, feelings, and behavior of individuals or groups of people or social issues being investigated. This study aims to analyze the extent to which Catholic Religious Education affects the development of faith and behavioral change of the Catholic Junior High School students in Madiun. The results of the research indicated that 7 (58%) of respondents stated that junior high school students were students between 13-15 years old. There were 12 (100%) respondents said that Catholic Religious Education taught in the School was able to help the junior high school students to have more knowledge about Jesus and his preaching. As many as 6 (50%) of respondents stated that Catholic Religious Education is very helpful to get know more about themselves personally. There were 8 (67%) of respondents stated that the teaching of Catholic Religion made their faith progressively improved. Broadly speaking, all respondents experienced that Catholic Religious teaching has made their Catholic faith being developed so far. It made the respondents more diligent and actively involved in throughout Catholic Church activities and any social affairs.

Distance learning or online learning is the recommended alternative form of learning. But it is still uncertain, what competencies are important to be mastered by students. This study aims to examine what important competency components need to be prioritized and how the relationships between these components. The research method used is a mixture of quantitative and qualitative descriptive. The subjects of this study were 32 junior high school students. This study concludes that students have the competence of Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM), products, and characters that vary and the relationship between STEM and products is stronger than the character components.

 Student difficulties in understanding algebra particularly in factoring is because teachers have not been able to utilize manipulative objects (props) as a medium to narrow nature of mathematical abstraction itself. Props mathematics is a concrete object that can be manipulated, in order to bridge mathematical abstraction. Flip-flops and frond thatch are two things that will serve as a manipulative object in learning algebra. The purpose of this study are: (1) to describe the use of flip-flops and frond thatch as manipulative objects to enhance the ability algebra of junior high school students; and (2) To know the use of manipulative objects flip-flops and frond thatch will reach or not the ability algebra of junior high school reached an average of more than 65. This study is a quantitative study with experimental method. In this study there is only one group of research subjects derived from the 3 school level (low, medium, and high), the experimental group doing mathematics by using manipulative objects. To determine the ability of an algebraic increase to more than 65 will be used t-test. The result showed that the tcount ttable (5:44 1.67), so in this case H0 is rejected. Further in the learning process was also found that the students are very easy in factoring a quadratic equation by using the manipulative objects. The conclusions of this study are: (1) Learning with the use of flip-flops and sago palm frond as manipulative objects to the increased ability of algebra junior high school students has been going well and facilitate student. (2) Learning mathematics algebra material using props from the flip-flops and frond thatch can improve the understanding of junior high school eighth grade on the material algebra reaches an average (μ0) of more than 65.
