The teaching of occupational health nursing (OHN) requires an emphasis on which one should be dominant between technical and social domain, as practiced in the industrial health care services. The purpose of this research is determine which skill domain is more dominant between technical and social skills in the OHN teaching-learning system. This type of study is quantitative approach with cross-sectional study design. The populations were nursing students, nursing practitioners, and nursing lecturers. The sampling technique is non-probability sampling taken online with a sample size of 130 respondents of Indonesian nurses in Indonesia. The data collection tool used a mixed questionnaire in a Likert Scale based on the Health Belief Model theory. The data were analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test to see whether the results of this study were dominated by the technical or social skills domain. The validity and reliability test was carried out with a sample of 30 people. They were measured by looking at the r table and the Cronbach alpha value for each questionnaire statement, using the SPSS application with the Pearson Product Moment test. The T-Test result of SPSS shows 95 respondents (73.1%), perceived technical skills dominate the OHN work in industry, and 35 respondents (26.9%) in social skills, with a p-value of 0.000. In other words, the dominance of technical skills has a very close association to the teaching-learning system. The need for technical skills is much more dominant than social skills. OHN teaching needs to have an emphasis on technical skills, not the social domain.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Occupational Health Nursing (OHN) is very important to be studied by nursing students considering the industial demands are very high on the importance of the health of workers in the future. The problem is they don't get proportional insights to OHN. This needs evidence of its effect on nurses’ work productivity. Objective: The objective is to compare the level of work productivity between nurses who have the OHN insight with those without it, working in the industrial setting. Method: The method is Comparative Study with Cross Sectional Study Design with nursing students, nurses and Indonesian nurses working abroad as the populations. The sampling technique is non-probability sampling with a total sample of 130 respondents. The data collection tool uses a questionnaire and Likert Scale, compiled based on the Health Belief Model Theory (HBM). The data were analyzed by the Paired Sample T-test to see the differences between nurses who had received OHN subject and those who had never. Result: The results show significant differences on level of understanding between nurses who have received subject material about OHN with those who have never had it, with a p-value of 0,000. Discussion: Significant productivity differences between nurses who have received lecture material about OHN and those who did not, which can be used as criticism or input for nursing education in Indonesia.

<p><em>Waste pickers are a group of workers who are at risk of accidents and work-related diseases because they are exposed to sources of disease from rubbish piles. Various diseases and work accidents occur in waste pickers in various countries. To describe occupational health and safety problems that occur in waste pickers as well as efforts that can be made to improve occupational health and safety of waste pickers. Literature search through online databases on ScienceDirect, Wiley Online, and ProQuest with the keywords used "occupational health service", "occupational health nursing", "waste picker", and "scavenger" obtained a total of 3,624 articles, carried out reviews resulting in 17 selected articles. Health problems and workplace accidents of waste pickers range from respiratory problems, musculoskeletal problems, communicable and non communicable diseases, mental health problems and other problems to impacting their families and causing death. Policies are needed to regulate the health and work safety of waste pickers as well as to improve knowledge of occupational health and safety, providing Persolan Protective Equipment (PPE) and improving waste picker obedience to use PPE by health care program. </em></p><p> </p><p><em>Pengumpul sampah merupakan kelompok pekerja yang berisiko terhadap kecelakaan dan penyakit akibat kerja karena terpapar sumber penyakit dari tumpukan sampah. Berbagai penyakit dan kecelakaan kerja terjadi pada pengumpul sampah diberbagai negara.</em><em> </em><em>U</em><em>ntuk </em><em>mendeskripsikan masalah kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja yang terjadi pada pengumpul sampah serta upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja pengumpul sampah. Pe</em><em>ncarian </em><em>literatur </em><em>melalui online database </em><em> pada ScienceDirect,  Wiley Online, dan ProQuest dengan kata kunci yang digunakan yaitu “occupational health service”, “occupational health nursing”, “waste picker”, dan “scavenger” didapatkan total 3.624 artikel, dilakukan review sehingga dihasilkan 17 artikel terpilih. Masalah kesehatan dan kecelakaan kerja pengumpul sampah beragam mulai dari masalah pernapasan, masalah muskuloskeletal, penyakit menular dan tidak menular, masalah mental dan masalah lainnya hingga berdampak pada keluarga mereka dan menyebabkan kemantian. Diperlukan kebijakan yang mengatur kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja pengumpul sampah serta peningkatan pengetahuan kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja, pengadaan alat pelindung diri dan meningkatkan kepatuhan penggunaan alat pelindung diri oleh pengumpul sampah melalui peran pelayanan kesehatan.</em></p>

Specialty nursing certification programs, such as that administered by the American Board for Occupational Health Nurses, Inc. (ABOHN), must be firmly based on current practice to maintain validity. To determine this, ABOHN performed its most recent job analysis and role delineation study between 1992 and 1994. A comprehensive survey tool was developed by ABOHN Board members, and administered to all 3,805 certified occupational health nurses in practice at the time of the study. With a final return rate of 42.7%, the results were believed to be representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to practice occupational health nursing in the United States at the proficient level of practice. The results of the study formed the basis for the ABOHN test blueprints and the creation of two credentials for occupational health nurses: the Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) and the Certified Occupational Health Nurse Specialist (COHN-S).
