The study presented here is to understand the level of collective-efficacy and self-efficacy of teachers in the Nilgiris District Tamil Nadu. The study also helps us to understand the influence of collective-efficacy and self-efficacy on the innovative behaviour of Teachers. Stratified Random Sampling Method is used in this study to select 90 school teachers. The data is analysed using descriptive statistics and Pearson’s Correlation Coefficients. In this study, the correlation between collective-efficacy and innovative work behaviour, self-efficacy and innovative work behaviour and collective-efficacy and self-efficacy were studied. The levels of collective- efficacy and self-efficacy and their influence on the innovative work behaviour were studied in teachers based on their designation, gender, experience and the type of school in which they work.

Phytosociological study is the most essential in any community to know its structure and organization. The various qualitative characters obtained are used to determine the level of distribution, numerical strength and degree of dominance exhibited by the constituent species in the community. Thalictrum javanicum belongs to the family Ranunculaceae family, it is medium sized erect herb, found in the temperate Himalayas from Kasmir to Sikkim in Khasi hills, and Kodaikanal and Nilgiri hills of Western Ghats in Tamil Nadu, India. At global level, it is generally distributed in the hilly tracts of India, Srilanka, China and Java at the altitude of around 2400 m above msl. The present study was undertaken in Thottabetta , the Nilgiris by sampling using belt transects of 10x1000m size which further divided into 100 segments each which 10x10m size. The total number of species encountered in the study area is 45 which includes 5 grasses and 40 forbs. The quantitative ecological characters of the study species, T. javanicum is a detailed below: frequency 11%, abundance 3.82 individuals/m2, density 0.42 individuals/m2, basal cover 172.20/mm2/ m2, relative frequency 0.55% and relative density 0.08%, relative dominance 0.16%. Based on the ecological attributes it is determined that the species, T. javanicum is less perpetuated in the community studied. Hence, further studies on the determination of propagation strategies for population enhancement and conservationof wilds are suggested.

A total of 45 sightings of 57 individual Shaheen Falcons were recorded from 2014–2016 from different locations in the Nilgiris mountain range, and eight nests were located on separate rocky cliffs.  Most of the nests (n= 6) were situated at elevations ranging from 1500–2500 m and 45% of the nests were located on the north facing exposures.

Among the various natural disasters, landslides are considered to be one of the serious geological hazards that are triggered due to intensive rainfall, earthquakes, deforestation, mining, floods, etc. Landslides result in devastating impacts causes thousands of deaths and injuries, damage to properties. The changing pattern of landslide hazard zones every year forces the need to safeguard people and properties in the respective areas. Weighted linear combination (WLC) is used to prepare the landslide hazard zonation map in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu, India. Nine layers, namely slope, aspect, lineament density, rainfall, distance of roads, elevation, distance from rivers, landuse/landcover, geology, are used in overlay analysis. Supply chain facilities are widely used in the field of transportation of goods to the consumers with the reduction of transportation costs. The implementation of supply chain mechanism along with GIS in disaster management could help to save numerous lives during disaster events.

Contagious ecthyma is a highly contagious viral disease of sheep and goats, caused by Parapoxvirus. In the present outbreak over a range of 3 km radius in a hamlet near Ooty town in the Nilgiris hills, a total of 174 out of 194 non-descript goats were clinically affected with the symptoms of pyrexia (40°C), anorexia, depression, proliferative scab lesions on the skin around the mouth, oral commissures and nostrils. The morbidity rate was 89.7% without mortality. The symptoms were suggestive of contagious ecthyma. The disease was confirmed by agar gel immunodiffusion test, counter immunoelectrophoresis, and by polymerase chain reaction. Affected goats were treated with antibiotics, anti-pyretic, anti-inflammatory and vitamin B complex injections parenterally. Commercially available herbal topical spray (Topicure®) and/or neem leaf and turmeric paste was applied to alleviate the skin lesions. Affected goats were recovered in 4 to 5 weeks. This paper reports the first incidence of contagious ecthyma outbreak in goats during rainy season of the year in high altitude (the Nilgiri hills), Tamil Nadu.
