A robotic system is a microcontroller with a set of sensors that register external changes (humidity, lighting, temperature, etc.), a data exchange module, and an execution mechanism that begins to act when the user sends a command to the microcontroller from an Android device. Creating robotic systems is one of the main tasks of industrial automation, which is closely related to the IoT (Internet of Things) technology. There are a lot of variations in the development of robotic systems in synergy with IoT: "Smart Home", driverless car, cleaning robot, etc. In most cases, a smart home is a home automation system – a system that helps save time on managing all other engineering and entertainment devices. And the more devices, the more necessary it is to use automation systems. For a large number of IoT systems, a mobile phone or tablet based on the Android or iOS operating system is often used as a control device. This is due to the mobility in managing and monitoring messages through a handheld device. The purpose of this article is to develop a Smart system for life support and monitoring the condition of indoor plants.The Smart system being developed provides for the creation of not only a plant life support system, but also the creation of a mobile application for managing and monitoring plant life support. In the course of writing the article, the existing automated control systems were investigated and a block diagram of the Smart system was constructed, taking into account its interaction with the mobile application. The article uses a decentralized automation system in which the main elements are the ESP8266 microcontroller (as a transmitter) and the Atmega328 microcontroller (as a data processing element). An application for a mobile device that acts as a remote control has also been developed. Within the framework of the article, an electrical schematic diagram of the Smart system has been developed. The article also provides detailed instructions and recommendations for both hardware and software parts.

The smart home is now an established area of interest and research that contributes to comfort in modern homes. With the Internet being an essential part of broad communication in modern life, IoT has allowed homes to go beyond building to interactive abodes. In many spheres of human life, the IoT has grown exponentially, including monitoring ecological factors, controlling the home and its appliances, and storing data generated by devices in the house in the cloud. Smart home includes multiple components, technologies, and devices that generate valuable data for predicting home and environment activities. This work presents the design and development of a ubiquitous, cloud-based intelligent home automation system. The system controls, monitors, and oversees the security of a home and its environment via an Android mobile application. One module controls and monitors electrical appliances and environmental factors, while another module oversees the home’s security by detecting motion and capturing images. Our work uses a camera to capture images of objects triggered by their motion being detected. To avoid false alarms, we used the concept of machine learning to differentiate between images of regular home occupants and those of an intruder. The support vector machine algorithm is proposed in this study to classify the features of the image captured and determine if it is that of a regular home occupant or an intruder before sending an alarm to the user. The design of the mobile application allows a graphical display of the activities in the house. Our work proves that machine learning algorithms can improve home automation system functionality and enhance home security. The work’s prototype was implemented using an ESP8266 board, an ESP32-CAM board, a 5 V four-channel relay module, and sensors.

It can control home appliances like light, fans, air conditions, and smart security locks, etc. Bluetooth or Wi-Fi is used for remote control of things. Smart home is essentially how it looks: automating with such an easy touch of a button or a voice command the ability to manage things across the home. Several operations were both simple and extremely low-cost, such as setting up a light to turn on and off at the time of your moment. Others need much more money and resources, including advanced spy cameras. Some people thought that technology is taking a really huge part of our lives. It does! we’re living in a modern generation where smart and intelligent systems are necessary to be there wherever we are to make our lives easier and much better, for example, we can do many things faster, better, and more accurate.

The paper focuses on using ICT tools for smart home applications. It presents the design and implementation of a system to monitor and analyze the energy consumption, utilize lights when needed, program the temperature by identifying inhabitants' absence and setting the temperature appropriately high or low. The system also uses colored LEDs to alert inhabitants of different parameters, to turn their loads on and off based on the cost of electricity use as well as to enable them to control some of their home appliances usage through a mobile application to reduce electricity usage and minimize energy waste.

The smart home automation system is designed to conveniently manage and monitor household appliances and lighting fixtures remotely, to save time and to use resources effectively. It is a control system for allowing access to home automation devices. The automation devices include lights, fan, camera and doors. It even enhances the main features of the project to control the home appliances from anywhere as remotely. With the camera module, continuous surveillance and protection of the home is accomplished. A significant improvement is achieved in utility costs by an optimal use of energy. Using inexpensive electronic and interactive tools, this initiative can be applied, making it economically, physically and operationally feasible. Basically it involves controlling everything remotely via a visual interface and mobile application. The automation system employs the use of MQTT protocol in order to secure the transmitted device based information to and from in the network. The defense against Man in the Middle attack (MITM) is the main focus of our automation system. The routed messages are checked at the intermediate hub to check for the occurrence of MITM based DoS attacks through manual reset points. .

Urgency of the research. The expansion of smart home systems is slower than was expected. One of the biggest obstacles to the mass expansion of smart homes is the high price of devices commonly available on the market. Home automation is not sufficiently widespread among people, not only for the high price, but also because the available systems do not meet users' perceptions of how they should work and also due to users' fear of security risks. For these reasons, when designing a new smart home system, it is a good idea to perform the initial testing on the model. Target setting. Our goal was to design a model of the original low-cost smart home system, which would allow testing, tuning, and refinement of the home automation system before it is put into use. Such a model could also be used in the learning process, while students can test the proposed smart home systems on the model. Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. When designing the model and preparing this paper, we took into ac-count both current sources – publications and papers dealing with the current state of smart home systems as well as existing smart home solutions, which are widely available on the market. Uninvestigated parts of general matters defining. The implementation of the proposed model into real-life operation was not realized during the research for this paper. The research objective. The goal of the research was to model a low-cost, reliable, smart home system. The statement of basic materials. For effective research and solution of the task of smart home system is important to create adequate model, which copies a real smart home. For our solution we used a tiny and affordable computer Raspberry Pi3, which was connected through GPIO to external sensors for light, temperature etc., operation was performed in the Python programming language and for the creation of user interface was used Cayenne platform for Android-operated smartphones. Conclusions. Our solution implemented the Raspberry Pi microcomputer, which was connected with the external hard-ware. The outputs also included the creation of a physical model of the smart home system. Designed model can meet the savings, comfort and safety requirements of every household. The stability and functionality of the system designed for the model has been verified in a long-term testing. No errors in stability have been demonstrated.

With the advancement of wireless technology, our dependency on smart system has increases to a higher level than before. Without doubt, integration between different technologies becomes inevitable in order create affordable surveillance system. This paper presents the development of with web-based surveillance system with a dedicated Android-based mobile application using a Raspberry Pi and its supporting components i.e., Pi-Camera, PIR motion sensor, Ultrasonic sensor, web-based mobile application. The designed system also utilizes Node-Red development tools as the platform to integrate all components of the system, MQTT as the communication protocol for data acquisition and ThingSpeak as the middleware. The proposed system can be implemented over the internet using any computer and mobile devices, at anywhere and anytime. The system can automatically stream live video viewed from the Android mobile application and the Raspberry Pi device can send an alert notification to users via email and SMS. The system can be one possible features in smart home system and is considered as an affordable solution, customizable and easy to implement in comparison with other commercial surveillance system products such as CCTV or IP Camera.
