In the past, some authors have not defined the diffusion coefficient appropriate to their experimental system, consequently, valuable data have been lost. We discuss the various diffusion coefficients referred to all possible frames of reference in relation to the choice of a suitable experimental system for the determination of gaseous diffusion coefficients in porous media. A modified Ney and Armistead type diffusion cell is described with an improved method of calculation of results from continuously monitored concentration changes in the diffusion cell.

An improved calculation method of inductance and capacitances in π1 circuits for resonant power amplifiers In the paper an improved method of calculation of the inductance and capacitances in the π1 circuit for Class A, AB, B, and C resonant power amplifiers is presented. This method is based on an assumption that the quality factor of the inductor is finite and the capacitors are lossless. The input parameters for calculations are the amplifier load resistance, the transistor load resistance, the quality factor of the inductor, the loaded quality factor of the designed circuit, and the operating frequency. The presented method allows reducing the required regulation range of π1 circuits elements in built resonant amplifiers as compared to the traditional calculation methods assuming lossless capacitors and inductor. This advantage is important, in particular, for long- and medium-wave transistor power amplifiers, where capacitances in π1 circuits are high comparing to typical trimming capacitors.

A comparative analysis of the results of numerical modelling of electrophysical processes occurring in the middle of a cylindrical inductor with loading in the form of a beam of ferromagnetic pipes, using various tube plates on the ends of the loading, which is a component of the ecologically clean technology of processing biomass into fuel, is carried out. According to the results of computer simulation, it was found that the construction of “snowflakes” in comparison with round ferromagnetic boards allows reducing losses in them, increasing the capacity of the induction heater, and also passing the coolant, both from the inside of the pipes and from the outside.

Catenary cantilevers are key devices that maintain the spatial position of catenary suspension wires. They determine the catenary parameters and indicators, increase of the calculation accuracy of which requires the consideration for maximum number of factors that affect the work of cantilevers in conditions of operation. The paper includes the overview of methods for testing catenary cantilevers and considers methods and devices for studying friction in cantilever connection joints, including those that consider environment temperature. As a result, the authors propose an improved method of calculation of catenary suspension parameters that is developed on the basis of experimental research results, the use of which will increase the accuracy of adjustment of wires and ropes.
