An osteopathic practitioner often meets the problem of physical fatigue, which is caused by a forced posture, excessive tension of the muscles of the trunk and arms, irrational biomechanical patterns of posture and movements, lack of support points, or switching points of mechanical energy of movement (fulcrum). These factors lead together to fatigue, which is felt as weariness and prevents the development of a pathophysiological state of overwork. Prevention of overwork by an osteopathic doctor can consist of a number of measures of labor organization and ergonomics, one of which is building a state of physical neutrality — a spatial position of the body that allows working with the patient as efficiently as possible and minimizing fatigue.

When studying the geological structure of deeply submerged oil and gas promising horizons and studying the modern geodynamics of the Terek-Caspian trough (TCT), it is very important to clarify the spatial position of the existing fault structures and identify new ones. To determine the spatial position of the faults, a set of geological and geophysical criteria is established, with geophysical features prevailing. Aim. Based on the gravity anomaly map of scale 1: 200,000 and magnetic field maps of scales 1: 200,000 and 1: 500,000, digital models of gravitational and magnetic fields were created and a diagram of the anomalous gravitational field (Δga) of the western part of the TCT was drawn. The electronic database of seismological information was compiled on the basis of information about historical and instrumental earthquakes (1950–2020), as well as macroseismic data. Methods. The transformation of the initial anomalous gravitational field is performed by calculating the horizontal gradient vector Wszand the third vertical derivative Wzzzof the gravity potential using a computer program that implements the F-approximation method based on the representation of the potential of the anomalous gravitational and magnetic fields by the Fourier integral. To analyze the seismicity, the seismic activity А10 was calculated according to the formula of Yu.V. Riznichenko using a computer program that implements the summation method with constant detail, based on the summation of the number of earthquakes of all energy classes greater than the minimum representative in a fixed averaging zone. Results and discussion. Based on the results of processing and interpretation of geophysical data, a set of thematic maps was built for the TCT territory. This set includes maps of the horizontal gradient vector Wsz and the third vertical derivative Wzzz of the gravity potential; seismic activity map А10. Based on the analysis of the data obtained with the involvement of existing geological information, the position of the known faults was clarified and new ones were identified, based on the results of the research, a map of the faults for the western part of the TCT was compiled

The paper presents some possible applications started from a six revolute joints (6R) overconstrained mechanism. The spatial devices obtained are based on the 6R Wohlhart symmetric mechanism in a special spatial position, with three non-adjacent joints constrained to remain in a fixed plane. This special spatial disposition allows us to obtain some reconfigurable/foldable devices, with an estimated application in the automotive industry field.

Abstract Particle velocity is an important parameter to describe the flow characteristics of gas-solid two-phase flow, and it is also a tricky problem for the parameter measurement of gas-solid flow. Aiming at the problem that the spatial filtering effect of electrostatic sensor suffering from the effect of spatial distribution of solid particles, a new type of interdigital electrostatic sensor is proposed to resolve it. Firstly, the spatial filtering characteristics of the interdigital electrostatic sensor are analyzed through finite element simulation, obtained that the spatial position and size of the solid particles have no effect on the peak frequency of the sensor output signal power spectrum, and the quantitative relationship between the velocity and peak frequency is derived. Then the experimental verification is carried out on an experimental platform of gravity conveying particle flow. Simulation and experimental results show that the interdigital electrostatic sensor eliminates the influence of particle spatial position and particle size on the velocity measurement results. In the velocity range of 2.97m/~4.95m/s, the relative error of the measurement system is better than 5%, and the relative standard deviation of repeated measurements is within 3%.

The kinematics of a stretching press mechanism of a parallel structure are investigated. The kinematic dependences aimed at setting the spatial position of the working elements of a cross-stretching press of FET type, which allow positioning its jaws at any time during the technological operations, are obtained. The forward and inverse control kinematics problems of the jaw mechanism stretching press are solved

Background: The mode of action of ultramolecular homeopathic preparations is still unknown. Interactions between objects or entities can be grouped in four main general scientific categories: material, force-/field-like, entanglement-like or informational. Should homeopathic preparations have a field-like mode of action, there is greater probability of cross-contamination as long as the means to “shield” objects from each other is unknown. A field-like interaction would also lead to treatment at a distance effects that are distance-dependent. Aims: We analysed a set of experiments with Arsenicum album 45x treated wheat seedlings regarding a possible distance-dependent cross-contamination. Materials and Methods: We performed an a posteriori analysis of a set of 17 independent experiments [1,2] with wheat seedlings pre-treated with 1‰ arsenic. Three treatments were applied (Arsenicum album 45x, water 45x, or unpotentized water) with 150 seedlings in each treatment group per experiment. Seedlings were arranged in hanging plastic bags side-by-side in identically treated blocks of 10 seedlings. The 3x15 blocks were coded and randomly allocated to the three treatments. Wheat shoot length was measured after 7 days. Treatment effects were analysed as function of the position (1–10) within the blocks of 10 seedlings. Results: Analyzing all data, Arsenicum album 45x exerted an inhibiting effect (–3.2%, p=0.01) compared to both water and water 45x. When restricting the analysis to the outermost seedlings of all subgroups (pos. 1, 10), the treatment effect vanished (0.3%, p=0.92). In contrast, the innermost seedlings of all subgroups (pos. 5, 6) showed a treatment effect of –5.6% (p=0.02). Intermediate pairs of positions (pos. 2–4, 7–9) showed intermediate effects. Regarding shoot length, dependency on spatial position was observed for the plants of the water control groups, but not for the plants treated with Arsenicum album 45x. Conclusions: Whilst the effect of Arsenicum album 45x on wheat-shoot growth was not dependent on the spatial position within the subgroup, the water-control plants became smaller the closer they were to Arsenicum album 45x-treated seedlings. This observation is compatible with the existence of a field-like effect of homeopathic dilutions. Another possible explanation that cannot be ruled out by the present experiments, is contamination through the gas-phase. Future investigations of ultramolecular homeopathic preparations should control any such effects since they may mask treatment effects, leading to false-negative results. Closer investigation of the nature of this distance-dependent effect might contribute to identification of the mode of action of ultramolecular homeopathic preparations.

This paper proposes a cutting head optimization method based on meshing the spatial position of the picks. According to the expanded shape of the spatial mesh composed of four adjacent picks on the plane, a standard mesh shape analysis method can be established with mesh skewness, mesh symmetry, and mesh area ratio as the indicators. The traversal algorithm is used to calculate the theoretical meshing rate, pick rotation coefficient, and the variation of cutting load for the longitudinal cutting head with 2, 3, and 4 helices. The results show that the 3-helix longitudinal cutting head has better performance. By using the traversal result with maximum theoretical meshing rate as the design parameter, the longitudinal cutting head CH51 with 51 picks was designed and analyzed. The prediction model of pick consumption is established based on cutting speed, direct rock cutting volume of each pick, pick rotation coefficient, uniaxial compressive strength, and CERCHAR abrasivity index. And the rock with normal distribution characteristics of Uniaxial Compressive Strength is used for the specific energy calculating. The artificial rock wall cutting test results show that the reduction in height loss suppresses the increase in pick equivalent loss caused by the increase in mass loss, and the pick consumption in this test is only 0.037–0.054 picks/m3. In addition, the correlation between the actual pick consumption and the prediction model, and the correlation between the actual cutting specific energy and the theoretical calculation value are also analyzed. The research results show that the pick arrangement design method based on meshing pick tip spatial position can effectively reduce pick consumption and improve the rock cutting performance.

Meier and Robinson (2004) had subjects identify pleasant and unpleasant words presented individually either at the top or bottom of a computer screen. Subjects identified pleasant words faster when they appeared at the top of the screen and unpleasant words faster whey they appeared at the bottom of the screen. The authors discussed this finding in terms of metaphors noting that in language good things are often allocated upwards (e.g. “things are looking up for me”) and bad things downwards e.g. (“I’m down in the dumps”). The aim of the present study was to investigate whether this relationship between affective stimuli and visual space occurs automatically (implicitly) or whether explicit processing of affective stimuli is required. A second aim was to investigate if memory for affective words is influenced by spatial location. In Experiments 1 and 2 subjects were shown pleasant and unpleasant words presented either at the top or bottom of a computer screen. Half the words were coloured green and half coloured purple. Subjects had to identify the colour as quickly as possible. No significant interaction between stimulus valence and spatial position was found, nor did recall interact with spatial position. In Experiment 3 subjects had to explicitly identify the valence of the words shown either at the top or bottom of the screen. It was predicted that positive stimuli would be explicitly evaluated faster and recalled more accurately when shown at the top of the screen, with the opposite holding true for negative stimuli. Participants were quicker to identify positive words at the top of the screen. Recall did not interact with spatial position. Overall the results of this study were broadly supportive of the hypothesis for explicit evaluation but not so for implicit evaluation or recall.
