With the help of big data and Citespace software, this research makes a statistical analysis of the journals and dissertations on College English teaching and learning materials collected by CNKI from 2011 to 2020. This paper, based on the knowledge map drawn by the visualized analysis of literatures volume, authors, research institutions and keywords clustering, analyzes the current research status and hotspots in the compilation of China’s College English textbooks. It is found that there are six problems in the compilation. Because of the complexity of teaching and learning materials and the dynamic progress of language learning, the nature of English teaching and learning materials is bound to turn from a learning tool to learning resources. Thus, this research, from the perspective of Complex Dynamic System Theory, attempts to develop big data-based College English learning materials with digital, individual and multi-dimensional characteristics by three paths: the establishment of big data-based English learning behaviors index system, the development of big data-based College English learning materials and the application of big data-based College English learning materials. This paper will explore a new way of developing China’s College English learning materials, improve and optimize the compilation and development of College English learning materials in China.

This paper designs the construction dimension of College English individualized teaching space, and constructs its system architecture combining with the requirements of teaching and learning cloud space. Secondly, it expounds the four application strategies of learning cloud space in College English Teaching: individualized spatial dynamic allocation strategy, self-taught strategy under the support of experience, and based on the ubiquitous environment. Fragmented learning strategy and language learning oriented interactive dialogue strategy; finally, it introduces three application patterns in College English Teaching in the light of learning cloud space: overturning, subject inquiry learning and mixed teaching, and verifying the use effect of cloud space through case studies. The results show that customized learning cloud space and its application can improve the efficiency of College English teaching and promote students'mastery of English application skills.

As the development trend of the English era gradually became clear, more and more young people began to pay attention to the special importance of student English teaching in the English learning of Chinese college students. At the same time, in higher vocational colleges, the student English teaching system needs to make certain system adjustments and continuous improvements, not only because the current situation of the development of student English teaching in higher vocational colleges is not optimistic , but also because some students in colleges and universities are less enthusiastic about the work of college English education and learning, which leads to the low quality of college English teaching. As a key stage of talent training and corporate human resource savings in colleges and universities, we still need to continuously strengthen the learning of weak points of English. In other words, in vocational English colleges, our English teaching level needs to be improved to a certain extent. There are still many teaching methods in higher vocational English teaching that need to be gradually improved. This inevitably requires language teachers and English schools to give full play to their roles at the same time. Teachers must fully stimulate students’ interest in learning in the classroom, schools must organize various communicative English regularly. Teaching activities create a good communicative English learning atmosphere for the majority of students themselves, so that they can truly effectively improve their communicative English expression ability.

The research Need Assessment is necessary to make the decisions that influence a learner’s progress. It should therefore be viewed as a fundamental practice that happens naturally in the teaching and learning process. This then means that learners should be assessed continuously to monitor their progress and make daily instructional decisions. The research background was done through the learning process at the State Polytechnic of Creative Media. In finding the right way of designing English material for the publishing students the researcher executed students’ need assessment through questionnaire, interview and class observation (simulation) in learning process. The research question is overcome through eight items of respondents’ understanding, namely: 1) Perception of Lecturers toward the publishing knowledge; 2) Institutional Awareness of Lecturer; 3) Students’ role in learning activities; 4) lecturers’ role in learning process;  5) Evaluation in learning process; 6) Difficulties in designing English materials; 7) Solution in problem solving; 8) Designing English material for the publishing students. The findings of this research cover three main points. First, in order to meet the publishing students’ needs, the design of English learning materials should be formulated according to the level of competencies approaches to national qualification framework of Indonesia. Second, in order to meet the Industrial needs, the design of English learning materials must be able to promote students in performing various technical skills and publishing competencies needed for industry. Third, in order to improve students’ proficiency in understanding EOP materials, the design of English learning materials can ellaborate  Kathelen Graven’s model with its modification by putting actualizing concept after conceptualizing contents.

Currently, the application of educational games is becoming a hot topic, but the application of educational games in college English learning is scarcely explored. To explore the integration of educational games into the college English teaching and learning process, this study adopted a rapid evidence evaluation review (Yu et al. 2020). Since the literature review is an important approach in qualitative sampling techniques, we have conducted a review to identify and synthesize the literature. It analyzed high-quality journal articles published internationally and nationally. We found that educational games were effective in enhancing students’ college English proficiency and learning attitudes. Meanwhile, playful experiences created by educational games could decrease cognitive loads in college English learning. This research provided some support for further implementation of educational games in the college English teaching and learning process.

The widespread use of the Internet and Internet-based devices allows people to access big data easily. With the emergence of big data, the traditional teacher-centered teaching modes can no longer arouse the learning interest of students and cannot satisfy the needs for their overall improvement. A creative and comprehensive teaching mode based on big data environment for students and teachers (BEST) teaching mode was proposed in this study to enhance the teaching effect of teachers and the learning efficiency of students in big data. The challenges brought by big data were analyzed in this study, and a corresponding BEST teaching mode was proposed based on big data. A case study was conducted, in which the BEST teaching mode was applied to college English teaching. SPSS19.0 was used to analyze the results of the experiment. Results demonstrate that the proposed BEST teaching mode allows students to select suitable materials and methods to study and that the proposed mode fundamentally changes the nature of teaching and learning. Findings reveal the many advantages of this mode for both the College English teaching and college English learning. The proposed novel BEST teaching mode plays a significant role in guiding the revolutionary change in the mode and the means of foreign language teaching reforms in China.
