Vinyl records have various cover designs according to the development of modern technology. This study discusses the use of visualization of the album cover design of the 1959-1971 Lokananta keroncong album which is contained in several visual elements, namely typography, illustrations, colors and layouts. Based on the analysis conducted, the use of visual elements complement each other by having their own characteristics. Photographic and computer techniques were used on the album cover.

Despite modern technology, we still find ourselves immersed in the world of nostalgia. Vinyl records, black-and-white films, antiques, or classic books are all an embodiment of timelessness.


The article under review actualizes the problem of using digital computer technologies in the process of blended learning. The notion of «blended learning» is determined and specified according various sources. Various models and ways of organizing this kind of work as an alternative to the standard form of learning are presented. The article presents the positive experience of using blended learning technology. Attention is paid to visualization as one of teaching tool to create educational materials for blended learning. Synthesis of verbal (especially word) and visual elements (pictures, graphic notes, animations, films, plots and diagrams, etc.) within the limits of one text’s space is an instrument of optimization of the process of semantic perception and understanding text information. All benefits of this modern technology allows to establish a holistic adoption of this model by students and the positive direction for the development of blended learning as an innovative teaching technology

Homosexuality has always been a sensitive topic, a taboo in many social contexts. Recent literature has witnessed burgeoning academic attention in the translation of gay literature in the past two decades, while the translation of Chinese gay literature has remained largely unattended. This paper aims to study the translations, reprints and cross-medium retranslations of the modern Chinese founding works of gay literature, Nie Zi (Crystal Boys). The Chinese literary piece has been translated into English and reprints of the translation have appeared in U.S.A. and Hong Kong over the last three decades. It has also been adapted into film production, TV series and a stage performance. With the modern technology, these adaptation productions have been translated and fansubbed for the international audience. This paper will look at the translation of the title, the cover design, the back blurbs and the textual nuances as well for the book translation and its reprints. The fansubbed subtitle translations will also be scrutinized within the framework of retranslation. The English translation, reprints, cross-medium retranslation of Nie Zi proves to be a supporting case of what Harvey calls “gayed translation”, through labelling strategies and other non-linguistic resources proposed by Mona Baker.

In times of PodCast and MOOC's, a rebirth of the "classical" academic lecture in the form of modern technology-mediated communication as video-conserve can be observed. Current technological developments in the field of audiovisual media reduce the distance between a recorded action and its reception. By using high immersive technologies presence experiences can introduc new qualities of communication. In a study undertaken with freshmen we first explored the everyday use of video technologies by students and their experiences and expectations with regard to their use in formal learning contexts. I addition we investigated the question whether and how learning abilities of the recipients are impacted by immersive technologies (360-degree video on Head Mounted Display/VR headset) compared to classical LectureCast technologies (16:9 Video via Desktop). All things considered, it can be stated that an immersive media format alone does not generate added value: there is no increase of attention that further enhances learning, which can be derived from the feeling (of presence) of sitting in a lecture room, even beyond the possibly initial distraction of the appeal of novelty. Furthermore, the teacher-centered mode is unsuitable for a spherical projection due to its spatial setting, where only one direction is being employed. In order to exploit possible media-specific values of 360-degree video in the context of LectureCasts, it is consequently necessary to work either with a modified concept of a teacher-centered lecture, using the entire space, or to set a focus on the content by combining the recorded lecture with additional visual elements. The generally accepted first-line treatment in patients with intermittent claudication is risk factor modification, medical treatment and exercise training. In an era of reduced resources, the benefit of any further invasive intervention must be weighted against best conservative therapy for patients with claudication. According to some recent trials an integrative therapeutic concept combining best conservative treatment - including (supervised) exercise therapy - with endovascular therapy gives the best midterm results concerning walking distance and health-related quality of life. The improved mid- and long-term patency rate with use of modern technology further supports this concept. The conservative and interventional treatment strategy are more complimentary than competitive. The current main challenge is to overcome the economic barriers concerning the availability of exercise programmes.

Routine transmission of electrocardiograms and their computer interpretation via long-distance telephone lines has been proven feasible in the Automated Electrocardiogram Project of the Missouri Regional Medical Program. Though this Pilot Project — the first on a state-wide basis — is still viewed as an applied research effort rather than a service, such biotelemetry is rapidly gaining acceptance as a medium to bring modern medicine, through modern technology, to urban and remote rural areas as well, where it is most needed.The computer executes all the wave measuraments and calculations with incredible speed. It takes over a most boring, repetitive part of the physician’s work. However, it can only follow the instructions of the diagnostic program, compiled by expert cardiologists. Thus, it is an ever-ready, never-tiring servant for the physician and his patients.

This survey outlines the use of computer vision in Image and video processing in multidisciplinary applications; either in academia or industry, which are active in this field.The scope of this paper covers the theoretical and practical aspects in image and video processing in addition of computer vision, from essential research to evolution of application.In this paper a various subjects of image processing and computer vision will be demonstrated ,these subjects are spanned from the evolution of mobile augmented reality (MAR) applications, to augmented reality under 3D modeling and real time depth imaging, video processing algorithms will be discussed to get higher depth video compression, beside that in the field of mobile platform an automatic computer vision system for citrus fruit has been implemented ,where the Bayesian classification with Boundary Growing to detect the text in the video scene. Also the paper illustrates the usability of the handed interactive method to the portable projector based on augmented reality.   © 2018 JASET, International Scholars and Researchers Association
