It is believed that many of the problems confronting leaders can be traced to their inability to analyze and evaluate organizational cultures. Thus, many leaders, when trying to implement new strategies or a strategic plan leading to a new vision, will discover that their strategies will fail if they are inconsistent with the organization's culture. Organizational culture does not only affect the manner in which managers manage and consequently shape employee behavior, but also the total output and the way it provides services to its customers. Corporate culture or organizational culture is the behavior of humans within an organization and the meaning that people attach to those behaviors. Culture includes the organization's vision, values, norms, systems, symbols, language, assumptions, beliefs, and habits. In addition, different individuals bring to the workplace their own uniqueness, knowledge, and ethnic culture. Corporate culture covers moral, social, and behavioral norms of one’s organization based on the values, beliefs, attitudes, and priorities of its members. The researcher can say that corporate culture does have a positive impact on the productivity of any organisation, and with Vodafone, it does increase its productivity. The national culture is a system of assumptions, values, norms and traditions shared by one national group; the corporate culture is a system of rituals, behavior patters, norms and values shared by majority of employees in a company. Both cultures influence the style of management and communication with employees. The national culture influences the corporate culture, but in a long term, a corporate culture can also influence the national culture. Strong corporate cultures can suppress the national culture through the system of standardization of business operations, which in international companies is an element of brand identification and a competitive advantage. Global hotel companies which manage the hotels all over the world, face problems which derive from differences between their own corporate culture and national cultures of local staff. The efficiency of operations will depend on the way and skills in handling those problems. The influence of national and sometimes local cultures might have positive impact on creation of very successful hotel system of hotel service which often is well accepted on tourist market, but might also result with potential misunderstandings and even opposite effects. The paper surveys the elements of national cultures which might have impact on corporate cultures. The paper assumes that global hotel companies often face big cultural and social differences in certain destinations of their business interest. The model of survey are hotel corporate cultures in Croatian, European and world hotels and their corporations.

The purpose of this study is to explore the aesthetical features of corporate recruitment websites, including the website design, style, and color, and to investigate their impact on organizational attractiveness and applicants' intention to apply. By doing so, the study also examines the effects of corporate websites on applicants' perception of the corporate culture and measures the mediating impact of perceptions of organizational culture on organizational attractiveness and applicants' intention to apply for the jobs in the context of Pakistan. The study is based on a laboratory experiment with three hundred undergraduate business students conducted at a university computer lab. Correlation, Independent T-test, One-way ANOVA, and Simple Linear Regression were applied to analyze variables using SPSS. The findings of this study support the hypothesis that website features have a significant positive impact on applicants' perceived organizational attractiveness. However, the website's design does not seem to impact applicants' intentions to apply for the job substantially. The regression analysis results also revealed that the perceived organizational culture partially mediates the relationship between website features and organizational attractiveness and fully mediates the relationship between website features and intentions to Apply.

Purpose This study aims to develop a theoretical framework of the impact of clan and hierarchy cultures and knowledge technological capabilities on organizational learning. Design/methodology/approach A questionnaire survey was used to collect data from 693 employees working in knowledge management centers in various law and enforcement units in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Structural equation modeling was used to test the relationships between the variables. Findings The findings show that the clan culture had a significant negative effect on organizational learning. However, hierarchy culture and knowledge technological capabilities had a significant positive impact in predicting organizational learning behavior. Research limitations/implications The study focuses on a specific type of public organization only, which somewhat limits the generalizability of the research results. Second, as the study was cross-sectional, the causal relationships could not be inferred directly. The study results will help policymakers create a learning organization by examining the impact of organizational culture and knowledge of technological capabilities. Originality/value This paper has added knowledge about the relationship between culture types, knowledge technological capabilities and organizational learning, particularly in the UAE. This study helps to bridge the gap in research on culture and knowledge technological capabilities and organizational learning.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of organizational culture (OC) on social capital (SC) between experts of research-based industrial organizations who were aware of the subject of research. Design/methodology/approach The tools in this study were the native and modified questionnaire of Denison OC model with 33 items and Abili’s developed questionnaire based on Nahapiet and Ghoshal model for SC with 24 items. Validity of questionnaire well approved based on face validity method by experts, specialists and professors of management. Using the results of pre-test, Cronbach’s alpha was showed the very high reliability. Because of the low number of experts, we did not sampling and decided to distribute questionnaires among all of them. In all, 120 completely filled questionnaires were returned out of the 134 distributed. For examining the main hypothesis and sub-hypothesis of this study simple linear regression and multiple regression analysis were used. Findings The results of regression analysis showed that regression line ascribes changes in dependent variable (SC) to independent variable (OC). It means that in research-based industrial organizations, OC has a significant positive impact on SC and cultural traits with internal focus have more impact on SC than those with external focus. Then, with the use of parametric tests, the relationship between OC and SC and between components of OC and SC was investigated. Finally, Pearson correlation tests results confirmed the significant relationships. Overall, the results of this study show the significant, positive, strong relationship between OC and SC. Originality/value As there are not many studies about the impact of OC on SC, this paper’s findings will be useful to assess and improve the cultural situation for increasing the SC in organization.

This study is aimed to investigate the impact of senior management support, employees’ involvement and open corporate culture on the motivation of employees in the education sector of Pakistan. To collect the primary data, a self-administrated questionnaire is used while for secondary data collection research journals and articles are used. The sample size of this study consists of two hundred employees (hundred from public and hundred from private institutes). SPSS is used for measuring the association between variables and to see the impact of senior management support, open corporate culture, and involvement of employees on the motivation of employees. Correlation analysis and regression analysis are used to test the hypothesis of the research model. The motivation of the employees mainly depends upon senior management support and employees' involvement in decision making. Findings of the results support hypothesis 1, 2 & 3 while disproving hypothesis 4. Senior management support and employees’ involvement in decision making have a significant and positive impact on the motivation of employees. And the open corporate culture has no meaningful impact on employees’ motivation.

Corporate culture is a significant feature of an organization which is implied as the fundamental aspect of organizational strategy. It facilitates consistent employee behavior and helps new recruits to socialize and adapt to the workplace in accordance with organizational goals.Corporate cultures have manifold influence on employee performance and satisfaction levels.Employees act more sincerely and responsibly to attain organizational goals, once they are certain of their direct involvement in the organization. Culture of an organization helps employees develop their skills to observe and question expressive meanings of organizational rituals as well as gives a sense of distinctiveness to its members. As the employees spend the major part of their life while working with organizations, corporate culture gives them an opportunity to enhance their creativity, and direct their attitudes toward everything associated to work life. Thus, organizational culture influences organizational effectiveness. The culture of a workplace has a strong impact on the welfare of workplace in both short as well as long term and a positive culture escalates the proficiency and performance of organizations. The present study examines the relationship between organizational culture and employees’ functioning and performance. In addition, it explores the impact of organizational culture on employees’performance.

This study aims to evaluate and examine the impact of leadership, organizational culture, and administrative performance management systems at Hasanuddin University Hospital Makassar. This research was conducted at Hasanuddin University Hospital Makassar from June to July 2020. The study method used is survey research using cross-section data, where information is obtained from respondents using a questionnaire whose population data is focused on the fact that all members of the population are sampled, namely 87 employees. The path analysis is used for statistical research. The findings indicate that leadership has a significant favourable influence on Hasanuddin University Hospital's organizational success in Makassar. The administration has a positive and considerable impact on the control system at Hasanuddin University Hospital in Makassar. Corporate culture has a positive but negligible effect on organizational success, and organizational culture has a positive and significant influence on the control system at Hasanuddin University Hospital in Makassar. The control system has a positive and substantial effect on the Hasanuddin University Hospital's organizational efficiency in Makassar. Leadership has a positive but no considerable impact on organizational success through the control system at Hasanuddin University Hospital in Makassar. Corporate culture has a positive but negligible influence on organizational success through the control system at Hasanuddin University Hospital in Makassar.

The study was conducted to evaluate the impact of capital investment on the economic growth of cities and provinces in the Mekong Delta. The data were collected in 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta in the period of 2010-2017 and it was collected in the spatial-temporal dimension. Therefore, it is appropriate to apply the panel data regression to the research model. The research results with the significance level of 90% pointed out several outcomes. In the structure of capital sources, private investment has the strongest impact on GRDP growth, followed by the state sector investment, while the foreign investment had no impact on the total output of the Mekong Delta’s cities and provinces. Besides, the study demonstrated that trained employees aged 15 and above, tourism revenue, and fishery production are factors that have a positive impact on the economic growth of the cities and provinces in the Mekong Delta.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to fill the gap in the literature by exploring the perceived societal discrimination as an antecedent of perceived organizational discrimination, and investigating the impact of organizational culture (i.e. constructive, passive-defensive and aggressive-defensive culture norms) on perceptions of discrimination in the workplace. Design/methodology/approach A total of 176 American employees completed three surveys assessing perceived societal discrimination, perceived organizational discrimination and organizational culture online through Amazon Mechanical Turk. Data were analyzed using hierarchical multiple regression method. Findings Results suggest individuals’ perceptions of discrimination in the workplace are influenced by both perceived discrimination in society and perceptions of behavioral norms related to organizational culture. Findings in the current study indicated individuals’ attitudes and beliefs manifested in the societal context were carried into, and reflected in, the workplace. Additionally, beliefs related to organizational discrimination were found to be amplified or minimized depending on organizational culture; specifically, organizations dominated by culture norms reflecting behaviors related to individual security needs predicted higher levels, and culture norms reflecting behaviors related to meeting employee satisfaction needs predicted lower levels of perceived organizational discrimination. Originality/value This paper tested theoretical frameworks debated in the literature by exploring beyond institutional boundaries in the study of perceived discrimination by exploring perceived societal discrimination as an antecedent to perceived organizational discrimination. This project also is the first study (to authors’ knowledge) to investigate the impact of organizational culture on perceived organizational discrimination.

AbstractThis paper analyzes the impact of annual weather fluctuations on the total output of wine and on the share of output of different wine-quality categories in Germany, using a set of wine data from all thirteen German wine regions and daily weather data taken from regional weather stations. The empirical analysis suggests that rising average temperatures have a significantly positive impact on the total output of wine as well as on the output shares of wine in higher-quality categories. The number of freezing days appears to be detrimental to overall production; precipitation during the growing season impairs higher-quality wines in particular. (JEL Classifications: Q21, Q13)
