This study aims to develop games in physical education subjects in schools based on DAP (Developmentally Appropriate Practice). Then in this research will produce a product in the form of a game module with the concept of DAP (Developmentally Appropriate Practice) for basic locomotor motion. This type of research is development research based on the Borg and Gall Model. The trial subjects consisted of material experts, game experts, and Physical Education teachers at Imanuel Medan and Methodist 1 Medan elementary schools. The first stage of this model is the needs research stage, followed by the design stage and the third stage is development and implementation. In this stage all stages involve an evaluation and revision process. Material expert judgment is 89%, for game experts by 90.8% and the results of the sports teacher assessment at stage I was 73.8% and at stage II was 86%. Results The results of product appraisal have increased with a difference of significance of 12.2%. This shows that the product developed on locomotor motion through game development based on DAP (Developmentally Appropriate Practice) is appropriate for use in the implementation of learning.

LANGUAGE NOTE | Document text in English; abstract also in Chinese. Teachers may change their teaching practices and develop differently during their teaching lives. Occupational socialization model was used as the theoretical framework of this study. The purpose of this study was to examine the teaching practices of three primary physical education teachers after four years of teaching and seek explanations for the practices. A mixed-methods approach was used to collect data in the study. The participants were videotaped and observed teaching four ball game lessons in their own schools. The lessons were coded using the Physical Education Teacher Assessment Instrument. Data generated were compared to lessons observed four years before using the same categories. Qualitative data were collected through lesson observations and interviews before and after they taught. Constant comparison and analytic induction were used to organise and categorise the data. The trustworthiness of the study was established by using triangulation, peer debriefing and member checking. The results indicate that the teachers adjusted their teaching focus and modified their practices after four years. Explanations are given here for the modifications of practice. The findings provide invaluable information for physical education teacher educators in the preparation of both pre-service and in-service physical education teachers.

The purpose of this study was to investigate differences in scores on the Texas Teacher Appraisal System between subgroups of teachers. The scores for physical education and non-physical education teachers and for elementary and secondary teachers in a large school district over a period of 2 years were examined. A 2 (physical education/non–physical education) × 2 (elementary/secondary) × 2 (Year 1/Year 2) ANOVA, with repeated measures on the last factor, was performed to determine differences in overall summary performance scores. An additional analysis of the distribution of physical education teachers’ scores was completed. Results showed that non-physical education teachers and elementary teachers received higher scores and that scores increased from the first year to the second year. In addition, physical education teachers were disproportionately represented in the lower percentiles of the population. These results suggest implications for physical education, for those teaching at the secondary level, and for those involved in policy issues in teacher evaluation.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether the Physical Education Teacher Attitudes Toward Fitness Tests Scale (PETAFTS) produces reliable and valid scores. There were 4 stages and 4 sets of participants in the development of the PETAFTS. First, the domains of attitude were defined and cognitive and affective components were developed, organized, and validated. In the second stage, 134 full-time physical education teachers participated in a pilot study and PETAFTS was revised based on the information obtained. In the third stage, 28 teacher educators served on an expert panel and organized the items into domain areas. In the final stage, 322 physical education teachers from 10 states tested the revised PETAFTS. Based on the results, the PETAFTS was shortened by deleting and combining some of the items in subdomains; this resulted in a 16-item final version that, according to the indices, generates reliable and valid scores.

First aid performed properly can minimize the aggravations and even save lives. In the school context, emergency situations are part of the daily life and it is essential that Physical Education Teachers have a basic knowledge to carry out the school needs. This study verified the Physical Education (PE) Teachers knowledge from Santa Cecilia-SC public teaching related to first aid. It featured in descriptive nature, transversal, with quantitative and qualitative analysis of the data. Eleven PE teachers participated of the study. For the data collection, it was developed a questionnaire addressing conceptual aspects, procedures and attitudes concerning professional daily life. From the total, only one teacher did not have the first aid subject at the college. Teachers in their minority feel able to provide the first aid and even take on the situations, showing satisfactory theory knowledge, however in real life they feel insecure to act on before serious situations. It points out that more than 80% know how to act before less aggravating calls. Nonetheless, during cardiopulmonary arrest (CPR) and hemorrhages, they reported the need of an updated training. Mainly in children, they do not feel safe to provide the aid. It was possible to conclude that Physical Education Teachers showed a satisfactory level of knowledge in theory, however it suggest courses periodic updates.

Keywords: First Aid.
