Minas Frescal cheese has wide acceptance and it is part of many Brazilians' typical diet. However, it was observed that there is an increase in the search for similar products of vegetable origin, due to health problems related to the intake of dairy products. This research aimed to evaluate the potential replacement of Minas cheese by the similar vegetable cheese - tofu. Two brands of Minas Frescal Cheese (MC) and two of similar vegetable product (VS) (tofu), were assessed based on microbiological, physicochemical and sensory parameters. All samples are in accordance with the microbiological standards of Brazilian law. The pH was around 6.0. The samples MC1 and MC2 had high levels of acidity and lipids, while the VS1 and VS2 had high levels of protein. Samples with high moisture content were also the least firm (VS1 and MC1).The general acceptance of  attributes was satisfactory for samples MC1 and MC2, which would be bought and consumed, while the opposite was true  with VS1 and VS2. All samples were considered to have a salt level below the ideal level. The samples MC1 and VS1 assessed were less firm than the ideal level, while samples MC2 and VS2 were firmer than the ideal level. Tofu was not accepted as a substitute for Minas Frescal Cheese by consumers. It requires optimization of texture and salt level in order to fulfill this purpose. However, Tofu presented an advantage in relation to its low fat level and high protein level.

Onion (Allium cepa L.) is a strong-flavoured vegetable consumed in different ways and its distinctive flavor or simply pungency. Onion has also important natural compounds effective for medical functions. Its importance is directly related with high content of high organosulphur compounds. Shelf life of fresh onion bulb is short enough due to the presence of high moisture content where postharvest loss of onion bulb reaches up to 50% in the production season. Consequentially Onion bulb had extreme variable market price during production and off season which affect both growers and consumers. So in this study the nutritional and volatile components of different drying methods of onion were evaluated. Effect of different drying method on protein, carbohydrate, total sugar, fat, pyurvic acid, ascorbic acid, total phenol, total flovonol, rehydration ratio, colour and sensory properties of onion slice were evaluated and found insignificant at (P < 0.05) for microwave and modified direct solar dryer. But oven drying method had significant effect on onion bulb quality attributes at (P < 0.05) than other two drying methods.

Abstract: Seeds harvested on the ears have high moisture content. On that account, this study aimed at evaluating the loss of physiological quality of corn seeds harvested on the ears, as a function of different drying-delay times. Hybrid corn ears were harvested at 31% moisture and then had their drying postponed for 0, 12, 24 and 36 h, while subjected to temperatures of 30, 40, 50 and 60 °C. The physiological quality was evaluated after 0, 4, 8 and 12 months of storage. A completely randomized design was employed, in a 4 x 4 x 4 factorial scheme, with four replications. In addition, a study was performed in a seed-processing unit, reporting the average waiting time before drying and the temperatures of all loads of a corn hybrid received at the facility. The physiological quality was not affected by temperatures below 40 °C, considering 36 h of waiting before drying. At 50 ºC during the drying delay, the germination was impaired 36 h afterward, and the vigor was compromised after 24 h, with the damage effects intensifying as the storage advanced. At the temperature of 60 ºC, the deficits in germination and vigor occurred within the first hours of drying delay.

Abstract Eastern goat’s rue (Galega orientales Lam.) possesses high fodder productivity and accumulates a large amount of vegetative mass with high humidity for harvesting for seeds. This greatly complicates the harvesting of grass stand for seeds. One of the ways to solve this problem is to carry out desiccation of the grass stand. A complicating factor in choosing the optimal harvesting period is the extended flowering and ripening period of goat’s rue beans, the duration of which reaches 25-35 days. The use of the drug Reglon Super based on diquat is a highly effective agrotechnical method that allows increasing the collection of seeds by 24%. The desiccation of the herbage contributes to the production of seeds with high sowing qualities. The seeds with the best sowing qualities are found in beans with yellow, brown, brown or dark brown color of the beans. In light green beans, the seeds are fully formed, but have a high moisture content. Goat’s rue beans do not crack or crumble at the onset of the full ripeness phase. This allows the seed to be harvested when most of the beans are ripe. A comparative assessment of the timing and method of harvesting the seed herbage of the goat’s rue showed that with a ripening of 39% and the presence of 47% of light green and yellow beans, the yield losses ranged from 26 to 56%. The highest seed yield in one confidence interval of 422-453 kg / ha and 444 kg / ha was obtained, respectively, by direct threshing with preliminary desiccation of the grass stand in the ripening phase of 74-97% of beans or by separate harvesting when mowing into swaths during ripening 74 % beans.

AbstractDuring 1984–1997, the ferronickel plant in Drenas used iron-nickel ore from the mines of the Republic of Kosovo: Glavica and Çikatove (Dushkaje and Suke) mines. However, during the years 2007–2017, when the plant started operating from the cessation of production, which was from 1998 to 2007, some types of iron-nickel ores from different countries began to be used, starting from iron-nickel ores from Kosovo, iron-nickel ores from Albania, ores from Indonesia, ores from the Philippines, ores from Guatemala, ores from Turkey and ores from Macedonia. The ore composition, however, is mainly oxide-laterite ore. Iron-nickel ores in the plant are characterised by high moisture content, a very important factor influencing the process of scraping the charge in rotary kilns and presenting in general. Among the iron-nickel ore used in the ferronickel plant, the ores from Albania are characterised due to their low moisture content when compared with the other ores as well as the high content of iron oxides, which affect the temperature rise inside the furnaces, as the iron ores play an important role in the pre-casting process in rotary kilns.

In a fungal suryey of sawn timbers in scattared localities in Benin City, fungal species isolated were mainly members of <i>Hyphomycetes</i>, with few <i>Ascomycetes</i> and<i> Basidiomycetes</i>. Cellulolytic abilities of isolates were determined and found to be highest in a basidiomycete, <i>Pleurotus ostreatus</i>. The high incidence of these isolates was traced to the poor ventillation in the shades where the timbers arę sold and the high moisture content of timber before display for sale.
