This study presents a research report on using simulation method to improve the activity and the students’ learning result improving students’ Learning results on PKn. The objective was to find out whether the activity and the students’ learning result improved when they are taught by using Video. It was conducted using classroom action research method. The subject of the study was the Grade IV students of SDN 187/IV Kota Jambi which is located on Jln. Adi Sucipto RT 05 Kecamatan Jambi Selatan, and the number of the students were 9 persons. The instruments used were test as quantitative data and observation, interview, and questionnaire were used as qualitative data. In analyzing the data, the mean of the students’ score for the on first cycle was 74.11 and the mean on cycle two was 78.00 and the mean of the third cycle was 84.7. Then it can be concluded that the use of simulation as a learning method can improve the students’ activity and students’ learning result. It is suggested that teachers should apply simulation method as a learning method to improve students’ activity and students’ learning result on PKn.Keywords : PKn, learning results, simulation method

This study presents a research report on improving students’ Learning results on IPA through Video. The objective was to find out whether students’ learning result improved when they are taught by using Video. It was conducted using classroom action research method. The subject of the study was the Grade IV students of SDN 187/IV Kota Jambi which is located on Jln. Adi Sucipto RT 05 Kecamatan Jambi Selatan, and the number of the students were 21 persons. The instruments used were test. In analyzing the data, the mean of the students’ score for the on fisrt sycle was 65,4 (42,85%) and the mean on cycle two was 68,5 (37,15%) and the mean of the third cycle was 81,4 (100%). Then it can be concluded that the use of video on learning IPA can improve the students’ learning result. It is suggested that teachers should use video as one of the media to improve students’ learning result on IPA.Keywords : IPA, students’ learning result, video

This study attempts to improve students’ writing achievement in recount text through Think-Pair-Share Strategy. This study was conducted by using classroom action research. The subject of the research was class VIII-1 SMPN 1 Pematangsiantar. The number of the students was 32 students, consisted of 5 males and twenty seven females. The research was conducted in two cycles and consisted of six meetings. The instruments for collecting data were writing tests as the quantitative data and diary notes, observation sheet, interview sheet and questionnaire sheet as qualitative data. Based on the writing score, students’ scores kept improving in every test. In analyzing the data, the mean of the students’ score for the first test as a pre-test was 57.84, for the second test as a post test I was 73.56, for the third test as a post test II was 77.56. Based on diary notes, observation sheet and questionnaire sheet, it was found that students were actively involved in writing process. The result of the research showed that Think-Pair-Share Strategy can improve students’ achievement in writing recount text.   Keywords: Think Pair Share, Writing, Recount text, Action research

Abstract This study concerrns with Improving the Students Writing Narrative Text by Applying Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition Technique.The objective was to investigate improvement of students’ writing narrative text by applying Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition Technique. This research was conducted by using action research method. The subject of the study was grade VIII students of MTS Al- Hasanah Medan totalling to 29 students. They were taught writing by cooperative integrated reading and composition technique. The instruments for collecting data were quantitative data and qualitative data (observation sheet, questionnaire sheet, and interview sheet). Based on the test score of quantitative data, students’ score kept improving in every evaluation. In the orientation test the mean was 43, 2, in the cycle I test the mean was 55, 6. In the cycle II test the mean was 67.2. The percentage of orientation test was 10, 34%, cycle I test was 24, 13% and cycle II test was 86, 20%. The finding of the research showed that applying Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition Technique significantly improved students’ writing. The qualitative data show that the students were more interested and motivated on writing through cooperative integrated reading and composition technique. It is suggested that teachers should apply cooperative integrated reading and composition technique as one of methods to improve students’ writing. This study focuses on improving students’ achievement in writing News Item text through Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) Technique. This study was conducted by using classroom action research. The subject of this research was the grade X students of SMA Mitra Inalum. Twenty four students were taken as the sample. The research was conducted in two cycles. First cycle was conducted in four meetings. The second cycle was conducted in two meetings. The instruments for collecting data were quantitative data (writing test) and qualitative data (observation sheet, diary note, and questionnaire sheet). Based on the data analysis, students’ score kept improving in every test. The mean of the students’ score in the first competence test was 38.4, in the second competence test was 75.4 and in the third competence test was 81.9. The result showed that Cooperative Integrated and Reading Composition (CIRC) technique improved students’ achievement in writing news item text.

The instruments for collecting data were quantitative data and qualitative data (observation sheet and questionnaire sheet). Based on the test score of quantitative data, students’ score kept improving in every evaluation. In the orientation test the mean was 43, 2, in the cycle I test the mean was 55, 6. This study deals with the way to improve students’ achievement in speaking particularly through Two Stay Two Stray Strategy. This study was conducted by using classroom action research. The subject of of the research was class X-AP SMK Swasta Harapan Danau Sijabut in Asahan Regency that consisted of 34 students. The research was conducted in two cycles consisted of three meetings in each cycle. The instruments of collecting data for quantitative data used Speaking Test and instrument for analysis of qualitative data used observation, interview and questionnaire sheet. Based on the speaking test score, students’ score kept improving in every test. In the test I the mean was 61,47, in the test II the mean was 67,41 and the test III the mean was 78,52. Based on observation sheet and questionnaire sheet, it was found that teaching learning process run well and lively. Students were active and interest in speaking. The using of Two Stay Two Stray Strategy is significantly improved students’ achievement in speaking.

This research concerns on improving students’ writing achievement in the report text through film.  The objective was to find out the improvement of students’ writing achievement in writing the report text through film. This research was conducted by using action research method. The subject of the research was XI IPA grade students of SMA SWASWTA JOSUA Medan. The numbers of students were thirty one students. They were taught writing the report text through film. The instruments used were writing report text test, diary notes, interview sheets, questionnaire sheets and observation sheets. In analyzing data, the mean of students’ score for the first competency test was 43.1, for the second competency test was 64.8 and for the third competency test was 76.3 and the total percentage of improvement from the first competency test to the third competency test was 84.1%. The conclusion is that through watching film can improve the students’ writing achievement in the report text. It is suggested that teachers should apply watching film as one of media to improve students’ writing achievement in the report text.

This study attempts to improve students’ vocabulary achievement through Clustering Technique. This study was conducted by using classroom action research. The subject of the research was class VIII-B SMP Katolik Trisakti 2 Medan that consisted of 32 students. The research was conducted in two cycles and each cycle consisted of three meetings. The instruments for collecting data were vocabulary tests for quantitative data and diary notes, observation sheet and questionnaire sheet for qualitative data. Students’ score kept improving in every test. In the first cycle test, the mean of vocabulary score was 64.68. And in the second cycle test, the mean of vocabulary score was 79.85. Based on diary notes, observation sheet and questionnaire sheet, teaching and learning process had done effectively showed the improvement. Every student was studied actively. And from the research can be concluded that Clustering Technique can improve students’ achievement in vocabulary.
