Learning in the class must be well planned, one of which to create learning instruments that refer to the curriculum implementation. This research aims to produce mathematics learning instruments (Syllabus, Lesson Plan, and Student workshet) using the problem based learning model in the linear systems with two variables matter. This research is a research and development (R&D) using the 4-D model. The research instrument were an instrument of validity in the form of a validation sheet to assess the validity (syllabus, RPP and LKPD) and practical instruments in the form of a questionnaire for students' responses to LKPD. Validation data analysis results obtained an average value for the syllabus is 3.36 in the category of very valid,  value for the RPP is 3.23 in the category of valid, value for the LKPD is 3.32 in the category very valid. Validation result facts state the syllabus, RPP and LKPD are feasible use.  The results of practicality data analysis of LKPD in small group was 87.01% in the very practical category and the result of practicality data analysis in large group trials was 86.10% in the very practical category. Which means the mathematics learning instruments can improve students’ mathematical problem solving ability and feasible used for students in learning.

The student learning activities do not support developing mathematical problem solving abilities. One of the factors is the learning tools used have not provided the opportunity for students to hone their mathematical problem solving skills. This study aims to produce a valid and practical semester VIII class SMP mathematics learning device for use by using the Problem Based Learning Model with a scientific approach to the SPLDV material. This type of research is a development research with the ADDIE development model which includes the following steps: (1) analysis, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, (5) evaluation. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and student response questionnaires. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII MTS GUPPI Bandar Sungai. Data analysis techniques used qualitative and quantitative statistics. Based on the results of data analysis, information was obtained that the learning device met the valid and practical criteria. The results of the validity of the learning tools in the form of a syllabus with a percentage of 82.99%, RPP 85.75% and LKPD of 83.23% fulfilled the validity level, namely valid. The results of the practicality of the learning tools seen from the student response questionnaire were 92%, these results met the practicality level, which was very practical, while in terms of the teacher's observation sheet it fulfilled the practicality level of 87.78% fulfilling the very practical level.

This study aims to: 1) find out whether students' mathematical problem solving abilities that are taught with problem based learning are better than students who are taught by direct learning. 2) find out whether the mathematical problem solving ability of students who have high learning motivation is better than students who have low learning motivation. 3) find out whether there is an interaction between learning and student learning motivation towards students' mathematical problem solving abilities. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a 2x2 factorial design. The study population was fifth grade students (five) in the odd semester of the 2017/2018 Academic Year at SDN 0407 Mondang which consisted of two classes with a sample of 50 students. The class used as the sample of the experimental group is class V A with 25 students and the control class is class V B with 25 students. Thus the sample selection is done by total sampling technique. Data was collected by student achievement test and student motivation instrument. The collected data was processed statistically using a two-way variance (anava) analysis technique with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that (1) There was an influence of problem-based learning methods on the mathematical problem solving ability of Class V students of SD Negeri 0407 Mondang 2017/2018 Academic Year; (2) There is an influence of student learning motivation on the mathematical problem solving ability of fifth grade students of SD Negeri 0407 Mondang for the Academic Year 2017/2018; and (3) There is an interaction between problem-based learning methods and students' motivation to the mathematical problem solving ability of students of Class V of SD Negeri 0407 Mondang 2017/2018 Academic Year. Practically, this study recommends that teachers use problem-based learning methods in mathematics learning and pay attention to the level of student motivation so that the learning design is adjusted to that motivation level. Theoretically, this study contributes to adding knowledge related to problem-based mathematics learning in elementary schools. Further studies can deepen studies related to the suitability of student characteristics with the selected learning method because these aspects are indicated as one of the key factors for student learning success.

This study aims to determine the effect of using student worksheet (LKPD) based on the Problem Based Learning model on the mathematical problem solving abilities of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Pangean. This type of research was a quasi-experimental study with a pretest – posttest control group design. The population was all students of SMP Negeri 2 Pangean Indonesia in the 2019/2020 school year. Sampling method was using random sampling technique. Based on the results of data analysis, the posttest mean score in the experimental class was 85.45 and the average value in the control class was 54.5, meaning that the average value of the experimental class was higher than the control class. The two-mean difference test using the t test was significant (2-tailed) 0.000 <α = 0.05, which means that the posttest score of students 'mathematical problem solving abilities was different from the average posttest score of students' mathematical problem solving abilities. which uses scientific learning. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of the Problem Based Learning model on students' mathematical problem solving abilities.

ABSTRACT This research is an experiment research that aims to determine the significant effect of problem-based learning model on mathematic problem solving ability of grade IX students of SMP Negeri 6 Medan. The population in this study is the entire class IX SMP Negeri 6 Medan consisting of 11 classes. Sampling is done randomly by simple random sampling method and many samples in this research consist of 2 classes, that is class IX-J as control class with conventional learning that is direct learning model and class IX-K as experiment class with problem-based learning model, the number of students in each class is 36 students. The instrument used in this study is a test description of 3 test problem math problem solving abilities that have been declared valid. Based on the test data of mathematical problem solving ability, the average value in the control class is 51.83, while the average value in the experimental class is 75.50. By using the calculation of one-way hypothesis test, obtained at 6.86 and 1.66691 at the real level = 0.05 so. Thus rejected and accepted, it means there is a significant effect of problem-based learning model of mathematical problem solving ability of students of class IX SMP Negeri 6 Medan.Keyword: mathematics problem solving ability, problem based learning model ABSTRAKPenelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh yang signifikan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 6 Medan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas IX SMP Negeri 6 Medan yang terdiri dari 11 kelas. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak dengan metode simple random sampling dan banyak sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 kelas, yaitu kelas IX-J sebagai kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran konvensional yaitu model pembelajaran langsung dan kelas IX-K sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah, jumlah siswa pada masing-masing kelas adalah 36 orang siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes uraian  sebanyak 3 soal tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik yang telah dinyatakan valid. Berdasarkan data tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik, nilai rata-rata di kelas kontrol sebesar 51,83, sedangkan nilai rata-rata di kelas eksperimen sebesar 75,50. Dengan menggunakan perhitungan uji hipotesis satu arah, diperoleh  sebesar 6,86 dan  sebesar 1,66691 pada taraf nyata = 0,05 sehingga .  Dengan demikian  ditolak dan  diterima, artinya terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 6 Medan.Kata kunci: kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik, model pembelajaran berbasis masalah

This research was motivated by the lack of learning devices that are considered to be able to train students mathematical problem solving abilities. The purpose of this study was to develop mathematical learning tools that meet the valid, practical, and effective requirements to improve the mathematical problem solving abilities of students in grade VIII SMP on flat side space. The development model used was the 4D model. Based on the results of the validation data analysis, it was concluded that the learning device developed was valid. The results of the syllabus validation were 80.56%, RPP 81.43%, LKPD 87.34%, pretest questions 78.94%, posttest questions 79.86%. This learning tool fulfills the practical requirements in large group trials with an average performance result of 93.06% and an average questionnaire response of students 91.21%. The use of effective learning tools has improved the student learning outcomes. Development of learning tools can significantly improve students mathematical problem solving abilities at a significant level of 0,000 with α = 0.05. This shows that the learning tools that was developed already meet the valid, practical, and effective requirements and can improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities.

The   aims   of   this   research   are focused  to  examine  the  effect  of  learning model      was      estimated      to      decrease mathematics    anxiety    and    to    increase student's    mathematical    problem    solving ability.  The  instrument  that  used  for  this research were ability test of problem solving in math and mathematics quosionaire with likert  scale.  The  data  analysis  used  mixed method embedded konkruen method. Based on  data  analysis  concluded  (1)  the  result show the increasing student's mathematical problem  solving  ability  by  problem  based learning  model  better  than  by  expository teaching; (2) increasing quality of studen'ts mathematical   problem   solving   ability   by problem   based   learning   better   than   by expository      teaching.      (3)      significant differences between mathematics anxiety and the accomplisment of student's matematical problem  solving  ability  by  problem  based learning  and  by  expository  teaching  (4) significant  differences  between  decreasing mathematics   anxiety   and   increasing   of student's    mathematical    problem    solving ability  by  problem  based  learning  and  by expository   teaching.    and    (5)   there   is significan relationship between mathematics anxiety and the accomplishment of student's mathematical problem solving ability.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan : (1) peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas VIII B SMP Negeri 5 Singaraja, dan (2) tanggapan siswa kelas VIII B SMP Negeri 5 Singaraja terhadap pembelajaran matematika melalui penerapan model pembelajaran CORE berbantuan Graphic Organizer. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII B SMP Negeri 5 Singaraja pada semester genap Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018 sebanyak 30 orang. Data kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa dikumpulkan menggunakan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika dan tanggapan siswa dikumpulkan menggunakan angket. Selanjutnya, data yang telah terkumpul dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas VIII B SMP Negeri 5 Singaraja meningkat dari siklus I, siklus II, hingga siklus III, yaitu 59,29 pada siklus I, 74,55 pada siklus II, dan 78,89 pada siklus III, ketuntasan belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I, siklus II, hingga siklus III, yaitu 26,67% pada siklus I, 63,33% pada siklus II, dan 80 % pada siklus III. Peningkatan optimal kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa pada siklus III terjadi karena guru lebih menekankan pada: 1) pertanyaan-pertanyaan pancingan dalam mengidentifikasi permasalahan, 2) menyelesaikan rencana penyelesaian sesuai strategi yang telah disusun dengan benar, 3) pemberian bimbingan dan motivasi kepada siswa, serta 4) pemberian masalah yang dapat memberikan pengalaman belajar lebih  banyak. Selain itu, tanggapan siswa terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran CORE berbantuan graphic organizer tergolong sangat positif dengan skor rata-rata tanggapan siswa 49,03. Kata kunci: model pembelajaran CORE, graphic organizer, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika, tanggapanAbstractThis study was aimed to describe: (1) the improvement of students’ mathematical problem solving ability in class VIII B SMP Negeri 5 Singaraja through the application of CORE assisted graphic organizer, and (2) the response of students in class VIII B SMP Negeri 5 Singaraja toward mathematics learning through the implementation of CORE assisted graphic organizer. The type of this research was classroom action research conducted in three cycles. The subjects of research were students in class VIII B SMP Negeri 5 Singaraja on the second semester of academic year 2017/2018 consisted of 30 students. Data of students’ mathematical problem solving ability were collected using mathematical problem solving ability test and students’ response were collected using questionnaire. Furthermore, the collected data were analyzed descriptively. The result showed their score was slightly increased in 1st cycle, 2nd cycle, until 3rd cycle, such as 59,29 on the 1st cycles, 74,55 on the 2nd cycle, and 78,89 on the 3rd cycle. Their achievements also reached high percentage, they were 26,67% on the 1st cycles, 63,33%  on the 2nd cycle, and 80%  on the 3rd cycle. The ultimate score occurred on the 3rd cycle because the teacher focused on : 1) giving stimulated questions in problem identification, 2) executing lesson plan correctly, 3) motivating the students, and 4) giving the case studies for sustainable learning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada materi pokok kubus dan balok dengan model Discovery Learning. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP PGRI Kasihan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan tes. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menelaah seluruh data, baik data kualitatif maupun data kuantitatif dari berbagai sumber yaitu hasil observasi, tes tertulis, dokumentasi, dan catatan lapangan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Discovery Learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas VIII C SMP PGRI Kasihan pada pembelajaran matematika. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh sebagai berikut: (1) pencapaian kategori tinggi dalam penerapan model Discovery Learning, (2) hasil nilai rata-rata tes tiap siklus mengalami peningkatan, dan (3) skor tiap aspek pemecahan masalah pada mata pelajaran matematika mengalami peningkatan. AbstractThis research aims to improve the ability of the mathematical problem solving of students on the subject matter of the cube and the beams with a model of Discovery Learning. This research was conducted at the SMP PGRI Kasihan. Data collection techniques using observation, test, documentation, and records of the Court. The technique of data analysis in this research is to examine all the data, both qualitative data and quantitative data from a variety of sources that the results of observation and test. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the model of Discovery Learning can improve the ability of mathematical problem solving of students of class VIII C for mathematics learning. The research results obtained as follows: (1) the achievement of the high category in implementation model of Discovery learning; (2) the results of the average value of each test cycle has increased; and (3) score each aspect of problem-solving in mathematics has increased.

This research was motivated by the low ability of Mathematical Problem Solving (KPMM) of students. In order to improve KPMM, teachers can do designing the learning process. This study aims to develop mathematical learning tools that are valid, practical and effective. The development model used the Borg and Gall model. The research instrument consisted of syllabus validation sheets, lesson plane (RPP), student worksheet (LKPD), observability of implementation, student questionnaire responses and KPMM test instruments. The result shows the mathematics learning kit using the PBL model was already valid which is for the syllabus was 85.41%, RPP was 85.11%, LKPD was 88.67% and the test instrument was 81.71%. The learning kit fulfills the practicality requirements in large group trials with an average questionnaire of students responses of 91.99% and an average of 94.58%. Effective mathematics learning tools is to improve KPMM of students with student learning outcomes that is based on the achievement of KKM with the percentage of completeness reached is 88.24%. Development of learning tools can significantly improve students mathematical problem solving abilities at a significant level of P = 0,000 with α = 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that the development of mathematics learning tools by applying problem based learning can improve students mathematical problem solving abilities

The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of students' mathematical problem solving and communication skills using problem-based learning better than ordinary learning; to determine the interaction between learning and early mathematical abilities to increase students' mathematical problem solving and communication skills; to find out how the process of answers made by students in solving problems in problem-based learning and ordinary learning. This type of research is quasi-experimental. The population in this study were all grade VII students of SMP Lhokseumawe who were accredited and the samples were randomly selected, namely: SMPN 10 consisted of class VII-4 (experimental class) and class VII-2 (control class), SMPN 11 Lhokseumawe consisted of class VII- 3 (experimental class) and class VII-1 (control class). Data analysis was performed using two-way ANOVA. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in the problem-solving ability and mathematical communication of students using problem-based learning better than students who receive regular learning; there is no interaction between learning and the level of students 'ability to increase students' problem-solving abilities and mathematical communication; the process of solving the problem of students' answers to learning using problem-based learning is better than ordinary learning.
