This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the differences in students' motivation and learning outcomes by comparing the use of the team quiz and TGT cooperative learning models in social studies subjects for class IV at SD Negeri Lakkang. The method used in this study was a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling. The validity tes of the items based on the assessment of experts (expert judgment) and Cronbach Alpha reliability test. The analytical techniques of data used in this study include normality test, homogeneity test, effectiveness test, comparative test of the effectiveness of learning models, and superiority test using SPSS version 25.0 processing. The results showed that the motivation and learning outcomes of students who used the team quiz cooperative learning model were higher than those of students who used the TGT cooperative learning model. This is indicated by the test results after posttest treatment with the Manova test. The data after posttest treatment with the Manova test showed that the significance value was smaller than alfa (0.05), which was 0.001 so that H0 was rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a difference in the average ability between the two classes on learning motivation and student learning outcomes after the treatment was given. Thus, students who use the application of the team quiz cooperative learning model have a higher average posttest score of 85.35 than students who use the application of the TGT cooperative learning model who have an average posttest score of 80.05.

Behavior therapy of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) aims to reduce avoidance, rituals, and discomfort in OCD-relevant situations. The Behavioral Avoidance Test (BAT) measures these behavior-related outcomes in individually challenging OCD-related situations. The association of the BAT with OCD severity measures and its relevance for treatment outcome is, however, still unclear. The current study investigates with a retrospective analysis of a subsample of a pilot study, (1) if reactions on the BAT are related to OCD severity measures in an OCD sample (n = 28), (2) if treatment with two variants of cognitive-behavior therapy (exposure and response prevention vs. metacognitive therapy) changes the BAT scores and (3) if these changes as well as pretreatment BAT avoidance are relevant for OCD treatment outcome as measured by the Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale (Y-BOCS). Participants rated avoidance, ritual, and discomfort in three individually challenging OCD-related situations before and after therapy. For one of these situations, BAT dimensions were rated by the therapist and an independent rater in addition to the patients' ratings. Correlational analyses found significant correlations between BAT discomfort and OCD severity measures like the Y-BOCS. A repeated measures ANOVA with pre- and posttest scores showed that all three BAT dimensions significantly decreased during both treatments. Hierarchical regression analyses (controlling for Y-BOCS pretest scores) revealed that changes in BAT discomfort as well as pretreatment BAT avoidance scores predicted the Y-BOCS posttest score. These findings suggest that the BAT is a distinct measure of behavior-related outcomes partly being relevant for OCD treatment outcome.

Abstract Studying science through hands-on activities within the context of teaching and learning using local environments and resources has been recognized as a fundamental prerequisite of school curriculum in many developing countries, including Thailand. Accordingly, we are interested in implementing such a concept in designing science teaching and learning for middle school students that emphasizes student participation in the provision of materials and equipment for scientific activities. The purposes of this study are to design hands-on activities for eighth grade students on the topic of light reflection using low-cost materials, and then to examine the results after they are implemented. The experimental group consisted of 30 eighth grade students who were chosen at random in one room. The instruments used in the experiment were two types of achievement tests that were administered as pretests and posttests on the topics of light reflection on smooth and curved surfaces. The paired sample t-test was performed after the collection of data to determine students’ conceptual understanding. Our result displays a highly significant difference (p <.01) between the pretest score (39.7%) and posttest score (83.3%), indicating that students actively participated in hands-on activities and learned light reflection knowledge and skills through interaction and discussion with their classmates. We highlight the advantages of our study for science teachers in rural schools in ensuring students develop 21st Century Skills, which is an important part of STEM education.

Mathematics achievement of students in Indonesia is still lower than students in other countries. It is because the creative ability of students is still low. This study aimed to analyze students' creative problem-solving abilities after using realistic math comics videos. This type of research is quantitative research. A quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest comparison design was conducted in this study. The population of this study were all seventh-grade students of SMP, which consisted of four parallel classes. The sample was selected using a random sampling technique so that there were two classes of research samples, namely the control class sample and the experimental class sample. This study used a pretest and posttest instrument for creative problem-solving abilities. In this study, the pretest and posttest score data were normally distributed and homogeneous. Based on the research data analysis using the independent sample t-test, it was concluded that there were differences in the creative problem-solving abilities of students who were taught using real math comics videos with groups of students who were taught not to use fundamental math comics videos. So, it can be concluded that the creative problem-solving abilities of students who are taught using real math comic videos are better than those who are not taught using real math comic videos.
