The Response of Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) to The Types and Application Time of Agroprobiotic Fertilizer. Agroprobiotic fertilizer as an alternative of organic fertilizer is expected to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers.  The aim of the study was to determine:  (1) the best type of agroprobiotic fertilizer; (2) the best application time; (3) interaction between the two factors on the growth and yield of lettuce. The study was conducted from May until July 2018 at  Faculty of Agriculture, Mulawarman University.  The research was 5x2 factorial experiment arranged in Completely Randomized Design with six time replications.  The first factor was the types of agroprobiotic fertilizer, namely: Maknyus; Cimelati; Mayas Putih; Keriting; and Hitam rice. The second factor was the application time of fertilizer, consisted of: in the morning (at 07.00-08.00) and in the afternoon (at 17.00-18.00).  The variables observed consisted of: the increment of plant height and number of leaves increment at 14; 28; 42 days after treatment (DAT); and at harvest time, fresh weight, and leaves area. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance and continued with the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at 5% level. The results showed that the types of agroprobiotic fertilizer and the interaction between the two factors had no significantly different on the growth and yield of lettuce.  Agroprobiotic fertilizer from Mayas Putih rice showed the better growth and yield than others. The best time for application of fertilizer was in the morning, it showed significantly different on the increment of plant height at harvest time.

Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) production is a valuable crop for supporting family farms in the Brazilian semiarid region. The cultivation of this vegetable in a hydroponic system with foliar application of organic fertilizer can help in mitigating the challenges imposed by the region’s edaphoclimatic conditions. Therefore, it is important to increase the lettuce production using new technologies. VIUSID Agro® is an example of such technology that has the potential to increase lettuce yields. VIUSID Agro® is a natural compound that actives molecular processes without affecting the environment adversely. This product acts as a natural bioregulator and is basically composed of amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. The experiment’s objective was to analyze the impact of VIUSID Agro® organic fertilizer on the growth of hydroponic lettuce. The research was conducted on a family farm in Bom Jesus, Paraíba state, Brazil. The experimental was a completely randomized design with 5 VIUSID VIUSID Agro® concentrations (0.0; 0.2; 0.4; 0.6 and 0.8 mL L-1) and 15 replications. Among the indicators evaluated were the plant length, leaf number, stem diameter, root length, and fresh and dry biomass. The results showed that the 0.4 mL L-1 VIUSID Agro® concentration produced greater growth than the control (0.0 mL L-1) for variables analyzed plant length, fresh and dry biomass of aerial portion, root length, fresh and dry biomass of root. The foliar application of VIUSID Agro® improved the performance of the lettuce morphological characteristics in a hydroponic cultivation system. Although this is the first Brazil research evaluating VIUSID Agro® as an organic fertilizer in hydroponic lettuce, results have shown promise.

This study aims to determine the effect of the combination of AB mix nutrients with liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) of tofu liquid waste on the growth and yield of lettuce plants and to obtain the best combination for the growth and yield of lettuce hydroponically. This study used a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD), consisting of a comparison of nutritional treatments, namely: N1 = 100% AB mix + 0% LOF of liquid waste tofu, N2= 75% AB mix + 25% LOF of tofu liquid waste, N3= 50% AB mix + 50% LOF of tofu liquid waste, N4= 25% AB mix + 75 % LOF of tofu liquid waste, N5= 100% LOF of waste liquid tofu which consists of 4 replications. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, leaf width, root length, fresh weight, root volume and weight fit for consumption. The results showed that the administration of 50% AB mix + 50% LOF of tofu liquid waste and 25% AB mix + 75% LOF of tofu liquid waste showed results that tended to be the same but the results of the combination of 75% AB mix + 25% LOF of tofu liquid waste were higher. On the parameters of the number of leaves is 11.12 strands, fresh weight is 66.40 g and suitable weight for consumption is 58.31 g.

Indonesia is a country that has abundant natural resources. One of the natural resource wealth is in the agricultural sector. The agricultural sector has a variety of agricultural commodities found in Indonesia. One of them is horticulture. Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) is a horticultural commodity. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of ab mix and planting media on lettuce (Lactuca sativa L. var New Grand Rapids) in increasing growth and yield after 40 Days After Planting (HST). This research method is an experiment with statistical data collection and analysis techniques. The results of this study are the number of leaves, plant height, and wet weight in the ab mix is higher than aquades (control) because the ab mix provides nutrients for plant growth so that the plant becomes tall and enlarged with its leaves looking wide. However, the number of seeds germinated and plant viability in aquades (control) was higher than ab mix because there was an inorganic salt in ab mix that inhibited seed germination so that the seed membrane in absorbing water became impermeable.

The research aims to determine the growth and production response of two varieties of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) to the provision of various sources of nitrogen. This research was conducted in Lambar village, Tigapanah sub-district, Karo regency, Sumatera Utara Province with altitude of ± 1200 meters above sea level, which started on July to September 2017. This research used a factorial randomized block design with 2 factors namely varieties of lettuce (crop and lettuce) and sources of nitrogen (urea fertilizer, chicken manure and Liquid organic fertilizer of rabbit urine). The parameters observed were plant height, greenish leaves, crop circle, fresh weight of plant per sample and fresh weight of plant per plot. The results showed that both varieties were significantly different in the parameters of plant height, greenish leaves, the number of leaves, and the fresh weight of the plant per sample. Application of nitrogen source showed differences in plant height at 10 weeks after move planting and fresh weight of plant per sample.
