The objects of the given Special Issue of Materials—coordination compounds or complexes, represent a kind of “boundary zone” between two main classes of chemical substances, inorganic and organic, and therefore differ in a significantly greater variety of their structural and physicochemical characteristics in comparison with both inorganic and organic compounds [...]

Development Financing under Constraints, as the author himself puts it, is 'aimed to recapitulate the spirit in which the African Development Bank was founded, describe how it later functioned and why it functioned the way it did'. The study is an excellent attempt to highlight economic cooperation and integ¬ration and to discuss its rationale in view of the given constraints. The main idea behind the establishment of an institution, like the African Develop¬ment Bank (ADB), was necessarily an 'all-African Investment Bank' to promote development projects. The newly independent nations of Africa, lacking as they are in the basic infrastructure, are beset with difficulties in surviving as economically viable units. As such, the need for a pooling of resources and for technical know-how is particularly imperative

Hygienic assessment of five minimum sets of provisions which constitute consumers basket (mean model of nourishment of mean-statistical inhabitant of the Tomsk region of definite social-demographic group) was performed. Number of chemical substances (proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, mineral substances) which constitute provisions structure was calculated. Hygienic assessment was performed by comparing the calculations obtained with the norms of physiologic needs in provisions and energy for several population groups. The given model can be used for calculation of living wage as the model which provides healthy nourishment , meets physiologic needs of the organism in nourishing substances and energy at minimum cost of the provisions.

Homobinuclear metal chelate complexes having 1,4-dihydroxy-9,10-anthracenedione (quinizarin) as a bridging unit have been prepared with four bivalent first row transition elements, namely cobalt, nickel, copper, and zinc. The coordination spheres of the metal ions consist of two nearly equivalent six-membered rings with oxygen donor atoms derived from the quinizarin and the terminal ligands which are either β-diketones or salicylic aldehyde. TG, spectroscopic (ir, uv–vis, epr), and magnetic measurements have been applied to an investigation of the geometry adopted by the MO4 chromophores. The results are consistent with varying degrees of distortion from the ideal square planar toward a tetrahedral arrangement around the metal ions, closely related to the specific metal center involved.

In reference to this special issue, the idea of transformative educational research (TER) brings into light the integrated meanings on ‘the what’, ‘the why’, ‘the how’, ‘the who’, and ‘what next’ of transformative research approach in education, bringing together the ideas shared in the conference, and existing theoretical referents in this area of knowledge/practice. This concept note, thus, primarily seeks to define transformative research approach in education, taking into consideration what an associated research and practitioner agenda might look like. So as to achieve this purpose, this paper frames TRE practices so far, and creates space to think on future directions for education, and educational research through different sub-headings: (1) TER as multidimensional approach, (2) TER as a response to paradigm shift, (3) TRE as arts-based multi-paradigmatic space, (4) TER for emerging leaders at various spheres of life-world, and (5) TER as imagining the world beyond the given.
