AbstractBio-reduction agents are being explored to synthesised nanoparticles to minimize the effects of toxic chemicals. The present study was focused on green approach for the synthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles using aqueous seeds extract of Papaver somniferum. The biosynthesised ZnO NPs (27.8nm) were characterized by using of spectroscopy and microscopy instruments. The surface morphology and the structural analysis confirms the formation of hexagonal nanostructure and a pure zincite nature of ZnO nanoparticles (NPs) respectively. The EDS spectrum confirms pure ZnO NPs were synthesised. From electrochemical properties, the CV indicates both anodic and cathodic sweep are quasi-reversible properties whose intensity increases with the scan rates. The bode plot shows the maximum angles of 74o which is an indication of a higher conductivity of ZnO NPs.

Stable zinc oxide nanoparticles were synthesized by using green approach of nanotechnology. The present investigation aimed to synthesize, stable, cost effective, rapid, eco-friendly approach for the bio-reduction of zinc nitrate hexahydarate to their nano size using phytochemicals present in the root extract of Viola canescens. The synthesized nanoparticles were further characterized by UV-visible, XRD, FTIR, SEM techniques and tested against the Gram-negative and Gram-positive pathogenic cultures of bacteria. The average size of synthesized nanoparticles was less than 11 nm with hexagonal morphology. The clear zone of inhibition against tested bacteria showed their capability as antimicrobial agent.

Zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) are known to be one of the multifunctional inorganic compounds which are widely used in everyday applications. This study aims to fabricate ZnO-NPs using grapefruit (Citrus paradisi) peel extract with particle size ranging from 12 to 72 nm. Structural, morphological, and optical properties of the synthesized nanoparticles have been characterized by using UV-Vis spectrophotometer, TEM, DLS, and FTIR analysis. They show the significant photocatalytic degradation efficiency (>56%, 10 mg/L, 6 h) against methylene blue and antioxidant efficacy (≥80% for 1.2 mM) against 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl. From the results obtained it is suggested that green ZnO-NPs could be used effectively in environmental safety applications and also can address future medical concerns.
