This work focuses on evaluating and establishing the relationship of the influence of geometrical and manufacturing parameters in stiffness of additively manufactured TPU lattice structures. The contribution of this work resides in the creation of a methodology that focuses on characterizing the behavior of elastic lattice structures. Likewise, resides in the possibility of using the statistical treatment of results as a guide to find favorable possibilities within the range of parameters studied and to predict the behavior of the structures. In order to characterize their behavior, different types of specimens were designed and tested by finite element simulation of a compression process using Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools. The tests showed that the stiffness depends on the topology of the cells of the lattice structure. For structures with different cell topologies, it has been possible to obtain an increase in the reaction force against compression from 24.7 N to 397 N for the same manufacturing conditions. It was shown that other parameters with a defined influence on the stiffness of the structure were the temperature and the unit size of the cells, all due to the development of fusion mechanisms and the variation in the volume of material used, respectively.

AbstractThis study aimed to describe changes in step width (SW) during accelerated sprinting, and to clarify the relationship of SW with sprinting performance and ground reaction forces. 17 male athletes performed maximal-effort 60 m sprints. The SW and other spatiotemporal variables, as well as ground reaction impulses, over a 52 m distance were calculated. Average values for each 4 steps during acceleration were calculated to examine relationships among variables in different sections. The SW rapidly decreased up to the 13th step and slightly afterward during accelerated sprinting, showing a bilinear phase profile. The ratio of SW to the stature was significantly correlated with running speed based on average values over the 52 m distance and in the 9th–12th step section during accelerated sprinting. The SW ratio positively correlated with medial, lateral and mediolateral impulses in all step sections, except for medial impulse in the 17th–20th step section. These results indicate the importance of wider SW for better sprinting performance, especially in the 9th–12th step section. Moreover, the wider SW was associated with larger medial impulse and smaller lateral impulse, suggesting that a wide SW contributes to the production of greater mediolateral body velocity during accelerated sprinting.

The relationship of muscle strength symmetry with the symmetry of dynamic activities such as vertical jump (CMJ) and with symmetry of ranges of motion is ambiguous. Therefore, the aim of the current investigation was to assess the relationship between the flexor/extensor strength ratio and the range of motion of the knee joints and VGRF during jump in a sample of young healthy men. The sample consisted of 64 healthy, active men. The flexor and extensor torques and ranges of active and passive mobility of both knee joints were measured. Vertical ground reaction force (VGRF) was measured using two platforms. There were no significant correlations between the symmetry of muscle strength and the symmetry of ranges of motion and the symmetry of the VGRF. Therefore, using the cluster analysis, 4 subgroups were distinguished due to the size of the flexor/extensor ratio (H/Q ratio). Significant differences were found in the level of strength of the knee flexors between the clusters. Detailed analysis of muscle strength symmetry and VGRF symmetry seem to confirm the Leading Joint Hypothesis theory of motion control in multi-joint systems. It was found that the process of controlling movement by the nervous system compensates for the small asymmetries in the level of muscle strength in the knee flexors and extensors, as well as small asymmetries of VGRF.

SMPC (shape memory polymer composites) has many advantages as a hinge of spacedeployable antenna. The structure of the SMPC hinge is designed and tested in this paper. The basicmechanical properties of composites are calculated. Through finite element simulation, the bendingmoment of the positive and reverse of the lamella with the bending angle as the lamella with the fiberdifferent content, the bending of the lamella with different bending distances was simulated, and thecurves of bending moment with bending angle in different bending distances were obtained. Hingebending process simulation shows when the hinge begins to bend, the stress of the inner positivebending lamella is larger. The stress of the outside bending lamella increases with the increase of thebending angle. As for the relationship of moment-angle, the process of unfolding of the hinge isbasically the same as that of the lamellae. However, the hinge bending moment is much greater thanthe single layer lamella bending moment. The hinge with the structure of back-to-back can increasethe structure stiffness and the bending resilience ability. The tested moment of the hinge is similar tothe simulation result.

Inter turn short circuit fault is very common for turbine-generator, which will produce unbalanced electromagnetic force (UEMF) together with its relevant fault, namely dynamic eccentric, on the rotor. After complete finite element simulation by ANSYS, The relationship of rotor winding short positions and short degrees with UEMF were studied. And then, only the dynamic eccentric fault occurs, the relations of dynamic eccentric angles and dynamic eccentric degrees with UEMF were discussed as well. Whats more, by comprehensive consideration of the two faults, the characteristic of the force and its change law were researched. This paper provides a viable path to study the vibration law and fault diagnosis of turbine-generator in multi-source stress.

We develop a phenomenological model for high-T c superconductors. Some main features are emerging in copper oxides: characteristic quasi two-dimensional Cu-O planes, strong correlation of antiferromagnetism, existence of a vortex lattice structure, and observation of a small coherence length and a large penetration depth. These features indicate that the superconductive pair is reasonably constrained to a small volume in real space and may be conceived of as a string-carrying vortex, and therefore can be well simulated by the dual phenomenological local boson fields [Formula: see text] and Φ. The various mean-field ground states of the system are discussed. The field equations of motion are originally solved to get approximate analytical soliton solutions. The effective Hamiltonian is formulated by a variational method for finite temperatures. The model parameter behaviour described by the relationship of the variational parameters is investigated. We discuss the critical temperature T c , the specific heat cV and its jump Δc at T c , and the critical magnetic fields H c1 and H c2 . These results are in agreement with experimental observations, especially the critical behaviours and the zero temperature values. The model also allows interpretation of the variation of T c with oxygen vacancy x and that with doping fraction δ in Cu-O planes, as well as the dependence of γ (defined as the specific heat coefficient of the T-linear term) on δ.

This study proposes deployable units driven by elastic hinges and a double-layer hoop deployable antenna composed of these units. A rational modeling method based on the energy equivalence principle is presented to develop an equivalent model of the double-layer hoop antenna in accordance with the structural characteristics of the antenna. The equivalent beam models of the rods with elastic hinges are proposed. The relationship of geometrical and material parameters is established considering the strain energy and the kinetic energy of the periodic unit, which are the same as those of the equivalent beam in the same displacement field. The equivalent model of the antenna is obtained by assembling several equivalent beam models in the circumferential direction. The precision of the equivalent model of the antenna is acceptable as found by comparing the modal analysis results obtained through equivalent model calculation, finite element simulation, and modal test.
