Electricity retail marketization reform is in progress in China, and many electricity retail companies (ERC) have been founded. The comprehensive evaluation of business risk for ERC can help effectively manage business risk and reduce risk loss, which is vital for its healthy and sustainable development. In this paper, a new hybrid multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) method integrating the Bayesian best-worst method (BBWM) and improved matter-element extension model (IMEEM) is proposed for business risk evaluation for an ERC. The latest group MCDM method, namely the BBWM is employed to determine risk criteria weights, and the IMEEM is used to rank the business risk of ERC. The evaluation index system is built including three aspects of economic operation risk, marketable risk and political risk. The business risk of ERC in China is evaluated by using the proposed MCDM method, and the result shows the current business risk belongs to ‘High’ grade and closer to ‘Very High’ grade more. The proposed MCDM method for business risk evaluation of ERC is effective and practical, which can provide references for risk management and sustainable development of ERC.

Hazardous waste can cause severe environmental pollution if not disposed of properly, which in turn can seriously affect the sustainable development of the entire ecology and will inevitably bring disaster to companies. However, because of limited available disposal capacity, it is often difficult to safely dispose of hazardous waste, meaning that it must be kept as passive inventory. For the passive inventory of hazardous waste, risk evaluation of safe operation of the inventory is crucial and urgently needs to be resolved. Based on this, this paper focuses on the risk management of hazardous waste inventory of waste-producing companies and proposes a risk evaluation system for safely dealing with hazardous waste inventory, which expands the scope of inventory safety management and provides guidance to companies on developing appropriate measures to ensure hazardous waste inventory safety. First, the risk evaluation index system for hazardous waste inventory is constructed from equipment, management level, nature of hazardous waste and operational aspects. Then, the best worst method (BWM) is employed to calculate the criteria weights and the technique for order performance by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) is employed to rank the alternatives. Finally, risk evaluation on four waste-producing companies was conducted using the developed method. The results show that Case Company 4 has the greatest risk of hazardous waste inventory, which should be reduced by improving storage method and the amount of hazardous waste. It was found that the proposed evaluation system was effective for hazardous waste inventory safety risk assessments and that the designed index system could assist companies improve their hazardous waste inventory management.

The Ability of Symbiotic Innovation in Sustainable Technology (ASIST) plays an important role in the sustainable development. It is of great strategic significance for enterprises to evaluate this ability scientifically and rationally. How can we evaluate it in a scientific, rational, standardized and quantitative way? In this paper the author thinks that ASIST is an ability system of multifaceted and multileveled components, such as the abilities of symbiosis with economic, social, natural and scientific & technological resource environment. The evaluation of this ability is a problem of multifactor, multilevel and fuzzy comprehensive decision, so it is reasonable and effective to select and apply the method of Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation (FCE). After constructing an evaluation index system composed of 4 factors and 15 indexes, the author proposes and analyses preliminarily the general models and process to evaluate the ability using FCE. The models include the basic, multilevel and multioperator ones and the process composes of 5 main steps. He further illustrates the general solution of the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation of ASIST with a practical example, in the hope of realizing the evaluation to be scientific, rational, standardized and quantitative.

The implemented performance of enterprise’s patent strategy is an important component to measure its comprehensive benefits. It is of strategic significance for an enterprise to evaluate objectively its implemented performance of patent strategy. From the perspective of sustainable development, according to the 4 aspects of creation, application, protection and management of patent, the essay constitutes preliminarily a comprehensive evaluation index system of the implemented performance of enterprise’s patent strategy which is composed of a set of 21 indexes on the basis of an amount of domestic and foreign literature survey, case study and expert consultation, and analyzes the evaluation model and method of implemented performance of enterprise’s patent strategy with the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation and through a real case. The essay thinks the constitution of evaluation index system should obey a series of basic principles of objectivity, systematization, science and conciseness and the evaluation in essence is multi-object, multi-factor and multi-layer. Therefore, it is effective and feasible to select the Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation method.

This paper adopts the information entropy fuzzy hierarchical analysis model to conduct an in-depth study and analysis of the green investment risk evaluation system and to process and analyze its indicators. The entropy method-fuzzy hierarchical analysis is used to evaluate the green financial capital operation risk. Firstly, I point out the research trends and shortcomings, define the concepts of fund operation, operation risk, risk evaluation, and green finance, and elaborate the relevant basic theories to lay the theoretical foundation for the later research; secondly, I identify the external and internal fund operation risks by describing the development plan, overall operation, and specific operation plan of green finance; then, according to the existing fund operation risks, I integrate commercial banks’ risk. Then, based on the existing fund operation risks, I integrate the risk types of commercial banks, combine the characteristics of green finance business, design the green finance fund operation risk evaluation index system, initially determine the index weights through hierarchical analysis method, introduce the entropy value method to improve the index weights, and use the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to obtain the final evaluation results: in the process of green finance fund operation, internal risk is the most important risk, among which credit risk and financial innovation risk have the most significant impact; external risk is the second most important risk, among which economic risk and political risk are the most important. External risks are the second most important risks, among which economic risks and political risks are more obvious. The risks are judged from single-factor aspects, and the scoring values are used to determine the higher possibility of schedule risks caused by human factors, and finally, the schedule risk level of the reservoir project is determined to be medium through a comprehensive evaluation. The reasonableness of the calculation results shows that the entropy theory and the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method are still applicable to the assessment of green investment risks.

Ultra high voltage (UHV) power transmission construction project is a high-tech power grid construction project which faces many risks and uncertainty. Identifying the risk of UHV power transmission construction project can help mitigate the risk loss and promote the smooth construction. The risk evaluation on “Zhejiang-Fuzhou” UHV power transmission construction project was performed based on analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation (FCE) method in this paper. After the risk evaluation index system was built, the AHP was used to determine the weights of risk indicators, and the FCE method was to perform the risk evaluation. The evaluation result shows that (1) “Zhejiang-Fuzhou” UHV power transmission construction project has moderate risk, which indicates the occurrence probability of project risk is medium and the risk occurrence will cause general loss for project, (2) “society risk” has the highest level, and the next is “policy and law risk,” “technique risk,” “natural environmental risk,” and “Management risk,” respectively, and it should keep main eye on the social risk, policy and law risk, and technique risk. Finally, according to the risk evaluation result, the specific risk control recommendations were proposed for the smooth construction of this project.
