In recent years, with the rapid development of urban transportation network in China, many problems have been exposed, especially in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei (BTH) region. Under the call of sustainable development, it is of great significance to evaluate the economic, social, and ecological (ESE) impact of transportation network in BTH urban agglomeration for promoting the sustainable development of transportation ESE in BTH urban agglomeration. In this paper, 12 indicators in the field of transportation are selected to build the evaluation index system of ESE effects of transportation network in BTH urban agglomeration. By using entropy weight TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) model and the Jenks natural breaks classification method, the ESE impacts of transportation network in 13 cities of BTH from 2013 to 2017 are analyzed from the temporal and spatial dimensions. The research shows that: (1) From 2013 to 2017, the economic impact degree of traffic network shows an annual fluctuation trend, the social impact degree increases year by year, and the ecological impact degree decreases year by year; (2) For the cities of BTH, the ESE impact assessment results of transportation network from 2013 to 2017 can be divided into seven clusters. Except Handan City, the ESE impact assessment categories of other cities’ transportation network have been improved, but the proportion of cities in the transition period is still large, especially the “Low-Low-Low” cities. The types of cities in the transitional period need to be focused. It is still a heavy burden to realize the ESE coordination and sustainable development of BTH urban agglomeration transportation network.

Climate change is becoming a dominant concern for advanced countries. The Paris Agreement sets out a global framework whose implementation relates to all human activities and is commonly guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), which set the scene for sustainable development performance configuring all climate action related policies. Fast control of CO2 emissions necessarily involves cities since they are responsible for 70 percent of greenhouse gas emissions. SDG 11 (Sustainable cities and communities) is clearly involved in the deployment of SDG 13 (Climate Action). European Sustainability policies are financially guided by the European Green Deal for a climate neutral urban environment. In turn, a common framework for urban policy impact assessment must be based on architectural design tools, such as building certification, and common data repositories for standard digital building models. Many Neighbourhood Sustainability Assessment (NSA) tools have been developed but the growing availability of open data repositories for cities, together with big-data sources (provided through Internet of Things repositories), allow accurate neighbourhood simulations, or in other words, digital twins of neighbourhoods. These digital twins are excellent tools for policy impact assessment. After a careful analysis of current scientific literature, this paper provides a generic approach for a simple neighbourhood model developed from building physical parameters which meets relevant assessment requirements, while simultaneously being updated (and tested) against real open data repositories, and how this assessment is related to building certification tools. The proposal is validated by real data on energy consumption and on its application to the Benicalap neighbourhood in Valencia (Spain).

This study analyzes tourism network in urban agglomerated destinations and puts forth implications for future sustainable development through a critical and extensive review of related literature. First of all, with a bibliometric analysis of 2670 selected articles from three research fields of urban tourism, urban agglomeration tourism and tourism destination network, we analyzed their respective research themes and classified them accordingly. Then, the study further investigates the role of tourism network in urban agglomerated destinations by identifying the differences and connections between urban agglomeration tourism and urban tourism. Finally, a basic architecture is established for the study of tourism networks in urban agglomerated destinations context. Study findings highlight that urban agglomeration tourism emphasizes the interconnectivity and social network relationships. However, research on the destination network of urban agglomerations is limited, especially from the tourism development perspectives. Therefore, the evolution process, structural effects, determinants and dynamic mechanisms of the tourism network in urban agglomerated destination are among the opportunities for future research. Moreover, the research architecture shows that the network relationship emerges as a new direction for the study of urban agglomeration system to better integrate and harness destinations’ resources and thereby promote sustainable development in urban agglomerated areas.

Facing the current rapid development of economic and the constantly renewal of urban appearance, this article discusses the ideas about creating a ruins environment in the contemporary urban with the model of “Ecomuseum” from the point of sustainable development. Through the establishment of ecomuseum , the exhibition activities happen from indoor space to outdoor place; the exhibition content organically combine with the humanistic landscape and landmarks, natural environment and community life. This space mode not only focuses on ruins itself, but also tends to comprehensive rehabilitation and utilization about the ruins area environment. This mode play an important role for the Overall protection of the urban sites and continuous inheritance of historical context.

Following strategies of Coastal Open Go West and Reviving Northeastern Old Industrial Base the state put forward the strategy of Rising of Central China in order to promote its rapid development. Urban agglomeration in Central China is becoming academic focus with unprecedented development momentum. It applies multidisciplinary theory of human geography, regional economics, etc. and takes urban agglomeration of Hunan, Henan and Hubei provinces for example to empirical analysis. Firstly, analyzing the historical evolution, urbanization space development and patterns then comes to spatial association of urban and rural through comparison, Finally, showing the development characteristics of urban agglomeration in Central China and putting forward urbanization suggestion.

Rapid industrial development has caused a series of environmental problems, which is not conducive to sustainable development of society as a whole. It is necessary to build a sustainable development evaluation system. Most of the existing literature has evaluated corporate sustainable performance from the economy, environment and society on the basis of triple bottom lines. Considering the research gap and the practice need, an evaluation system is established from four dimensions, referred to as economy, society, environment and responsibility management, and 29 indicators are designed to measure these four dimensions. Twenty seven listed Chinese mining corporations are selected as research samples, and the entropy-weight-based Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method is applied to calculate indicators’ weights. Results show that the four dimensions of sustainable performance weights from high to low are society, environment, economy, and management process.

As the concepts associated with sustainable development mature, and new and modified decision aiding tools are developed, so links between environmental assessment and management tools become all the more essential. Increasingly there is experience of trying to make links between tools, e.g. EIA/SEA and EMS, LCA and SEA, SEA and sustainability appraisal etc. The purpose of this workshop was to exchange experience and to discuss theoretical and practical linkages between tools that can be made and further developed.
