A new approach to sustainable project scheduling for public institutions is proposed. The approach is based on experts’ opinions on three aspects of sustainability of project activities (human resources consumption, material consumption and negative influence on local communities), expressed by means of Z-fuzzy numbers. A fuzzy bicriterial optimization model is proposed, whose objective is to obtain a project schedule of an acceptable sustainability degree and of acceptable duration and cost. The model was inspired and is illustrated by a real-world infrastructure project, implemented in 2019 by a public institution in Poland.

In respect to the multi-attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problems in which the evaluated value of each attribute is in the form of q-rung orthopair fuzzy numbers (q-ROFNs), a new approach of MAGDM is developed. Firstly, a new aggregation operator, called the partitioned Maclaurin symmetric mean (PMSM) operator, is proposed to deal with the situations where the attributes are partitioned into different parts and there are interrelationships among multiple attributes in same part whereas the attributes in different parts are not related. Some desirable properties of PMSM are investigated. Then, in order to aggregate the q-rung orthopair fuzzy information, the PMSM is extended to q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets (q-ROFSs) and two q-rung orthopair fuzzy partitioned Maclaurin symmetric mean (q-ROFPMSM) operators are developed. To eliminate the negative influence of unreasonable evaluation values of attributes on aggregated result, we further propose two q-rung orthopair fuzzy power partitioned Maclaurin symmetric mean (q-ROFPPMSM) operators, which combine the PMSM with the power average (PA) operator within q-ROFSs. Finally, a numerical instance is provided to illustrate the proposed approach and a comparative analysis is conducted to demonstrate the advantage of the proposed approach.

In this article, a fuzzy activity network method is developed for project scheduling under resource constraints. Trapezoidal fuzzy numbers are used for estimating uncertain durations of activities, and then these fuzzy numbers are replaced by suitable crisp durations for project scheduling under resource constraints. In the next step, the critical chain is identified for determining the project duration, and uncertainties associated with activities are addressed by using feeding/project buffers to protect the project schedule from disturbances. For minimizing project duration, the proposed method considers both the suitable crisp durations and the start times of activities as decision variables. Hence, a new procedure based on genetic algorithm and priority heuristics is also developed for efficiently determining these decision variables. Furthermore, the method also considers selecting the best possible relationships between activities to minimize project duration. The proposed method using buffers makes it possible to improve project scheduling under resource constraints.

Prefabricated buildings are the direction of the future development of the construction industry and have received widespread attention. The effective execution of prefabricated construction project scheduling should consider resource constraints and the supply arrangement of prefabricated components. However, the traditional construction resource-constrained project scheduling implementation method cannot simultaneously consider the characteristics of the linkage between component production and on-site assembly construction. It cannot also fully adapt to the scheduling implementation method of the prefabricated construction projects. It is difficult to work out a reasonable project schedule and resource allocation table. In order to determine the relevant schedule parameters that can reflect the actual construction situation of the prefabricated building and meet the scheduling requirements of the prefabricated project, this study proposes a prefabricated construction project scheduling model that considers project resource constraints and prefabricated component supply constraints. Additionally, it improves the design of traditional genetic algorithms (GAs). Research results of the experimental calculation and engineering application show that the proposed project scheduling optimization model and GA are effective and practical, which can help project managers in effectively formulating prefabricated construction project scheduling plans, reasonably allocating resources, reducing completion time, and improving project performance.

Construction projects are planned in a complex and dynamic environment characterized by high risks and uncertainties amidst resource constraints. Assessing construction schedule risk facilitates informed decision-making, especially in a resource-constrained situation, and allows proactive actions to be taken so that project objectives are not jeopardized. This study presents a stochastic multiskilled resource scheduling (SMSRS) model for resource-constrained project scheduling problems (RCSPSP) considering the impact of risk and uncertainty on activity durations. The SMSRS model was developed by integrating a schedule risk analysis (SRA) model (developed in MS Excel) with an existing multiskilled resource scheduling (MSRS) algorithm for the development of a feasible and realistic schedule. The computational experiment carried out on three case projects using the proposed SMSRS model revealed an average percentage deviation of 10.50%, indicating the inherent risk and uncertainty in activity durations of the project schedule. The core contribution of the proposed SMSRS model is that it: (1) presents project practitioners with a simple tool for assessing the risks and uncertainty associated with resource-constrained project schedules so that necessary response actions can be taken to ensure project success; (2) provides the small-scale construction businesses with an affordable tool for evaluating schedule risk and developing a feasible and realistic project schedule.

The purpose of this study is to present a new approach for fuzzy control charts. The procedure is based on the fundamentals of Shewhart control charts and the fuzzy theory. The proposed approach is developed in such a way that the approach can be applied in a wide variety of processes. The main characteristics of the proposed approach are: The type of the fuzzy control charts are not restricted for variables or attributes, and the approach can be easily modified for different processes and types of fuzzy numbers with the evaluation or judgment of decision maker(s). With the aim of presenting the approach procedure in details, the approach is designed for fuzzy c quality control chart and an example of the chart is explained. Moreover, the performance of the fuzzy c chart is investigated and compared with the Shewhart c chart. The results of simulations show that the proposed approach has better performance and can detect the process shifts efficiently.

As the main train service provider company in Indonesia, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI) has many customers who need information. In order to maintain customer loyalty, PT KAI must respond quickly and be adaptive to technology to provide the best service to customers. Limited human resources make PT KAI unable to serve customers simultaneously, so customers often have to wait for a response. In order to provide the best service, automatic messages are needed in order to help customer service performance respond quickly and at the same time with no cost, access anytime and anywhere. This study proposes a new approach with chatbots as a medium for conveying automatic information quickly and simultaneously. This chatbot is made with a computational language that focuses on natural language modeling and cosine similarity as a method for calculating the proximity of inputs and databases. This research can help PT KAI's customer service workers to answer customer needs automatically.

The purpose of this chapter is to introduce a new approach for an assessment of the credit risks. The initial part of the chapter is to briefly discuss the existing models of assessment of the credit risks and justify the need for a new approach. Since a new approach is created for conditions of uncertainty, we cannot do without fuzzy mathematics. The proposed approach is based on group decision-making, where experts’ opinions are expressed by trapezoidal fuzzy numbers. The theoretical basis of the offered approach is laid out in the metric space of trapezoidal fuzzy numbers. The new approach is introduced and discussed, and two realization algorithms are given. The toy example of application of the introduced approach is offered as well.

The increasing use of contract labor has triggered job insecurity resulting in a decline in organizational commitment. It is a challenge for the management of human resources to keep the committed employees by providing good treatments, for example, by giving a sense of justice of the organization. The study aims to analyze whether organizational justice moderates the negative influence of job insecurity on organizational employee commitment. The study involves 30 students of regular2; the data are obtained by filling in a self-rating questionnaire. The data are analyzed by using hierarchical regression model  by using SPSS. The results show that job insecurity affects negatively and significantly on organizational employee commitment, while organizational justice affects positively and significantly on organizational employee commitment. Organizational justice has not been proven to moderate the influence of job insecurity on organizational employee commitment.   Keywords: moderation, negative influences, organisasional commitment, insecurity

Project scheduling is the next step once project planning is completed. This requires knowledge and the depth of the activities, the dependencies between activities and, duration of the activities. Creating and designing a realistic project schedule is the biggest challenges a project manager faces. There are some common problems that can be impact towards project delay or performance: Assigning Resource or Resource Constraint, Managing the Unknown or Managing Change and Estimating Task Duration. These 3 factors and causes are contributing to project scheduling problem. The impact of resource constraint causes towards be impact towards project delay or performance.  To achieve this goal, the survey has been conducted. Finally, the results of the surveys are presented in order to see which commons problems are the most happening and really effected project scheduling.
