Objective - In this article, the CSR is discussed as a means of building innovation for achieving organizational performance. Methodology/Technique - The Maqasid model will be used in this paper as a dimension of Islamic banking in addition to employee performance. The literature review used in this study focus on collecting articles/journals which are then synthesized so as to locate a comparison of substance that is related to this study. The idea is to clarify the relationship between CSR, innovation and performance. Findings – This article identifies that innovation acts as a mediation between CSR and performance. Novelty - The outcome of this article is expected to contribute to the development of human resources through CSR activities and innovation in Islamic banking services in Aceh and the application of the Maqasid Al Syariah and non-financial performance in measuring the performance of Islamic banking in Aceh. This study examines the growth and development phases as well as prospects of Islamic banking in Pakistan. The role of Islamic banking is explained with special regards to corporate social responsibility (CSR) as now days this concept is growing vastly. Awareness in public also has been growing and people are moving towards Islamic banking system. As we live in a Muslim country so it is very essential to have some basic knowledge about the Islamic banking. In this paper growth and performance of Islamic banking is discussed and compared among the financial years from 2003 to 2010 in terms of growth parameters like assets, deposits, sources and uses of funds. The performance indicators are also discussed to evaluate the growth and performance of Islamic banking system. In the last eight years, Islamic banking paved with the rapid market share of banking services. Moreover the efforts made by the central bank in Pakistan (SBP) are also remarkable in growth of Islamic banking. By seeing the present growth of Islamic banking, it is anticipated that in near future, Islamic banking with get major share in banking industry in Pakistan.

Objective - The role of knowledge management and competencies related to marketing skills are essential for Indian and Maldivian businesses, due to the emerging economy and globalization. This study therefore aims to identify the impact of marketing competencies on organizational performance in automobile sales centers, by reviewing the relationship between marketing competencies and firm performance, to support interest and investments in such a concept. Methodology/Technique - 424 respondents (327 Indian samples and 97 Maldivian samples) were randomly selected for the research, with a 71% response rate. The first section of the questionnaire consists of questions related to marketing competencies (32 items) and the second section contains items related to organizational performance (10 items), and the last part includes questions about the respondents' demographical differences. After the data collection, construct validity and reliability statistic tests were conducted to check the validity and reliability of the instrument using IBM SPSS AMOS 23. Findings - The structural equation modelling results for the Indian and the Maldivian samples reveal that marketing competencies have a significant and positive affect on organizational performance. Novelty - This study may be useful for policymakers and top-level managers in the automobile sector; this study provides empirical insights into how the performance of the firm is affected by marketing competencies. PurposeThe aim of this paper is to analyze and measure the effects of intellectual capital (IC), i.e. human capital (HC), relational capital (RC) and structural capital (SC), on healthcare industry organizational performance and understanding the role of data analytics and big data (BD) in healthcare value creation (Wang et al., 2018). Through the assessment of determined variables specific for each component of IC, the paper identifies the guidelines and suggests propositions for a more efficient response in terms of services provided to citizens and, specifically, patients, as well as predicting effective strategies to improve the care management efficiency in terms of cost reduction.Design/methodology/approachThe study has a twofold approach: in the first part, the authors operated a systematic review of the academic literature aiming to enquire the relationship between IC, big data analytics (BDA) and healthcare system, which were also the descriptors employed. In the second part, the authors built an econometric model analyzed through panel data analysis, studying the relationship between IC, namely human, relational and structural capital indicators, and the performance of healthcare system in terms of performance. The study has been conducted on a sample of 28 European countries, notwithstanding the belonging to specific international or supranational bodies, between 2011 and 2016.FindingsThe paper proposes a data-driven model that presents new approach to IC assessment, extendable to other economic sectors beyond healthcare. It shows the existence of a positive impact (turning into a mathematical inverse relationship) of the human, relational and structural capital on the performance indicator, while the physical assets (i.e. the available beds in hospitals on total population) positively mediates the relationship, turning into a negative impact of non-IC related inputs on healthcare performance. The result is relevant in terms of managerial implications, enhancing the opportunity to highlight the crucial role of IC in the healthcare sector.Research limitations/implicationsThe relationship between IC indicators and performance could be employed in other sectors, disseminating new approaches in academic research. Through the establishment of a relationship between IC factors and performance, the authors implemented an approach in which healthcare organizations are active participants in their economic and social value creation. This challenges the views of knowledge sharing deeply held inside organizations by creating “new value” developed through a more collaborative and permeated approach in terms of knowledge spillovers. A limitation is given by a fragmented policymaking process which carries out different results in each country.Practical implicationsThe analysis provides interesting implications on multiple perspectives. The novelty of the study provides interesting implications for managers, practitioners and governmental bodies. A more efficient healthcare system could provide better results in terms of cost minimization and reduction of hospitalization period. Moreover, dissemination of new scientific knowledge and drivers of specialization enhances best practices sharing in the healthcare sector. On the other hand, an improvement in preventive medicine practices could help in reducing the overload of demand for curative treatments, on the perspective of sharply decreasing the avoidable deaths rate and improving societal standards.Originality/valueThe authors provide a new holistic framework on the relationship between IC, BDA and organizational performance in healthcare organizations through a systematic review approach and an empirical panel analysis at a multinational level, which is quite a novelty regarding the healthcare. There is little research focussed on healthcare industries' organizational performance, and, specifically, most of the research on IC in healthcare delivered results in terms of theoretical contribution and qualitative analyzes. The authors even contributed to analyze the healthcare industry in the light of the possible existence of synergies and networks among countries.

Objective - The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between compensation and work environment on performance through job satisfaction. Methodology/Technique - The population in this study is 150 employees from a State-Owned Bank. The sampling method uses census techniques so that the number of samples used is 150 employees. The research data was collected using a questionnaire, which is then analyzed using a path analysis technique (SPSS software) to examine the relationships among the constructs, which are: compensation, work environment, job satisfaction and performance. Findings –The results of this study indicate that compensation has a significant relationship between job satisfaction, and the work environment has a significant relationship on job satisfaction. The results also prove that compensation has no relationship on performance, work environment has a significant relationship on performance, and job satisfaction has a significant relationship on performance. The results of this study also indicate that as an indirect effect, compensation has a significant relationship on performance through job satisfaction and the work environment has a significant relationship on performance through job satisfaction. Novelty - Previous studies have been carried out in many western countries, raising doubts about generalizations in the same research results in developing countries such as Indonesia. Therefore, the novelty in this study is carried out in the context of developing countries, especially in State-Owned Banks in West Kalimantan, Indonesia. Type of Paper: Empirical. So far, the culture of civil servants is still at issue especially supported by personalities that are in the public spotlight in providing services to the community. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of a person's personality through Big Culture, Organizational Culture Overview and Balitbangda Employee Performance in Jambi Province and determine the relationship of influence between big five personality and organizational culture on employee performance both simultaneously and partially and to test organizational culture as a moderating variable on the influence Big five personality on performance. This study uses survey research techniques, census sampling techniques that are all Balitbangda employees as samples and data analysis is done descriptively and perivikatip. Descriptively describe the variables studied from the variables without testing. Perivikatip examine the relationship of influence between the independent variable and the dependent variable. The results of data processing indicate that descriptively Big Five Personality, organizational culture and performance are in the quite good category. The perivikatip test shows that there is a significant significant influence on the Big Five Personality of organizational culture and has a positive relationship. Organizational culture has a positive and significant influence on organizational performance, Big Five Personality has a positive and significant influence on performance. There is a significant mediating effect of the interaction of the Big Five Personality and Organizational Culture on the influence of the Big Five          Personality on the Performance of Balitbangda Jambi Province Employees

Many studies have focused on direct link between HRM practices and organizational performance. There is a strong relationship between these two variables that driven further research to identify the mechanism through which such relationship exists. Following resource-based view (RBV), the aim of this research was to investigate the indirect effect of organizational innovation on HRM practices-performance linkage. Data was collected from owners/managers of manufacturing SMEs in West Malaysia. 331 (60.5%) distributed questionnaires were received and analyzed through PLS-SEM. Out of six hypotheses on mediation, only one hypothesis was rejected. The findings strongly supported the RBV theory when organizational innovation significantly mediated the relationship. These results clearly indicate that organizational innovation plays an intermediate role between HRM practices (i.e. communication and information sharing, compensation, selection, performance appraisal, and training and development) and organizational performance of SMEs.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of transformational leadership on employee performance and to analyze the mediating role of work commitment. This research is a type of quantitative research, using a questionnaire arranged with a 5 point Likert scale. The research variables consisted of transformational leadership as an exogenous variable, employee performance as an endogenous variable, and work commitment while the mediating variable. The research sample was 80 employees of PT. Kalbe Farma, Tbk. The data analysis technique uses path analysis. The results showed that transformational leadership has a direct effect on employee performance. Other findings indicate that work commitment acts as a partial mediator of the relationship between transformational leadership and employee performance. Future research can develop research by including the role of organizational culture as a factor influencing commitment and performance.

Emotional intelligence may affect organizational performance, and the aim of our research was to examine whether this statement can be proven in the case of financially successful organizations or not. Information about leaders has been derived from online surveys with Genos EI and also from interviews, and we gathered data about organizational success from the national TAX system. Leaders usually determine group and organizational effectiveness, so we analyzed data from 22 leaders working in successful Hungarian companies. According to our results, some emotional competencies correlate with performance. In this case self-awareness, awareness of others and self-management seemed to affect organizational performance. In our regression analysis, self-awareness seemed to be a predictor variable of performance. The relationship between emotional intelligence and performance should be examined further by expanding on the analysis of other performance indicators and leadership styles.

Objective - This study aims to investigate the extent to which transformational leadership could enhance financial and social performance of village-owned enterprises through organizational capabilities. Methodology/Technique – This study conducted a survey involving village-owned enterprises in Siak Regency, Indonesia. 121 questionnaires were distributed directly to the directors of village-owned enterprises and 89 completed and usable responses were received. Data was analyzed using WarpPLS 5.0 to determine that transformational leadership, directly and indirectly through organizational capabilities can enhance financial and social performance of village-owned enterprises. Finding - This study demonstrates that transformational leadership has a positive direct effect on organizational performance. Transformational leadership also has a positive effect on organizational performance through organizational capabilities. This study proves that organizational capabilities act as a partial mediator on the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational performance. Novelty - The results of this study demonstrate that transformational leaders are important in improving the performance of village owned enterprises. Therefore, this study suggests that village consultative bodies need to consider the behavioural characteristics of transformational leadership in recruiting village-owned enterprise directors.
