This study aims to examine the use of multimedia in teaching and learning (PdP) Sulalatus Salatin in form six. The objective of this study is to identify the use of multimedia in PdP Sulalatus Salatin in terms of types, tools used, teacher skills, and curriculum needs. The second objective is to study students 'attitudes towards the use of multimedia in Sulalatus Salatin learning and the third to analyze the relationship between multimedia use in PdPc with students' understanding of Sulalatus Salatin text using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The researcher distributed a set of questionnaire questions containing 36 questions that were closed to 30 forms six students at a school in the district of Kuala Kangsar, Perak. The findings show that the main reason for the use of multimedia in PdP Sulalatus Salatin in terms of multimedia type, tools used, teacher skills, and curriculum needs is because the use of LCD screen causes the text to appear larger and clearer with a mean score of 4.433 (sd = 0.8976). For the second objective, the two most dominant student attitudes with a mean score of 4,400 that is with the use of multimedia, writing in the text of Sulalatus Salatin is clearer and easier to read (sd = 0.7701), while students are actively involved during the teaching of Sulalatus Salatin text (sd = 0.8944). Next, for the third objective, the relationship between the use of multimedia with the highest level of students' understanding of Sulalatus Salatin text is that students are easier to read and understand the synopsis on Sulalatus Salatin text with a mean score of 4,600 (sd = 0.6215). In conclusion, this study was implemented to provide exposure to the advantages of multimedia used by teachers while teaching Sulalatus Salatin text in form six.

PurposeThe purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between factors in the extended technology acceptance model (TAM) model and teachers' self-efficacy in remote teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the authors sought to listen to classroom teachers as they expressed their unbiased views of the advantages, disadvantages and challenges of teaching remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic.Design/methodology/approachA survey was employed to examine the relationship between factors in the extended TAM model and teachers' self-efficacy in remote teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic using the 49-item questionnaire. A multiple regression analysis using a stepwise procedure was used to examine the relationship between factors in the extended TAM model and teachers' self-efficacy. Three open-ended questions closely examined remote teaching during the pandemic, related to challenges, advantages and disadvantages.FindingsQualitative findings challenges included Internet connection, lack of interaction and communication and challenges with motivation and student engagement. Disadvantages included teachers’ level of self-efficacy in using technology to teach, lack of support and resources to teach online and the struggle to motivate and engage students. Perceived benefits included flexibility for the teacher and differentiation, rich resources and a way to support learners when in-person instruction is not possible.Research limitations/implicationsThe data suggest that instead, during COVID-19, many teachers were learning about the platforms simultaneously as they were instructing students.Practical implicationsTo ensure quality remote instruction and that students receive the support to make instruction equitable, teachers need to perceive that their instructional technology needs are met to focus on teaching, learning and needs of their students.Social implicationsTeachers need opportunities to explore the platforms and to experience success in this environment before they are exposed to the high stakes of preparing students to meet K-12 standards.Originality/valueInstructional delivery has not explored teacher motivational and instructional teaching self-efficacy related to satisfaction with the learning management system (LMS).

Over the recent years, online communication and collaboration applications have been extensively used in teaching, learning, and research. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the attitudes and perceptions of higher education students concerning these applications and their use in learning activities. The research was conducted on 748 Romanian students. The findings have revealed that social networks represent the main category of communication and collaboration applications used for learning purposes. Additionally, gender-induced differences have been found, as well as variances among undergraduates and graduates by several dimensions of the unified technology acceptance model, while students' learning engagement proved to mediate the relationship between personality traits, technology self-efficacy, and the use of collaboration tools. The paper also offers a comparative analysis between the students' and the academics' responses to the use of online communication and collaboration applications in the same cultural and organizational context. Practical implications are also presented.

E-Learning is an Important tool for delivery, interaction, and facilitation of both teaching and learning processes in higher education. The purpose of this paper is the investigation of students attitudes about the use of ICT and integration of e-learning at the University of Tetovo. This study also examines the factors contributing to students attitudes towards E-Learning as well as identifying the important factors to its successful integration. The conceptual research framework of e-learning integration, which is used in the analysis, is based on the technology acceptance model (TAM). The research developed an extended TAM model (Technology Acceptance Model for E-learning) for predicting the intention to integrate E-Learning using the constructs of the TAM. Statistical analysis was conducted to assess student attitudes towards integrationof e-learning, and to analyses the relationships between their attitudes and their demographic characteristics, Perception about ICT,ICT experience and ICT Competence that predict the integration of e-learning. Questionnaire was used to collect data from a sample of 314 undergraduate students from different program studies. Statistical techniques are used for the analyses of data. Factor analysis was used to validate the instrument, however; the partial least square method was used to test the model for the study, moreover; stepwise regression analysis were used to test the hypotheses of the study. The findings indicate that students have an important role in prediction of the integration of E-Learning in University of Tetovo. The reported findings might be of interest to institution, academics administrators, and decision-makers involved in planning, developing and implementation of e-learning in University of Tetovo and similar universities in developing countries.

This study applied the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in investigating teachers and students’ perceptions towards integrating the D2L system to enhance EFL teaching and learning processes at the English language department, Majmaah University. Two close-ended questionnaires were designed to measure the participants’ perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitudes, and intentions to use D2L. To understand participants’ perceptions and the obstacles that may hinder their use of D2L, an interview with open-ended questions were conducted. Data from the questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS. Qualitative analysis of the interview data showed the frequencies and proportions of participants’ responses. The findings indicated that the D2L system is totally accepted by teachers and students. Few problems along with their suggested solutions were grouped, presented and discussed.

Cash settlement accounts for 80% of entire transaction in Japan. Japanese government has announced the “Payment Reform Declaration,” by setting “the Cashless Vision” with a target of 40% cashless payment ratio by 2025 and aims to achieve the world's highest level of cashless payment ratio of 80% in the future. The purpose of this study is to analyze which media has affected the consumers who use QR code payment, PayPay. This research proposes a framework based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) for an effective advertisement medium by using survey data on PayPay. Structure equation analysis is conducted to measure the relationship between different advertising media and consumers’ intentions to use, as well as actual usage of PayPay.

Indonesian Eastern Fleet Training Command currently has the facilities to train professional soldiers in the shooting.A simulator facility in the form of computer-based clinic shooting is called Virtual Arms Solution FTS D-423 (VAS).Need to analyse the relationship between perceived ease of use and usefulness of VAS in order to determine thelevel of acceptance. Both these factors are modelled by the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) which canexplain the factors that influence the actual receipt of the use of technology. After that, the relationship between thetwo factors that have been modelled with the Technology Acceptance Model to be treated using Path Analysis(Path Analysis). Where the path analysis was used to analyse the causal relationships between variables in order todetermine the effect of the direct and indirect causes of the variable to a variable result. Based on the analysis anddiscussion, it is obtained as follows that the ease and usefulness of a positive effect on Attitude using VAS positiveeffect on Behavioural Intention using VAS. Behavioural intentions affect the Actual Usage.Keywords: Virtual Arms Solution, Technology Acceptance Model, Path Analysis.

Educators, and business, and political leaders are increasingly recognizing that computing is a new basic skill necessary for economic opportunity and social mobility U.S. President Obama has announced a new initiative, “Computer Science For All” to empower a generation of American students with the computer science skills they need to thrive in a digital economy (2016). Employers seek technical computer specialists who can write software and invent new applications, but American universities are only training enough students to fill about 40% of the projected 1.1 million technology and computing jobs expected by 2024 (National Center for Women and Information Technology, 2016). Moreover, a lack of gender parity within the U.S. technology industry has long been viewed as a critical problem, detracting from innovation and prosperity. Pursuit of information technology (IT) majors depends, to a great extent, on students' attitudes toward IT. This study developed an Attitude toward IT Scale with a gender subtext to measure certain attitudes toward IT, held by college students. The norm group consisted of mostly freshmen enrolled in 2011 (N = 373), at a large four-year public university in Illinois. Reliability and validity of the 30-item Scale were examined by using Cronbach's alpha and a principal components factor analysis with orthogonal rotation using varimax with Kaiser normalization; the rotation converged in seven iterations. Results of data analyses showed that overall reliability is high (0.85), and factor analyses revealed five orthogonal factors with high coefficient alphas—factors that represented relevant attitude constructs. This Scale may be used by educators at the senior high school and college levels to evaluate the effectiveness of different teaching/learning strategies in promoting positive student attitudes toward IT, and in improving learning among students. The Scale is unique in that it includes attitudes toward gender equality of opportunity in IT.

This chapter examines the influence of some relevant factors on the acceptance of internet and E-Business technologies in Maritime Canada’s SMEs (small- and medium- sized enterprises). To examine the influence of the factors, a research framework was developed and nine hypotheses formulated to test the various relationships. A survey was conducted and a total of 162 valid responses were obtained from mainly business owners and managers. The data supported five out of the nine hypotheses formulated. The key findings are as follows: The sampled SME’s organizational readiness is positively related to their intent to use Internet/business technologies (dependant variable); the two constructs of the technology acceptance model (TAM) were found to be important mediators in the relationship between the management support construct and the dependant variable. Further, no evidence was found to suggest that management support positively influences the intent to use Internet/ business technologies among Maritime Canada’s SMEs. The implications of the study’s findings for policy making and research were discussed.

The purpose of this chapter is to examine the factors that influence small and medium-sized enterprises' (SMEs) intentions to use the investment account platform (IAP) based on technology acceptance model (TAM). The central hypothesis for this chapter was that SMEs' intentions to use IAP were a result of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. This chapter also suggested that perceived ease of use and intention was mediated by perceived usefulness of the IAP. Using primary data collection method, 163 questionnaires were collected from SMEs in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia using the purposive sampling technique. The data were analysed using SPSS and SmartPLS. The chapter found that perceived ease of use had significant influences on SMEs intention to use the IAP while perceived ease of use significantly affected perceived usefulness and the relationship between perceived ease of use and intention was mediated by perceived usefulness of the IAP. The results of this chapter suggested strategies to promote the platform as a fund seeking platform for SMEs.
