Construction growth for the residential property in gated community Manado had reached its highest growth of 7,68% in Q2 2014. Increasing purchase intention of the house buyers resulted huge increase in the residential housing price in gated community. Since the gated community started to become a trend as a preferred choice for people to stay in, therefore, this study seeks to discover the reason for people to purchase residential properties.

The concept of gated community housing is a feature of contemporary housing development. Housing developers promote this concept through an emphasis on security in gated housing. House owners today favour fenced-in residences, not only for their homes, but also for the entire housing development, including recreational areas and other facilities. The aim of this study is to prioritize the elements of physical security in a gated community housing development. The methodology employed a quantitative approach using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) in ascertaining the weightage for each element deemed important in the planning of secure gated community housing, with focus on the elements of access, fencing, CCTV installation, lighting, guardhouse and landscape, which are the principal elements that serve to enforce security in the protected community. The results of this study showed that two principal elements, namely access to the property (entry/exit points) and protective fencing, were deemed the most important in providing security in gated community housing. Accordingly, these aspects should be accorded particular attention in the planning of gated communities in the future and be factored into the strategy to enhance security.Gated community housing and guarded neighbourhoods employing such a strategy would be quite effective in providing security to residents.

This study estimates the contribution of both urban-rural fringe location and lake proximity on residential property values in three upstate counties of South Carolina through estimation of spatial hedonic housing price models. Location in the urban fringe and the urban–rural interface are found to have a positive impact on residential housing values relative to either urban or more rural locations. Lakes in the upstate contribute positively to housing values to the extent that the house has a view of a lake, lake access, or lake frontage.

Wheat flour consumption in Indonesia continues to increase, so the government must import wheat on a large scale. One of the ways to reduce wheat consumption is by using substitutes. Mocaf (modified cassava flour) is a kind of flour that derived from cassava plants (Manihot esculenta). This flour can be used as a substitute for wheat flour due to its similar characteristics. Even though it has high economic potential, mocaf has only been marketed locally. One of the reason is the lack of quality packaging. The purpose of this study is to identify consumer preferences for mocaf packaging so that they can market the product not only locally but also nationally. In this study, AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) method with four alternatives (plastic stand up pouch combination, Aluminium foil stand up pouch combination, screen printing plastic pouch, and paper pouch combination) and three criteria (price, model, and durability) is used to determine consumer preferences for mocaf packaging. This research obtained the conclusion that the highest weight for criterion and alternative are price and the screen printing plastic pouch.

Chocolate is a product made from cocoa (Theobroma cacao) beans and fat which is very popular because of its taste and nutrition. Dark chocolate has health benefits because of it’s contains antioxidants in the form of phenols and flavonoids. In previous study, the addition of β-carotene extract from S. platensis with a dose of 0.372% to dark chocolate products was aimed to fulfilling energy intake and vitamin A needs. Thus, it’s important to know the consumer pReferences for dark chocolate products fortified with S. platensis. This study aimed to determine the priority weight of the attributes for consumers and measure consumer pReferences for dark chocolate products fortified with S. platensis. This study used the Analytical Hierarchy Process method. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents unskilled who representing the population level in Yogyakarta, using purposive random sampling. The results showed that the priority attributes of consumer in choosing dark chocolate products fortified with S. platensis are taste, sub-attribute of bitter taste (47.8%), price, sub-attribute of low price (53.3%), product benefits, subattribute of nutritional benefit (38.2%), flavor, sub-attribute of sweet flavor (64.2%), texture, sub-attribute of smooth texture (57.7%), aroma, sub-attribute of typical chocolate aroma (72.8%), and packaging, sub-attribute of packaging 2 (Lindt packaging) (25.8%). Meanwhile, the choice of dark chocolate products according to the consumer pReferences is dark chocolate product fortified with S. platensis with priority weight of 55.8%.

Usaha Kecil Menengah (UKM) adalah salah satu penggerak perekonomian suatu daerah, termasuk Kota Sorong. UKM di Kota Sorong belum berkembang secara optimal. Ada beberapa penyebab diantaranya adalah mengenai finansial, lokasi, bahan baku dan lain-lain. Untuk menyelesaikan permasalah tersebut peneliti terdorong untuk melakukan pengembangan Aplikasi yang dapat membantu menentukan prioritas UKM yang sesuai dengan kondisi pelaku usaha. Pada penelitian ini akan digunakan metode Analitycal Hierarchy Process (AHP), untuk pengambilan keputusannya. Metode AHP dipilih karena mampu menyeleksi dan menentukan alternatif terbaik dari sejumlah alternatif yang tersedia. Dalam hal ini alternatif yang dimaksudkan yaitu UKM terbaik yang dapat dipilih oleh pelaku usaha sesuai dengan kriteria yang telah ditentukan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mencari nilai bobot untuk setiap atribut, kemudian dilakukan proses perankingan yang akan menentukan alternatif yang optimal, yaitu UKM. Aplikasi Sistem Pendukung Keputusan yang dikembangkan berbasis Android, dimana pengguna akan mudah menggunakannya sewaktu-waktu jika terjadi perubahan bobot pada kriteria atau intensitas.  Hasil akhir menunjukkan bahwa metode AHP berhasil diterapkan pada Aplikasi Penentuan Prioritas Pengembangan UKM.

The fire incident in karaoke buildings in Indonesia which claimed many lives has occurred several times. According to the National Academy of Science US, the smoke toxins that come out of the fire disaster cause 50-80% of deaths. Refers to the data, it is necessary to check further about the building material response to fire during a fire incident. Masterpiece Signature Karaoke is a karaoke building that classified as large and magnificent in the city of Medan which has various material so that it is necessary to study the interior material as passive fire protection. The purpose is to find out how to assess the reliability of fire passive protection regard to the interior materials and recommendations or descriptions of right interior material planning using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). This method is efficacious to solve the problem of reliability in using interior materials as passive fire protection in Masterpiece Signature Family KTV Medan building with the results of an Adequate Level of reliability. Then, design recommendations were given for the use of interior materials in karaoke building to improve the reliability results to be better.The results are useful as information for other researchers and karaoke buildings regarding passive fire protection systems at the Masterpiece Signature Family KTV Medan.

Pengkajian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan desain eksploratori dalam penentuan prioritas terhadap peran dan alternatif strategi pengembangan P2MKP didasarkan atas bobot prioritas atau kepentingannya dengan menggunakan metode Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Keterpaduan antara program pelatihan P2MKP dengan penyelenggaraan penyuluhan” merupakan strategi yang paling diprioritaskan dalam membangun sinergitas P2MKP dengan penyelenggaraan penyuluhan perikanan, dengan bobot 31,52%, kemudian strategi “pengikutsertaan koordinator penyuluh daerah sebagai pembina P2MKP”, dengan bobot 28,56% sebagai prioritas kedua, dan strategi “sebagian instruktur berasal dari penyuluh perikanan” dengan bobot 24,17% sebagai strategi prioritas ketiga dalam membangun sinergitas P2MKP dengan penyelenggaraan penyuluhan perikanan. Dari beberapa strategi pengembangan P2MKP yang dapat dilakukan dalam rangka mendukung proses peningkatan kompetensi sumber daya manusia kelautan dan perikanan: Strategi “pengikutsertaan/ peningkatan peran penyuluh perikanan” merupakan strategi pengembangan P2MKP yang paling diprioritaskan, kemudian strategi “optimalisasi penyelenggaraan pelatihan” sebagai prioritas kedua, dan strategi “pembangunan kemitraan strategis” sebagai strategi prioritas ketiga.
