Educational data like students performance is very important to study and analyze and to improve the quality of education. The study concerned to data mining techniques with educational data is known as Educational Data Mining (EDM). This study finds knowledge and interesting patterns in educational organization. Students performance are the subject mainly concerned to find the qualitative model based on student’s personal and social factors then classify and predict the student performance. Proper counseling to underperforming students can reduce dropout ratio and help them to continue their studies.

Data mining offers a new advance to data analysis using techniques based on machine learning, together with the conventional methods collectively known as educational data mining (EDM). Educational Data Mining has turned up as an interesting and useful research area for finding methods to improve quality of education and to identify various patterns in educational settings. It is useful in extracting information of students, teachers, courses, administrators from educational institutes such as schools/ colleges/universities and helps to suggest interesting learning experiences to various stakeholders. This paper focuses on the applications of data mining in the field of education and implementation of three widely used data mining techniques using Rapid Miner on the data collected through a survey.

Educational data mining (EDM) is defined as the area of scientific inquiry centered around the development of methods for making discoveries within the unique kinds of data that come from educational settings , and using those methods to better understand students and the settings which they learn in. Data mining enables organizations to use their current reporting capabilities to uncover and understand hidden patterns in vast databases. As a result of this insight, institutions are able to allocate resources and staff more effectively. In this paper, we present a real-world experiment conducted in Shree Rayeshwar Institute of Engineering and Information Technology (SRIEIT) in Goa, India. Here we found the relevant subjects in an undergraduate syllabus and the strength of their relationship. We have also focused on classification of students into different categories such as good, average, poor depending on their marks scored by them by obtaining a decision tree which will predict the performance of the students and accordingly help the weaker section of students to improve in their academics. We have also found clusters of students for helping in analyzing student  performance and also improvising the subject teaching in that particular subject.

The quality of education is measured by the academic performance of students and the results they produce. Since the student academic performance is the made up of the environmental, psychological, socio-economic and other factors, it is challenging to measure the aca- demic performance of students. Such difficulties can be reduced by investigation of various factors that influence the student perfor- mance. Many researchers have been used different approaches to identifying the variables that help to predict students’ performance. This survey paper examines various data mining methodologies that have been used to analyze and predict students’ performance.

The article proposes to evaluate the conditions of educational activities, which ensure the quality of education, during public accreditation of an educational organization. The approach is based on the use of the mechanism of external independent evaluation, conducted by a public organization, to determine the level of an educational organization in order to promote consistent improvement in the quality of the processes of providing and implementing educational activities. A number of indicators that can be expressed quantitatively are proposed. The work of the educational organization to ensure the quality of education in this case can be evaluated on the basis of the proposed indicators.

The development of learning media model becomes a necessity for improving the quality of education in Indonesia. Following the development of technology and information, new models continue to be developed, one of which is comic. This study aims to develop a model of electronic comic (e-Comic) as a medium of learning. With the ADDIE development method, it is done through needs analysis, model design, prototype development, prototype implementatio (testing) and evaluation of prototype implementation results to the field. The result is a comic electronic model in which graphic-shaped graphics are highlighted to deliver learning materials in accordance with the applicable curriculum. The material is delivered in story form so the delivery is not rigid. Implementation of field trial prorotype obtained data that the user liked the model of this e-Comic learning media and feel like learning to read comics with digital format. The conclusion of the development of e-Comic model, innovative learning media, fun, effective and efficient, so as to increase the students' attention in understanding the subject AbstrakPengembangan model media pembelajaran menjadi kebutuhan untuk peningkatan kualitas pendidikan di Indonesai. Mengikuti perkembangan teknologi dan informasi, model-model baru terus dikembangkan dari waktu ke waktu. Komik yang dimaknai sebagai sebuah gambar kartun berteks mampu menyampaikan sebuah pesan dengan gaya yang ringan dan menyenangkan.Tujuan pembuatan model ini untuk membuat sebuah model berformat elektronik komik (E-komik) sebagai media pembelajaran menyampaikan materi pendidikan. Dengan metode pengembangan ADDIE, yang dimulai dengan kegiatan Analisis Kebutuhan, Desain/Perancangan Model, Development Prototype, Implementasi Prototype berbentuk ujicoba prototype ke user dan dilanjutkan dengan Evaluasi hasil implementasi prototype ke lapangan model Elektronik komik ini dikembangkan. Hasil dari pengembangan ini adalah sebuah model elektronik komik yang didalamnya berupa grafis berbentuk kartun ditonjolkan untuk menyampaikan materi-materi pembelajaran sesuai dengan kurikulum yang berlaku di sekolah. Materi disampaikan dalam bentuk cerita sehingga penyampaiannya tidak kaku. Implementasi ujicoba prorotype dilapangan diperoleh data bahwa user menyukai model media pembelajaran E-komik ini dan merasa belajar seperti membaca komik dengan format digital. Kesimpulan pengembangan model E-komik yang dilakukan menjadi salah satu jawaban atas kebutuhan terhadap media pembelajaran yang inovatif, menyenangkan, efektif dan efisien, sehingga dapat meningkatkan perhatian siswa dalam memahani mata ajar. Untuk itu penerapannya dapat dilakukan secara bertahap pada SMA tertentu.

Mutu pendidikan dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor, salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi mutu pendidikan adalah kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah. Salah satu indikator sebuah pembelajaran yang berkualitas dapat dilihat dari hasil belajar yang diraih siswa. Motivasi belajar dapat mempengaruhi pencapaian prestasi belajar peserta didik. Pemanfaatan media dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas untuk membuat suasana pembelajaran menjadi menyenangkan serta dapat menumbuhkan motivasi belajar peserta didik. Salah satu media pembelajaran yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam meningkatkan motivasi dan prestasi belajar peserta didik adalah media powerpoint berbasis animasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah pemanfaatan media pembelajaran powerpoint berbasis animasi dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan prestasi belajar peserta didik didik pada standar kompetensi membuat dan menjaga kearsipan untuk menjamin integritas. Subjek penelitian ini adalah semua peserta didik kelas X Administrasi Perkantoran berjumlah 34 orang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 1) Pemanfaatan media pembelajaran powerpoint berbasis animasi dapat meningkatan motivasi belajar peserta didik pada standar kompetensi membuat dan menjaga kearsipan untuk menjamin integritas, 2) Pemanfaatan media pembelajaran powerpoint berbasis animasi dapat meningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik pada standar kompetensi membuat dan menjaga kearsipan untuk menjamin integritas. Kata kunci : Media Pembelajaran, Powerpoint, Motivasi Belajar, Prestasi Belajar   Abstract: The Effectiveness Of Learning Media Powerpoint Based Animation In Increasing Motivation And Learning Achievement. The quality of education is affected by many factors, one of the factors that affect the quality of education is the quality of learning at school. One of the indicators of a quality learning can be seen from the results of the study earned students. Learning motivation may affect the achievement of the learning achievements of students. The utilization of the media in the process of learning in the classroom to create an atmosphere of learning into fun learning motivation can grow as well as learners. One of the media learning which can be utilized in improving learning and achievement motivation of learners is a media-based powerpoint animation. This research aims to find out whether the utilization of media learning powerpoint based animation can increase motivation and learning achievements learning educates learners on standards of competence to make and keep the archives to ensure the integrity. The subject of this research is all learners class X Office Administration amounted to 34 people. The results of this study indicate that 1) utilization of instructional media in powerpoint based animation can improve the learning motivation of learners on the standard of competence to make and keep the archives to ensure the integrity of media Utilization, 2) powerpoint animation based learning can improve the learning results of students on the standard of competence to make and keep the archives to ensure integrity. Key word : learning media, powerpoint, motivation of learnier, the learning achievements


Student Performance Management is one of the key pillars of the higher education institutions since it directly impacts the student’s career prospects and college rankings. This paper follows the path of learning analytics and educational data mining by applying machine learning techniques in student data for identifying students who are at the more likely to fail in the university examinations and thus providing needed interventions for improved student performance. The Paper uses data mining approach with 10 fold cross validation to classify students based on predictors which are demographic and social characteristics of the students. This paper compares five popular machine learning algorithms Rep Tree, Jrip, Random Forest, Random Tree, Naive Bayes algorithms based on overall classifier accuracy as well as other class specific indicators i.e. precision, recall, f-measure. Results proved that Rep tree algorithm outperformed other machine learning algorithms in classifying students who are at more likely to fail in the examinations.

El propósito de este artículo es describir la calidad educativa en la educación universitaria venezolana, se presenta una breve descripción del término calidad educativa y de los intentos por evaluarla en las universidades venezolanas. La metodología que se utilizó fue un estudio bibliográfico, descriptivo, de tipo documental, la técnica usada fue el uso de fichas bibliográficas. Las categorías consideradas por los autores fueron: a) reflexiones sobre el concepto de calidad educativa; b) las experiencias de las universidades venezolanas en torno al tema; y c) experiencias del estado venezolano para evaluar la calidad educativa a nivel universitaria. Como conclusión se tiene que se debe seguir trabajando para realizar nuevas definiciones del término calidad educativa en el contexto venezolano, y que las universidades venezolanas y el Estado venezolano han tenido mecanismos para evaluarla, sin embargo, no se han observados cambios en la transformación de la universidad venezolana.  AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to describe the quality of education in the Venezuelan university; this is a brief description of the term educational quality and its attempts to evaluate it in the Venezuelan universities. The methodology used was a bibliographic, descriptive, documentary-style study, the technique used were the bibliographical cards. The categories considered by the authors were: a) Reflections on the concept of educational quality; b) The experiences of the Venezuelan universities on the subject; and c) The experiences of the Venezuelan state to assess the educational quality of university. In conclusion, new definitions should be developed about educational quality in the Venezuelan context, and the Venezuelan universities and the Venezuelan government they both have had mechanisms to evaluate the quality of education, however changes have not been observed to transform the Venezuelan University yet.

The sociolinguistic survey of Cayo District, British Honduras, is planned as one of a series to be carried out by the same methods and as far as possible by the same team, so that comparable results can be obtained from a number of territories, and hypotheses about the relationship between patterns of verbal behaviour and other social factors based on one territory tested in the next. The hypotheses to be tested were formed (somewhat pretentiously) within a general ‘law’ with four riders in ‘Problems of description in multilingual communities’ (Le Page 1968a), and the practical ends of the survey also adumbrated there — viz., to help improve the quality of education in multilingual communities by illuminating the problems, the motives and the performance of children, by training the teachers and by helping in a basic way with the preparation of materials. The scientific aims are to gain an understanding of linguistic processes in relation to other relevant factors and modes of behaviour, so as to improve both linguistic and sociolinguistic theory.

This article presents the results of connecting an educational data mining techniques to the academic performance of students. Three classification models (Decision Tree, Random Forest and Deep Learning) have been developed to analyze data sets and predict the performance of students. The projected submission of the three classificatory was calculated and matched. The academic history and data of the students from the Office of the Registrar were used to train the models. Our analysis aims to evaluate the results of students using various variables such as the student's grade. Data from (221) students with (9) different attributes were used. The results of this study are very important, provide a better understanding of student success assessments and stress the importance of data mining in education. The main purpose of this study is to show the student successful forecast using data mining techniques to improve academic programs. The results of this research indicate that the Decision Tree classifier overtakes two other classifiers by achieving a total prediction accuracy of 97%.
