scholarly journals Education and Employment are at two Poles- A Research using Fuzzy Cognitive Linguistic Multimaps

The status of white collar jobs are gradually declining in India and the people are getting accustomed to just in jobs for their livelihood sustainability. The question of existence of such unfilled gaps between education and employment is still unanswered and now it has become a predicament. It is indeed a crucial period for the higher educational institutions of the nation to balance both enrollment and placement of the students amidst the prevailing competitions in the educational market. In the present days, educational sectors are becoming corporatized by institutionalizing the principles of corporate into the dictionary of academics with the argument of fostering quality in education. The management of the institutions also substantiates such kind of transition in this era of technology. Should the institutions become manufacturing companies of quality employees to make them fit into the job market, which demands excess of skills and competencies to go for a long run? The reasons for education and employment being at two poles have to be studied to develop a deeper comprehension on the grounds of such emerging crisis. This study will be fruitful to the educationalists, academic experts and educational reformers to frame certain remedial measures for rectification. To carry out this research work systematically the concept of Fuzzy Cognitive Linguistic Multimaps, which is an extension of fuzzy cognitive trimaps, is used to draw feasible concluding remarks and inferences devoid of ambiguity and uncertainty.

Libraries are widely used by government, universities, research institutes, and the public since they are storing and managing intellectual assets. The library information directly stored in libraries and about the people interaction with libraries can be transformed into accessible data which then will be used by researchers to help library better serve users. Librarians need to understand how to transform, analyze, and present data in order to facilitate such knowledge creation. For example, the challenges they face include how to make big datasets more useful, visible and accessible. Fortunately, with new and powerful analytics of big data, such as information visualization tools, researchers/users can look at data in new ways and mine it for information they intend to have. Moreover, interaction of users and stored information has been taken into librarian's consideration to improve library service quality. In this work, the authors discuss the characteristics of datasets in library and argue against a popular confusion that data involved in library research is not big enough, conduct a review for the research work on library big data and then summarize the applications and research directions in this field. The status of big data research in library in China is discussed. The challenges associated with it are also discussed and explored.

AbstractDuring the Intifada (1987–1993) Israel has closed educational institutions in the Territories as part of its coping with the rising violence. This paper analyses the ramifications of closing those institutions, on Palestinian society, its reaction to it and the changes which occurred as a result. In the short run, the Palestinian society has tried to find educational alternatives to the official frameworks; classrooms were opened out of school area and new curriculums were produced. But in the long run, the ramifications were most severe: a decrease in the academic levels and achievements brought universities in Arab countries to refuse to admit students from the territories; students dropped out of schools; and above all, changes in students’ behavior led to significant changes in the Palestinian society. Among them: a decrease in the status and influence of traditional figures, a rise in the level of violence among teenagers and religious radicalization amidst the youth.

This research work seeks to bring into view the status quo of the Yoruba customary system of inheritance, which is to some extent opposed to the Islamic legal system of inheritance. This is because it is observed that the Yoruba customary system is characterized by some oppression and injustice. Some eligible persons are being deprived their shares like the woman, children and so on. As it is known that Islamic legal rulings have come to put an end to the Pre-Islamic orders in all affairs, transactions and personal laws, including the inheritance. Allah prescribed them all for mankind to eliminate oppression and establish justice among the individuals and groups in the family and the society. Despite the fact that Muslims are in Majority in Yorubaland, Nigeria, most of the Muslims continue to practice the customary system of Inheritance, where some estates are being neglected and not shared, or enjoyed by the people who are not entitled to them.

Fines are sanctions or punishments that are applied in the form of the obligation to pay a sum of money imposed on the denial of a number of agreements previously agreed upon. There is debate over the status of fines in Islamic law. Some argue that fines may not be used, and some argue that they may be used. In the context of fines for delays in payment of taxes, in fiqh law it can be analogous to ta'zir bi al-tamlīk (punishment for ownership). This can be justified if the tax obligations have met the requirements. Whereas according to Islamic teachings, fines can be categorized as acts in order to obey government orders as taught in the hadith, and in order to contribute to the realization of mutual benefit in the life of the state. As for the amount of the fine, the government cannot arbitrarily determine fines that are too large to burden the people. Penalties are applied as a message of reprimand and as a means to cover the lack of the state budget.

SUMMARYNon-city starosty of Tyszowce was located in the province of Belz and received the status of royal land in 1462. Its territory included the town of Tyszowce and villages: Mikulin, Perespa, Klatwy and Przewale. In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries the starosty suffered from a significant increase of various negative phenomena. The crown lands had bitterly tasted devastating fires, epidemics, contributions, requisitions, robberies and field devastations. All these disasters were caused mainly by war and military activities. Marches of soldiers and quartering of troops greatly contributed to the situation and were usually associated with the need of maintaining the soldiers. The requisitions of food, alcohol, cattle, horses and poultry were particularly burdensome for the people. The greatest economic devastation as regards the resources of the starosty and its people was caused by monetary contributions, usually several times higher than the financial capacity of the town and its inhabitants. This work focuses on damages to the starosty caused by the royal cavalry. According to the literature, it is clear that the behavior of the troops in Tyszowce Starosty was not different from the behavior of soldiers in other areas of Poland. It must be admitted that the reprehensible behavior of the army was influenced by many conditions, from the recruitment of people from backgrounds often involving conflict with law, as well as foreigners, to the accommodation system under which the soldiers were forced to supply themselves “on their own.”

Khmer Girl’s in Action is a nonprofit that successfully utilizes community-based participatory research (CBPR) with university partners to create social change for youth in Long Beach, CA. Based on semi-structured interviews and content analysis of news articles, I explore the impact and sustainability of this research work and the research partnerships. Findings highlight impacts such as youth empowerment, heightened awareness around community needs, policy change, and CBPR curriculum improvements in the field as impacts. Sustainability requires integrating research into program funding, utilizing a tailored training curriculum, building on community members prior relationships, and selecting partners that share common goals, levels of commitment, and flexibility. As funders demand more data to justify community needs, understanding more examples of such work in the Asian American community will be useful for informing future partnerships.
