Youth unemployment is one of the most difficult problem threatening economic development of many nations. Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) is therefore increasingly recognized all over the world, as a panacea to ameliorate the menace of unemployment. Any country that attaches special importance or gives special attention to entrepreneurship stands a better chance of reducing unemployment and improved economy. This study therefore seeks to examine the impact of EDP on the menace of unemployment in Osun state, Nigeria. The specific objective seeks to examine the impact of National Directorate of Employment (NDE) on youth empowerment; and determine the effect of N-power on poverty reduction in Osun state. The study adopted survey research design, using item structured instrument to elicit information from the respondents, for a true representation of the whole population of twenty-five and seventeen thousand (25,000 & 17,000) from both NDE and N- power respectively. The sample of four hundred (400) and two hundred and fifty (250) from both NDE and N -power respectively, making a total of six hundred and fifty (650) respondents was drawn from the population using Taro Yamane (1967) formula for estimating sample. A total of 650 questionnaires were administered out of which six hundred and thirty-two (632) were properly filled and returned. The formulated hypotheses were tested using multiple regression with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS…Version20). The finding of the study revealed that NDE programmes have significant impact on job creation. with the R2 of 0.598. The study also revealed that N-power significantly address poverty reduction, most especially in Osun State, with R2 value of 0.687, which indicate that technical skills which comprises of cognitive and non-cognitive skill actually reduced unemploment. Therefore, It was recommended that, in other to produce a typical entrepreneurs that will not only be self-employed but employ more other unemployed youth, government should make it as a point of duty that beneficiaries are given practical training and ensure they acquire technical skills, both cognitive and non- cognitive skill during and after the programme. <p class="06IsiAbstrak">Millennial Youth Empowerment Through the Program for Strengthening the Identity of Muslim Youth in the Community Home Education Based Akhlak and Talent. Youth with age characteristics who have a tempestuous spirit, the development of thinking power and the development of maximum maturity, in Islamic history have contributed a lot to world civilization. But today's youth seem to have started to lose their identity. Many young people are confused about the purpose of their lives, their life orientation is not directed to the good of the afterlife Therefore, it is important to have a youth empowerment program. The research approach uses a qualitative method with field research. The results of the study revealed that the Home Education Based Akhlak and Talent (HEBAT) community is one of the programs that empowers youth with the values of <em>fitrah</em>-based education <em>(Insan Kamil)</em>. The program tries to apply a fitrah assessment model with a mentoring method to ignite the nature of youth so that they shine beautifully into youth who have an empowered paradigm that is not only seen from an economic perspective, but empowered which means freedom from serving other than Allah. Youth who can have an impact on community empowerment are youth who are integrated between mental and spiritual, transmit the spirit of monotheism in addition to the science and technology they master, and are adaptive to the times. The role of the youth is as a solution for the community and as proof of work as a provision for the afterlife.</p>

Youth is the nation's asset, determining the future direction of a better life. Their existence becomes a renewing energy and is critical of a distorted establishment. Youth is the breath of the times, the ideal group of the ummah and the nation who are rich in criticism, imagination, and their role in every event that occurs in the midst of changing society. It is undeniable that youth play an important role in almost every social transformation and struggle to achieve goals. The success of youth development as quality human resources with competitive advantage is one of the keys to opening opportunities for success in various other development sectors. Therefore, youth empowerment is considered as one of the programs that cannot be ignored in preparing the nation's life in the future. Youth have valuable assets as capital to make changes. These assets must be utilized so that they can be useful. Youth empowerment can be done through various ways, both in formal, informal, and non-formal channels. The purpose of empowerment is basically to shape the character of youth, so that they become fully Indonesian human beings or humans who have character that can optimize the talents or assets of youth so that they can prosper individuals and groups. Partners in community service with this Community Partnership Program scheme are the Talun Kenas Village Government, STM Hilir District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province. The output targets of this program are scientific publications, mass media publications, activity videos and being speakers in scientific meetings. The method used in this program is program socialization and Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) involving all targets so that young people can be empowered by releasing all their assets to form a joint business for mutual benefit.

<p>In Myanmar, youth are traditionally perceived as a less significant segment of the society. Hence, youth development issues and problems around youth have attracted little attention from community members. Youth empowerment is a human resource development tool and a process designed to help the development of young individuals, by enabling them to solve their own problems and contribute to the development of their community.  This qualitative study examines youth empowerment initiatives of one youth-led organization and its alumni by employing Appreciative Inquiry (AI) and conducting semi-structured interviews. This study focuses on how a youth-led organization has empowered youth to become socially engaged for social transformation and get involved in the country’s development sector.  Results show that empowerment is an ongoing process and reveal a new dimension of youth empowerment in the Myanmar context. This study found that the nature of youth-led development organizations for youth and social change movements differed. Youth-led empowerment actions offer learning opportunities and create spaces for young people to participate in community movements. Moreover, Socially Engaged Buddhism (SEB) is an alternative to the conventional empowerment approaches, which offers Buddhist principles for individual development of young people and stimulates youth to get involved in collective social change movements to tackle structural injustices.      </p>

Young people need to be recognized and supported to play a major role as agents of peace. The society needs to partner with them to form a sine qua non (an essential condition) in promoting the global agenda for youth involvement in sustainable peace. Peacebuilding is broadly defined as an ‘action to identify and support structures which tends to strengthen and solidify peace in order to avoid a relapse into conflict.’ Therefore, peacebuilding is directed towards the eradication of the root causes of violence and is necessarily a multifaceted and multidimensional project that involves political, legal, economic, social, religious and cultural institutions and security practices, which are understood as complementary and mutually reinforcing. This paper examines how the involvement of youths in the peacebuilding process can promote sustainable peace in Maiduguri, Borno State, as a result of the Boko Haram conflict to avoid future occurrences of such conflict. The objective of the study is to explore the role Maiduguri youths can play in building sustainable and long-term peace in Maiduguri, Borno State as a critical stakeholder. The study employs the multidimensional research method also as a peer-review paper, the secondary source of data was used. The finding reveals that youth are critical stakeholders in peacebuilding and should be involved at all stages of the peace process. The study recommends that the Borno State Government should formulate policies and programs that are directed towards youth’s engagement in governance, address unemployment problem etc. since participatory democracy, youth empowerment, and social wellbeing are critical drivers of sustainable development, peace and security.

The leading research question in this chapter is how formal and informal educational practices affect Roma identity formation and, in turn, may influence Roma youth empowerment and positive development. The goal is to provide an interdisciplinary examination of marginalized youth development based on the example of Roma in Hungary. This chapter dissects positive youth development (PYD) through a detailed study of group–context relationships, in this case Roma in formal and informal educational institutions. The case study reveals that there are two critical variables for successful PYD in the case of minority discriminated youth: positive identity and supportive institutional context.
