scholarly journals Understanding the Factors Affecting Consumer’s Acceptance of E–Healthcare Services

E-health platforms are fast becoming popular as they provide faster and hassle free services to the consumers and also proving to be time and cost effective. With the help of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) present research is an attempt to study the elements attracting the consumers’ technology adoption in healthcare and also to identify and propose a conceptual model. Primary data was collected from 298 respondents from the various private hospitals of Punjab and Union Territory using a questionnaire with five point likert scale. The exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis was done using AMOS 21.The factor analysis explored four factors which were named as Perceived usefulness, Perceived ease of use, Behavioral intention and risk. Model fit indices of the default model were chi-square degree of freedom-806.310/316,RMR-0.54, GFI-0.835, AGFI-0.803, NFI-0.896, TLI-0.926, RMSEA-0.07`suggest a good fit model. The study suggests the important factors responsible for technology acceptance for e-Health care consumers

This chapter identifies user satisfaction levels of eGovernment services. Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) deals with the prediction of the acceptability of an information system. TAM posits that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use determine an individual's adoption of a system with intention to use serving as a mediator of actual system usage. In this chapter, a modified version of the TAM is proposed to predict the acceptability of eGovernment services and to identify the modifications, which must be brought to the system in order to make it acceptable to users. In the chapter, one of the most used eGovernment projects, e-school, is investigated according to TAM. An Internet-based survey questionnaire was applied to identify factors that influence users' satisfaction from one of the eGovernment services in Turkey. The sample was 30 teachers, who are working in public and private schools. A factor analysis was conducted on the questionnaire items, and a regression analysis, dependent on the factor analysis, was performed to determine and evaluate the effects of the factors on user satisfaction. The authors found that five main factors have significant affect on the satisfaction of users related to the e-School system. These factors are utilitarian ease of use, system usefulness, system content, system usability, and ease of use. The authors contributed to existing literature by adding a new construct, which refers to utilitarian ease of use.

The purpose of this chapter is to examine the factors that influence small and medium-sized enterprises' (SMEs) intentions to use the investment account platform (IAP) based on technology acceptance model (TAM). The central hypothesis for this chapter was that SMEs' intentions to use IAP were a result of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. This chapter also suggested that perceived ease of use and intention was mediated by perceived usefulness of the IAP. Using primary data collection method, 163 questionnaires were collected from SMEs in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia using the purposive sampling technique. The data were analysed using SPSS and SmartPLS. The chapter found that perceived ease of use had significant influences on SMEs intention to use the IAP while perceived ease of use significantly affected perceived usefulness and the relationship between perceived ease of use and intention was mediated by perceived usefulness of the IAP. The results of this chapter suggested strategies to promote the platform as a fund seeking platform for SMEs.

Background: The employment of IT in healthcare reflects a need to meet the increasing demands of patients and to upgrade the quality and productivity of the provided services. However, the literature demonstrates many failures in systems and IT technology implementation. One of the reasons behind these failures is users’ resistance. The ministry of health (MOH) in Saudi Arabia (SA) has prioritized the embracing of new technologies that could improve the healthcare services, such as electronic medical record (EMR) systems. On the other hand, studies that address the acceptance and use of hospital information systems (HIS) and EMRs in SA from patients’ standpoint are scarce. The aim of this study was to explore patients’ acceptance of an EMR system by proposing a model adapted from the technology acceptance model (TAM) and the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT). Methods: An online questionnaire was used where questions were based on the proposed model constructs (facilitating conditions (FC), perceived ease of use (PEOU), perceived usefulness (PU), attitude (ATT), and behavioral intention (BI)). 116 patients responded to the questionnaire. The model was then tested to identify the factors that affect patients’ intention to use the online services of the EMR. Results: The analysis of the research model suggested that (1) FCs influenced the degree of system’s PEOU. (2) PEOU affected the EMR’s PU. (3) PU affected patients’ ATT toward using the EMR. (4) A positive effect is found between ATT and BI to use EMR. Conclusion: The study has implications for healthcare IT acceptance research and efforts in SA, as to date patients’ perspectives have received little attention. The research also makes a theoretical contribution as it validated the proposed model.

This study discusses the amalgamation of Technology Acceptance Model with the underlying 8 factors to investigate the intensity of users’ intentions towards 4G adoptions in Bangladesh. So, it has tried to list all the latest released facilities and the adoption tendency. A sample size of 119 respondents with random sampling as well as in-depth interviewing methods have used and collected primary data from different institutions across Bangladesh with a self-administered field survey questionnaire as well as having secondary sources from different webs, books, journals, annual reports, and unpublished research works. The SPSS and the 5-Point-Likert scale have used to validate the results. Also the tests include correlation, multiple regression technique, ANOVA, and co-efficient of variance have used. The study indicates that 36% respondents are positively prone to 4G (r2=.362, f=5.531, p=.000). Besides, among the 8 factors, the image has the greatest influence on it (β=.249, t=2.558, p=.012) followed by the variety of services (β=.189, t=1.608, p=.111), the perceived enjoyment (β=.148, t=1.803, p=0.109), the perceived ease of use (β=0.108, t=0.916, p=0.368), the personal Innovativeness (β=.098, t=.934, p=.352), and the network effects (β=.002, t=.025, p=.980). Conversely, the price (β=-.027, t=-.406, p=.685) and the perceived usefulness (β=-.069, t=-.629, p=.303) have a rare impact on it. However, with the outcomes, the telecommunication services providers will be able to accelerate the wining strategies at different levels in Bangladesh. As there are few studies published in this regard, future research is necessary to investigate the financial and industrial implications associated with it.
