Traditional energy generation methods is causing ton of side effect to the natural environment and indirectly endanger living species including human. Dependences of unrenewable resources for energy production need to be reduce step by step. This paper focus on estimate the potential of energy generated at Belawai river. Field study on the river, understanding on the natural condition of river and turbine blade consideration are done to undergo estimation. The result is positive on the capability of Belawai river where each month of year 2014 is estimated capable producing more that 12000 kW

Wind energy is one of the most viable options for clean and sustainable energy production. In Malaysia where wind source has been considered scarce, the capacity of installed wind energy production is very low. However, studies have shown that it is worthwhile to produce wind energy at several potential sites in this country. For this purpose, it is crucial that the designed turbine blade gives the highest possible blade power efficiency while structure wise, the turbine blade need to be effective in terms of avoiding possible failures. The maximum power efficiency means the blade does not only provide profile that gives maximum sliding ratio but also it must operate at the corresponding angle of attack, 𝜶𝒎𝒂𝒙 that gives this ratio. At the same time, the blade must be small enough to have low weight to allow it to self-start in the low wind region. In this paper, the study is focused on the aerodynamic aspect of the design of wind turbine blade that will give the maximum power efficiency. Four factors that determine aerodynamic performance of the turbine blades are discussed: the wind condition, the airfoil profile, the blade geometry and the losses. In most of the factor, adjustments are made such that the blade operates at around the 𝜶𝒎𝒂𝒙 so that the sliding ratio and thus power coefficient are maximum.

Energy generation, along with other sectors of Russia’s economy, is on the cusp of the era of digital transformation. Modern IT solutions ensure the transition of industrial enterprises from automation and computerization, which used to be the targets of the second half of the last century, to digital enterprise concept 4.0. The international record of technological and structural solutions in digitization may be used in Russia’s energy sector to the full extent. Specifics of implementation of such systems in different countries are only determined by the level of economic development of each particular state and the attitude of public authorities as related to the necessity of creating conditions for implementation of the same. It is shown that a strong legislative framework is created in Russia for transition to the digital economy, with research and applied developments available that are up to the international level. The following digital economy elements may be used today at enterprises for production of electrical and thermal energy: — dealing with large amounts of data (including operations exercised via cloud services and distributed data bases); — development of small scale distributed generation and its dispatching; — implementation of smart elements in both electric power and heat supply networks; — development of production process automation systems, remote monitoring and predictive analytics; 3D-modeling of parts and elements; real time mathematic simulation with feedback in the form of control actions; — creating centres for analytical processing of statistic data and accounting in financial and economic activities with business analytics functions, with expansion of communication networks and computing capacities. Examples are presented for implementation of smart systems in energy production and distribution. It is stated in the paper that state-of art information technologies are currently being implemented in Russia, new unique digital transformation projects are being launched in major energy companies. Yet, what is required is large-scale and thorough digitization and controllable energy production system as a multi-factor business process will provide the optimum combination of efficient economic activities, reliability and safety of power supply.

In the present article researchers feature the examination of the opinions and attitudes of the residents of Chios island in Greece. It is based on the investigation of both the characteristics (quality, potential, organization) of the island's main annual cultural events (Rocket War, Agas, and Mostra) and their possible impact on the local society, economy, tourism, and natural environment. Cluster analysis was used to classify the residents under three groups: Embracers, Realists, Neutrals. Each group has particular characteristics and a clearly defined opinion about local cultural tourism events and their impact on a local level. According to the main findings of the primary research some particularly interesting aspects of the effects of local cultural tourism events both on the local level and on the island's tourism development emerge. The conclusions drawn from the elaboration of such findings afford an opportunity to understand better the general impact of cultural events and by the same token to assist government bodies, residents, and other stakeholders in maximizing benefits, whenever possible.

Abstract Rain erosion of wind turbine blades represents an interesting topic of study due to its non-negligible impact on annual energy production of the wind farms installed in rainy sites. A considerable amount of recent research works has been oriented to this subject, proposing rain erosion modelling, performance losses prediction, structural issues studies, etc. This work aims to present a new method to predict the damage on a wind turbine blade. The method is applied here to study the effect of different rain conditions and blade coating materials, on the damage produced by the rain over a representative section of a reference 5MW turbine blade operating in normal turbulence wind conditions.

This paper presents results from a wind tunnel based examination of the response of a wind turbine blade to tower shadow in head-on flow. In the experiment, one of the blades of a small-scale, two-bladed, downwind turbine was instrumented with miniature pressure transducers to allow recording of the blade surface pressure response through tower shadow. The surface pressures were then integrated to provide the normal force coefficient responses presented in this paper. It is shown that it is possible to reproduce the measured responses using an indicially formulated unsteady aerodynamic model applied to a cosine wake velocity deficit. It is also shown that agreement between the model and the measured data can be improved by careful consideration of the velocity deficit geometry.

The purpose of currently contribution is to analyse and compare effectivity of cogeneration unit in each summer and winter season. The main idea of combined heat and energy production is to reduce usage of primary fuels and with that connected reduction of pollutions due to the integration of renewable energy sources and with regard to the natural environment. Presented contribution is dedicated on issue on the operation of a cogeneration unit integrated in central heating system.
