As there is an advancement in wireless communication there is a wide development in embedding all the devices together and controlling them through a single device. Home automation is a smart system that has been becoming more popular in the present era, where all the devices related to the home are controlled remotely through a Smart Hub. The aim of the project is to develop a Smart Hub and to control multiple IR devices through a Smart Hub using Wi-Fi to IR through MQTT, because it is inconvenient to use multiple remotes for multiple IR devices. Smart Hub consists of peripherals ESP-WROOM-32D (Microcontroller), RT400, IR transmitter, IR receiver, LDR(Light Dependent Resistor) and LM35 as Temperature sensor. All the controlling of these integrated devices can be controlled through a smart phone or tablet. This technology uses ESP-WROOM-32D and web server using mobile phone or tablet having a specific application, one can control the smart system from anywhere or with in a home remotely. This paper describes about the automation of home for a specific electronic devices having IR Transceiver like Television, Air conditioner, Dish box, DVD player and many more. This paper also describes how MQTT protocol is used for the implementation of the present prototype using ESP-WROOM-32D. The other scenario is when we don’t have the IR Transceiver devices like light, fan etc and the devices which are manually operated through electrical switches also can be controlled through IR Transceiver, Arduino and Relays

This paper presents a new and competitive smart home system in intelligent buildings based on wireless home automation networks (WHANs). Our designed system has three layers: ultimate controller, data transmission network, and wireless sensor networks. The merits of our system include two folds: 1) it is easy to be adopted in our home without any changing our existing electronic devices; 2) unlike other independent subsystem, the whole-sale functions of smart system are integrated into our system, it can perform well from many anticipant applications. The efficacy of our designed system is proven by practical application environment.

This paper reviews basically about Bluetooth based home automation system. It is controlled by PIC microcontroller. Home automation can be defined as the ability to perform tasks automatically and monitor or change status remotely. These include tasks such as turning off lights in the room, locking doors via smartphone, automate air condition systems and appliances which help in the kitchen. Now a days several wireless devices are available such as Bluetooth, Zigbee and GSM. Since Bluetooth is low in cost than the other two and hence is used more. In this paper we have described the methods of automating different home appliances using Bluetooth and pic microcontroller. Different sensors are involved in this system to advance and make it smarter. Sensors such as temperature sensor, liquid sensors, humidity sensor etc. can be used.

The remote control system on electrical equipment in the room can be fulfilled through the internet as an IoT (Internet of Things) implementation. All devices managed from one interface, so home appliances management delivered quickly and conveniently. The main contribution in this research is IP based controlling for rooms with control lights and vertical curtains, and also the temperature of the air conditioner (AC) with IoT Technology. The used hardware is Raspberry Pi 3 as a server, Relay, motor stepper, IR led Transmitter, and temperature sensor DS18B20. For implementation, an android application is built by MIT App Inventor 2. The results show that all features function correctly, but each device responds with a different delay value.  Delay time response of a lamp, vertical blind, and AC is up to 1.5 sec, 2.1 sec, and 1.6 sec, respectively.electrical appliances, IoT, controlling system, smart room

- In today’s situation involuntary classifications remain existence favoured over physical system. Home automation is playing significant part in humanoid lifespan. The paper is used intended for nursing and controlling the home-grown utilizations via World Wide Web which container interconnect through home automation system through an Internet entry, by means of announcement conventions. Home automation scheme uses the hand-held or vesture diplomacies as a user boundary. This paper goals at supervisory household utilizations via Smartphone using Bluetooth as announcement etiquette and interfaced with Arduino Board. It assimilates Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor, Temperature sensor, gas sensor, Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) sensor. At this time PIR sensor and Temperature sensors remained used for controlling the spotlight and fan. The statement through attendant permits the operator to excellent the fitting device. In the proposed organization an android app was developed to access the system wherever via Internet of things. The gas device used to designate the absorption of gas in the air. Buzzer attentive is given to warm others neighbouring home and also the possessor through internet via the smart receiver. The LDR is used to switch garden spotlight. This project provides a low cost and competent Homegrown Computerization System.

Digital home assistant merupakan salah satu bagian dari teknologi smart home. Smart home merupakan salah satu riset teknologi yang berfokus untuk home automation, sehingga interaksi antara manusia dengan rumah menjadi lebih mudah dan peraktis. Salah satu interaksi yang dapat dilakukan yaitu menggunakan perintah suara. Saat ini teknologi digital home assistant dapat diimplementasikan dengan berbagai macam konsep dan berbagai macam alat. Salah satu alat yang dapat digunakan adalah smart phone. Smart phone merupakan alat komunikasi yang memiliki berbagai macam tools untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pengguna, salah satunya adalah tool yang ditawarkan oleh sistem operasi Android yaitu google speech API. Dengan google speech API kita dapat membuat aplikasi yang dapat memahami perkataan manusia. Agar peralatan elektronika di rumah dapat berkomunikasi dengan smart phone, digunakanlah micro controller yang dipasangkan pada elektronika di rumah. Beberapa micro controller yang dapat digunakan yaitu Raspberry Pi dan Arduino. Pada penelitian ini dibangun suatu digital home assistant dengan perintah suara menggunakan Raspberry Pi dan smart phone. Digital home assistant yang dibangun digunakan untuk pengendalian lampu, TV, dan AC. Google speech API digunakan pada smart phone untuk proses penerjemahan perintah suara yang diberikan oleh pengguna sistem. Hasil yang didapatkan untuk pengendalian lampu, TV dan AC dengan perintah suara menggunakan smart phone dan Raspberry Pi adalah sistem dapat berjalan dengan keberhasilan 90% dan waktu rata-rata eksekusi perintah mencapai 5.32 detik.

In an era of SMART BUILDING, SMART HOUSES, this project came up with an idea of building a smart device which works smartly on some level. The system always tried to use the resources in a way that it should be conserved and should also not disturb current need and fulfil it. In order to come up with a solution which will not only conserve the energy resources but will also be an assistant with its control over the device. The system using Arduino paired with sensors and bunch of algorithms which will help in controlling the device and the device which is to be controlled with this controller will be an Air Conditioner. Using the data analysis of different aspects of weather conditions and timings and will train controller to control the device with solving the W’s of the situation i.e. How, When, Why and Where. The device will automatically control the air conditioner like when to power on and off, like on what temperature the AC should be and more.

The developments of the internet of things (IoT) technologies fascinated the universe and provided great opportunities to introduce these innovations in smart house networks. Smart home automation is highly required these days. Smart home automation is a collection of electronic devices connected to monitor and control in the market home appliance remotely. However, it is still needed to design a friendly and reliable system since the system mainly depends on the devices used and the environment of the network. NETPI and BLYNK are IoT frameworks used for hardware-agnostic with smartphones, websites, private clouds, system security, data mining, and deep learning. The results confirmed that NETPI provides flexibility to deal with several NODEMCU controllers in a single control framework. The proposed system shows its applicability in monitoring and controlling home appliances remotely.

Abstract In recent scenario the home automation system has rapidly evolved with specific advantages using internetand Wi-Fi. This paper based on the GSM technology used to send the very short message service to operate the devices connected in the common node. The home assisting software has installed in smart phone to make the system simple. A smart home automation system based on Zigbee wireless communication is used to monitor and control the devices which are connected to the common test bed simultaneously minimize the energy cost.

This is an era of technology; we are surrounded with the technology. Now a day’s people become smarter they want to operate each and everything’s with his smart phone/laptop/pc without going anywhere, it happens due to IOT devices. That’s why in this paper we have design a smart home with enhance security. In smart home we can operate the household things(fan, light, ac, any applications, door, windows, etc. )with the mobile. We design a IOT based smart and secure home model in latest released cisco packet tracer. Cisco packet is basically a simulator to teach the student about the network. But in newly released cisco packet tracer 7.2.1 it have more sensors, board, Programming languages, IOE devices. In this we can design, test, see the actual working of the network/model in real time. In testing the IoT home network wireless network gateway system, multiple electronic devices can be controlled and monitored via smartphone based on predefined configuration conditions. The smart and secure home is implemented using different types of IOE devices with enhanced security, house environment prospective and safety.
