This article is aimed to outline the features of Macao's social welfare system and identify its welfare model. The analysis shows that the welfare system is characterized by its low social welfare expenditure, mixed economy of welfare, underdevelopment of social rights, restricted impact on social stratification and the dominant role of the political-economic factors in social policy-making. It is argued that Macao's social welfare system has shared most of key features of other East Asian welfare regimes and therefore it can be regarded as a productivist welfare model.

The Spiritual, political, economic, and social rights of women are discussed at various levels. However, violence and oppression against women continue to increase. The charisma of Islam on women's rights is very strong. Thus, the study aimed at examining the concept of Islam in respect of women with the help of its primary sources, Holy Quran, and al-Hadith. Based on the review of the earlier literatures, the study was conducted with the analysis of the research articles, books and internet information on feminism along with information on the spiritual, social, economic and political rights of women found in the primary sources of Islam, classical Islamic literatures and the written works of modern Muslim scholars. The major finding of this study is that although the primary sources of Islam have a history of more than 1400 years, Islam has given proper guidelines for the complete guarantee of women's rights in the modern world and women have enjoyed them in the early Muslim community. This study will be a supportive to future studies based on the concept of Islam on women.

Despite compelling literature, research has so far failed to provide substantive empirical evidence on the relationship between individual preferences on the inclusion of immigrants into institutionalized forms of solidarity and migration incorporation regimes. I argue that, apart from individual factors and welfare state generosity, citizenship models shape citizen’s attitudes on immigrant social rights. Concretely, I examine the effect of the civic and cultural dimensions of the models of citizenship relative to attitudes of unconditional institutional solidarity toward immigrants and welfare chauvinism. The results show that individual attitudes about welfare eligibility of migrants differ among sociodemographic characteristics, political economic orientations, and social depositions of deservingness but at the same time yield from the cultural barriers to the access of immigrants to the political community.

The article discusses the importance of land rights in the South Pacific for securing the enjoyment of other civil, political, economic, and social rights in the Pacific focusing especially on Vanuatu as a paradigm. The infringement of land rights and the abuse of natural resources in the Pacific have a long history and the consequences on human rights on the whole are severe.  The article argues that current constitutional provisions do not go far enough to ensure that land rights are protected and consequently to ensure the enjoyment human rights as a whole.

This text addresses the main events of Brazilian education throughout the 20th century. It is a bibliographical analysis of political-economic transformations and their correlation with education and teaching work. It starts from a historical-critical approach, to understand the conditions of professionalization or proletarianization of the teaching activity, passing through the consolidation of its class representations until the end of the century. Although the history of teacher professionalization, as well as all of history, does not proceed in a linear way, the consolidation of labor rights express, to a greater or lesser extent, the gradual expansion of social rights, especially those that have in the investment in education as a public policy , a hope of economic development.

Women have long been silenced in history and literature. The female voice, for centuries, has largely gone unheard, unattended, or grossly misinterpreted across the world, so how could it be any different in literature, which in itself is the mirror of society? Feminism, a collection of movements and ideologies, that emerged in the 19th century sought to redefine this attitude. These movements aimed at establishing and defending equal political, economic and social rights for women.

AbstractFaced with the Brazilian political, economic and social environment, characterized by attacks on democracy and the withdrawal of social rights, this text seeks to analyze the central points of current setbacks of public policies of health, education, assistance social rights, in which Occupational Therapy, in the areas of assistance, training, management and formulation and implementation of public policies, is directly involved. It is understood that the current government's propositions for these fields weaken and threaten the continuity of the existence of territorial arrangements, strategies and services, of community basis, in which the occupational therapist composes multidisciplinary teams. In addition, they cause deep crosses in the daily lives of subjects and collectives and in the exercise of their citizenship, especially with regard to access to basic health, education and social assistance services, as well as the right to work, housing, social security and culture.
