Simulation of human intelligence process is made possible with the help of artificial intelligence. The learning, reasoning and self-correction properties are made possible in computer systems. Along with AI, other technologies are combined effectively in order to create remarkable applications. We apply the changing role of AI and its techniques in new educational paradigms to create a personalised teaching-learning environment. Features like recognition, pattern matching, decision making, reasoning, problem solving and so on are applied along with knowledge based system and supervised machine learning for a complete learning and assessment process.

The changing role of universities in society includes the increasing expectation that academic institutions should engage in collaboration with companies. Industrial PhD programmes are educational tools for building bridges between the academic sector and industry. In these programmes, the PhD student studies and carries out research while being employed in a knowledge-based company or R&D agency. Having reviewed current practice in Estonia and elsewhere, suggestions are offered for improving the use of industrial PhD programmes as a cooperation policy tool. It is argued that these enhancements could help to facilitate university–industry cooperation and therefore could foster the transition to a knowledge-based service society and improve productivity.

Knowledge-based systems are forms of computerized tools designed specially to help in many aspects specifically in collaboration activities. Despite the importance of these tools in generating, exchanging, and sharing the information and knowledge, many institutions, especially educational ones, are not interested in them, because of insufficient knowledge of the role of knowledge-based systems and their effectiveness in the academic events. The basic purposes of this paper are to find the role of knowledge-based systems collaboration tools (KBSCT) in higher educational institutions and to recognize in what way institution and student performance are affected by implementing KBSCT. The research questionnaires distributed to 100 participants, but only 67 were used and included in the frequency analysis. The results added a contribution in terms of identifying how the KBSCT effect on the higher educational institution and student's decisions.

Abstract The adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and service robots in the tourism industry for frontline service automation is generating a growing interest. Although there is a fairly large body of literature about this research field, the impacts on the service encounter need to be further investigated. The paper presents an action research project that led to employ the humanoid robot “Pepper”, equipped with a supervised machine-learning AI system, at the reception of an Italian hotel to provide information to clients. This allowed to explore the role played by this agent and the effects on the changing role taken by frontline employees (FLE) and customers. Findings show that this technology can act as an augmentation force and that FLEs’ role can evolve mainly into that of enabler - of the customers and of technology -, innovator and coordinator, while customers may take above all the role of enabler of the technology. The study also contributes to introduce the new role of “AI supervisor” among FLEs.

Abstract Purpose: The goal of digital marketing is to enhance strategic decision making to discover competitive and consumer behavior, and to provide early warnings of risks and opportunities. In the age of digitalization, digital marketing may be influenced with the use of cognitive technologies and also open sources of big data. The aim of this paper is to understand the impact of artificial intelligence analytics on digital marketing and the role of open big data and AI analytics competencies in this relationship.Design: A structural equation modeling of the 227 questionnaire was carried out. Findings: Our analysis shows that open big data has a significant impact on digital marketing, and AI analytical competencies moderate the impact of open big data on digital marketing. Value: Theoretically, this study extends the literature on knowledge-based view and AI analytics in digital marketing. Practically, this study broadens understandings regarding the perquisites of digital marketing through the use of cognitive technologies and open big data

Many researches has been conducted for the need to increase critical thinking of students (in (different fields, (also many researches has been done on the importance and the role of critical thinking for students achievements. In this context this requires a critical approach. To achieve this should be used effective teaching methods that develop critical thinking and also facilitate and enhance the learning of students and their performance in general, making them able to solving problems in their fields. A visualization approach increase communication, increase critical thinking and provides analytical approach to various problems. Therefore, this research is aimed to investigate visualization for the purpose of examining its role in developing critical thinking. In order to achieve this it was made an experiment for the use of visualization and from this experimentation are extracted the results of the effect of using the visualization for the aspect of developing and increasing critical thinking. The results which are taken from this research highlight the positive effect that the use of visualization in teaching and learning process has in developing the critical thinking of students and their overall performance. The results also shows that the visualization motivates students to learn, making them more cooperative and developing their skills for critical approach. Keywords: visualization, critical thinking, teaching, learning, student performance

Aim: This research aim is to analyze an artificial intelligence platform that can be used in imparting education as well as evaluating student performance. Method: This research was conducted with a qualitative method by conducting in-depth interviews and a literature study. Results: The findings of this study shows that Artificial Intelligence technology can be used as a means of developing English learning for students. Discussion: There have been several studies that support research results, that AI can be used to improve students' English skills through applications, websites, Virtual Reality technology, and other AI-based learning and teaching systems. Limitation: The limitation of this research is that it does not examine how far the role of AI in students' English learning is. Suggestion: For further research, it is expected to test how far the role of AI is to improve students' English skills, especially Universitas Airlangga students.

The article considers the classification of Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems. The role of AI has increased significantly recently in all areas of life. The use of AI in public administration, in production, in medicine, in the military, in the social sphere, etc., raised a number of questions related to the definition of AI and classification of AI systems. Classification of AI is necessary to understand the role of AI in the digital economy. Classification becomes important in the context of intensive development of international standards for AI systems and knowledge-based systems (expert, neural, multi-agent, cyber-physical systems and systems based on the industrial Internet)

Questions about the nature of the teaching/learning process originate in ancient Greek philosophy. What is the role of language? What is the relationship between the individuals? Are we free in our choices? Important ancient philosophers, Democritus, Plato, Aristotle and Lucretius answered these questions in different ways, while Descartes, Spinoza, Hume, Kant and many others continued where they left off. Even today in the Age of Technology, contemporary researchers from the fields of philosophy, cognitive science, neurobiology, and artificial intelligence ask similar, albeit technologically informed, questions. Among these, there are also questions about the relationship between humans and machines, and implications which they carry for solving traditional problems within philosophy, i.e. the mind-body problem, mental causation problem and the problem of consciousness.
