The objectives of this study were to test an adapted four-factor model of burnout consisting of Exhaustion, Cynicism, Professional Efficacy and Cognitive Weariness for employees of a higher education institution in South Africa and to determine differences in burnout levels between different language groups and employees with different years of experience at the institution. A crossectional survey design (N = 372) was used. The Maslach Burnout Inventory – General Survey, the Cognitive Weariness Scale and a biographical questionnaire were administered. Structural equation modelling confirmed the hypothesised four-factor model of burnout. The scales showed acceptable internal consistencies. Analysis of variance revealed differences in burnout and cognitive weariness for groups with different languages and different years of experience at the institution.

Entrepreneurship holds a strategic role for national economic development by creating job opportunity. Unfortunately, Indonesia still has low number of entrepreneurs. Since entrepreneurship can be learned, then universities are seen as one of the potential sources of supply to create entrepreneurs through entrepreneurial education. Although Indonesian government and ministry of higher education give a strong support to stimulate entrepreneurship in higher education, in the reality, most of university graduates still hesitate to become entrepreneur. This study aims to see the effect of entrepreneurship education, entrepreneurial self-efficacy on student’s entrepreneurial intentions from four private universities located in Tangerang. The research was carried out using quantitative methods using non-probability sampling with judgmental sampling. The data were collected through online questionnaires using google forms with a sample target of 134 samples. The data analysis in this study using the SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) technique assisted by the SmartPLS 3.0 software. This study shows that entrepreneurship education has a significant effect on entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intentions. And, Entrepreneurial Self-Efficacy positively affect entrepreneurial intention. The study also found that entrepreneurial self-efficacy partially mediates the relationship between entrepreneurship education with Student's Entrepreneural Intention

Purpose Considering entrepreneurship education (EE) theory as a base, this paper aims to examine the impact of EE upon building entrepreneurial intentions. In addition, it investigates the impact of student’s age, gender and degree or course background in developing students entrepreneurial intentions. Design/methodology/approach A sample of 309 student respondents from higher education institution (HEI’s) was used to understand the relationship and its impact over intention building. Regression and ANOVA technique was used to understand the cause and effect as well as mean differences between the construct. Findings The results signify a positive impact of EE for stimulating the start-up intention in these interdisciplinary students of HEIs. These results resemble the existing studies in this endeavour. Findings also verify that individual intention to start a new business in terms of the theory of planned behaviour (attitude, perceived behavioural control and social norms), student background (gender and degree specialization) are positively related to individual intention to start a new business. Research limitations/implications The results confirm previous studies in this field and highlight the need for EE in HEI. The paper highlights the vitality for EE for India’s start-up growth. Originality/value This study adds to the paucity of research on EE and its impact on entrepreneurial intentions in higher education institutions in India.

The aim of the study is to investigate factors that influence the adoption and use of educational technology by students of a higher education institution in developing countries. The study employed the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT). The online survey method was used to collect data from 286 students of a higher education institution in Nigeria. The maximum likelihood method based on structural equation modelling (SEM) using IBM Amos 22.0 application was used to analyse the data. The study determined that performance expectancy and effort expectancy (p < 0.001) were significant factors in influencing the behavioural intention to use Canvas. Social Influence was deemed to be a statistically non-significant factor in influencing behavioural intentions as (p > 0.05). Facilitating conditions and behavioural intentions were determined to be salient factors that positively influence the actual usage of Canvas by the students. The results from the data obtained partially support the UTAUT’s ability to explain the factors responsible for the acceptance of educational technology in developing countries, in Nigeria to be specific. Furthermore the study contributes to the formulation of approaches and guidelines to enhance the adoption of educational technologies in developing countries.
